    Nightmare Vacation: Unhygienic Conditions and Poor Service at Grand Bahía Príncipe

    What was supposed to be a relaxing, peaceful vacation at the Grand Bahía Príncipe Hotel in Runaway Bay turned into the worst hotel experience for me and my girlfriend. We stayed for three days and two nights, and here’s what we encountered: Picis Restaurant Hygiene: At the Picis restaurant, most food not placed on warmers was covered with flies. While the tables were well-set, black birds (crows) were walking and hopping all over the utensils. Some tables and chairs were even covered with bird droppings. When we tried to move away from the birds, the staff rudely insisted that we had to sit at the front. Mosquito Infestation: Our room was infested with mosquitoes. I spent most of my time swatting them, but they seemed to multiply. Every time we opened the door, more mosquitoes rushed inside. We reported this to frontdesk multiple times and while they said someone would come to spray it no one came. We also reported it to the housekeeper, who offered to spray the room but admitted she had run out of bug spray. Room Maintenance Issues: On the first night, the air vent in our room fell down. I reported it, and while they said maintenance would come, no one did. The next day, the housekeeper called for maintenance again, and someone finally arrived but didn’t have the tools to fix it. He promised to return but never did. When we checked out, the vent was still on the floor. Stocked Fridge Promise: We were promised a stocked fridge upon arrival, but we didn’t receive anything until the following day. I called requesting at least some water, as my girlfriend needed to take her medication. Since no one came, I had to leave the room at 10:30 PM to get water for her. Terrible Food Quality: The food was awful throughout our stay. It lacked any flavor, and at the Jerk Center, one of the chefs was seen cutting bread with his bare hands—no gloves. Every time we went to eat, we left within 15 minutes because we couldn’t tolerate the food. At the à la carte restaurant, our fine dining experience was a disaster. The food was undercooked and tasted raw, forcing us to leave shortly after arriving. Thankfully, the gift shop sold snacks, or we would have gone to bed hungry. Unpleasant Restaurant Encounters: We tried another restaurant, only to be greeted by five croaking lizards at the entrance. We didn’t even bother going inside. Slippery Walkways: During a brief rain shower, many areas became dangerously slippery, with no caution signs. My girlfriend had to hold onto me to avoid falling. Overall, we were supposed to check out at 12:00 PM, but we left before 9:00 AM because we simply couldn’t stay any longer in such disappointing conditions.

    Fantastic Jamaica

    Had an absolutely fantastic time , the whole experience was excellent, the friendliness of the whole team was second to none , the entertainment team kept us entertained, especially the pool quizzes where rule breaking faced hilarious consequences , I could name names but they were all so fantastic I don’t want to single any of them out, the bar staff kept us hydrated , the restaurant staff kept us fed and the housekeeping kept our rooms clean and tidy , the resort was immaculate and I will definitely return .

    Wow just amazing

    From arriving at this beautiful hotel we were extremely impressed , we were greeted by very friendly staff who made check in a breeze . We were taken to our room by a member of guest experience staff where she explained everything to us . My room which was 27306 ocean view was fabulous with amazing views . The hotel is immaculately clean and cleaning staff are constantly on the go maintaining the high standard . My room was cleaned everyday with fresh towels . My mini bar was also stocked constantly and if anything more was needed one call to guest experience and it was brought up . Guest experience also would ring frequently or personally talk to you round the hotel to make sure we had everything we needed . The pool area was beautiful with swim up pool serving gorgeous cocktails and the bar staff were very friendly and interacted with us . The entertainment provided throughout the day and night was amazing , every single member of the entertainment team were friendly and did everything they could to make your day a fabulous experience, a special shout out to crazy legs who was just the best , although all the team are a credit to the hotel . The food we found to be just stunning with a vast array to choose from . All the staff within all the different restaurants were always very friendly And couldn’t do enough for you . So to sum up I can honestly say I have never been to such a well run hotel , beautiful in every way and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend to anyone I will definitely be back . Thank you to every single member of staff at Bahia Principe luxury Runaway Bay your the best

    The experience was fine

    This was my first time at an all inclusive resort so I don’t have much to compare it to. However, the room smelled stale. Mildewy, like the towels had sat in the washer too long before being put in the dryer. Same issue with the bed linen. It rly ruined the “luxurious” feel. Everything else was nice and enjoyable, but nothing spectacular.

    Only day two and what a disappointment!

    Booked hotel online and emailed hotel to request a room close to lifts and the restaurants as I would be travelling with my mother who has mobility issues. I was told that this would be put in my notes but not 100% guaranteed as depends on availability. I also booked a room with two double beds. We checked in around 12.30 and was told there was no request on file and we had been allocated a king size bed! - Room allocated is quite a distance from restaurants. - Toilet not flushing in room maintenance came on three separate occasions to fix it but still not working. Asked to change rooms. Room is even further from the restaurants. It is very frustrating as I feel the hotel staff are not considerate of my Mum's mobility issues. - Went to reception to get my 'key' updated, receptionist gave me the wrong room number so I ended up entering someone else's room! - Hotel is billed as 'adults only' but I have seen lots of children in the pool! - Apparently there is works going on at the sister hotel so guests are using the buffet restaurant on the 'luxury' side which is causing massive queues for breakfast and dinner. This definitely hasn't been the adults only and luxury experience that I had hoped for. I am very disappointed.
