  Amazing!

  Beautiful hotel and super friendly staff! Jean Paul aka JP Pappi was great and kept us entertained! Rudy at the Antonio beach bar was great and the drinks were delicious!

  Amazing stay!

  What an amazing experience! JP Papi was the best entertainment at the Hideaway and all of the staff at the hotel were great! Rudi hideaway bar and Antonio beach bar make an unbelievable cocktail. I will be back

  Disappointed – Not the Adult-Only Luxury Experience I Expected for My Birthday

  I stayed at the Hideaway at Royalton Punta Cana from June 19–22, 2025 to celebrate my birthday weekend, and unfortunately, it was a huge letdown — especially for a resort marketed as “luxury” and “adults-only.” We had booked a romantic private dinner on the beach for $270 (after the hotel credit), expecting an intimate and memorable birthday experience. What we got was anything but private. There were multiple couples seated just feet away, strangers walking around taking photos and videos, and absolutely no sense of privacy or romance. To make matters worse: • The soup was cold and flavorless • The lobster was overcooked and burnt — and we had to remind them to bring it • The steak was full of fat and not cooked as requested • The champagne tasted cheap and the dessert was disappointing Honestly, we had better food at the free buffet, especially the authentic Dominican cuisine — that was one of the few highlights of our trip. Things didn’t get better. My fiancé’s cologne mysteriously went missing from our room during the stay, which we are certain was not misplaced. It made us feel uncomfortable and uneasy in what’s supposed to be a relaxing space. We also attended the Michael Jackson show, and the condition of the venue was alarming. Many of the chairs were broken, with no signs or tape to warn guests. My fiancé sat down in one and fell backward, which was both dangerous and embarrassing. With past tragedies in the country due to poorly maintained venues, this felt like a serious safety risk. Even the Hideaway “adult-only” section wasn’t truly adults-only — we saw kids checked in, and the main pool was dirty, with green and yellow grime around the edge. It looked unclean, and we avoided getting in altogether. Despite all of this, I do want to acknowledge the few positive moments. Some of the staff were extremely kind and tried their best to accommodate us, especially when the resort app wasn’t working for reservations. The buffet staff and chefs cooking Dominican food were incredible, and I truly appreciated their service and energy. But overall, for a birthday weekend getaway, I left disappointed, stressed, and frustrated. We shared our concerns with the staff multiple times, including at checkout, and were only offered a partial refund for the dinner — nothing was done about the safety hazard or the missing item. This resort has potential, but it’s not being maintained or managed at the level it should be. If you’re expecting a high-quality, adults-only experience for a special occasion, I sadly would not recommend this resort.

  Absolutely Gorgeous Resort

  Our trip here was absolutely amazing. Huge shout-out to our wonderful butler Dennis “Not The Menace” for all his help and accommodating throughout our visit. He did everything within his power to make sure our stay was top-notch.

  First time in DR and would do it again!

  My husband and I chose Punta Cana to celebrate our wedding anniversary and my birthday. Our first experience in DR was wonderful from check in to check out. The Diamond Club experience was excellent and worth it. Denis was our assigned butler and he was very attentive and made our time on the resort worry free. Denis met with us upon arrival to get to know us. He scheduled our restaurant reservations daily and he was readily available for any questions we had during our stay. The main buffet good was not that good but breakfast and lunch at Dorado restaurant was made to order and was a great alternative. Overall the experience was excellent much needed relaxation was had.
