    Disappointed

We had been to this resort just less than a year ago. This experience was much different. The room was dark and was damp the entire time. So much so, the sheets felt wet. They would not relocate us to a different room but did fix the broken outlet and cleaned mold in the closet. There was mold in other places, the tub and shower, and the curtains were musty and hanging off the rails. The room and building were pretty shabby, especially considering the price paid. The staff and service workers were working very hard. There didn’t seem to be enough staff and everyone from the room butlers to the beach butlers and maid service were spread thin. The general service seems to have been reduced significantly in the last eleven months. I realize that this is a ‘resort’, but the charges for additional items were ridiculously absorbent. Food choices and quality have also been reduced. Santa Fe restaurant used to be one of the go-to places. Now, however the choices for dinner are limited and not very good. Two people ordered steaks that came very thin with mostly fat. Bottom line is -if they do not improve the service, quality and amenities they will be not only losing vacationers, but also the hard working staff they have now.

    Decent visit but many issues.

The resort was beautiful and pristine. The beach sucked. There were 50-100 of pyramid type WWII tank busters in the ocean used as wave breakers. Did not show this on line or in the brochure. The food was outstanding. Best we have had at any of the other all-inclusive resorts we have stayed at. We did not like the lack of lunch options and they did not have a lunch or dinner buffet. We had to make dinner reservations for every restaurant and we were on their time schedule. The resort constantly tried to sell us on memberships and vacation packages. Called us every morning at 8:00am asking us to come listen to a presentation and take a tour of the property. We stopped answering the phone so they left messages under our door. Just high pressure and unethical sales pitches all of the time we were there. Never happened at the other resorts we stayed at. We were quite surprised and put off. When we checked out we were approached twice by resort associates who tried to again sell us expensive vacation packages. They would not take no for an answer. My wife gave the last guy a look and he finally shut up and left us alone. We will not be going back nor will we visit any Lomas owned properties.

    1st -8th October 2024 - just fabulous

First overseas trip since Covid, we had a fabulous time, cannot fault anything. We stayed in a swim up junior suite - only a week sadly - cheery staff, great accommodation, great choice of restaurants and bars, very well kept grounds. We will be back for longer next time. Thank you to the whole team.

Felt like Royalty at El Dorado Royale

If you want great service, friendly staff, beautiful and clean rooms, delicious food, gorgeous views, relaxation by the pool &/or ocean and even a day with a fun foam party…. This is your next stay! My high school friend & I decided to get away for 3-nights for a long weekend, and it should have been a week! We experienced the pool, the restaurants, the spa, massages, foam party in the pool, incredibly friendly staff and we even got to watch our Green Bay Packer team win another game while sitting in outdoor paradise! I can’t wait to go back!

NOT a beach hotel. Do not book this hotel.

The hotel was booked as a beach hotel, but there is no beach and sea swimming is forbidden. The loud shouting constantly American guests were annoying. Some food was un-cooked. One meal, the meat was rancid. Loud music from wedding kept us awake. Staff were polite but did not care about anything. Gardens were lovely. Room was dated and old (yellowing toilet, etc) Everything was overpriced, eg: $75 each to get to town. Tours were super over priced. Golf buggies everywhere, constantly running us over, very annoying. I would not go back even if it was free.
