Awful experience. This can barely be considered a 4 star hotel. Everything is old, untidy and unclean. The staff tries to help but they are powerless. Food at buffets is repetitive and low-quality. Restaurants are ok -- if you can book them. App is useless.

Old rooms, lots of hidden fees, 2 star resort experience
Had to change rooms 3 times due to various issues (shower not draining properly, room far away, loud neighbours). In the last room, the AC only cooled to 28°C and the door to the room did not close properly. Honestly did not want to go through moving rooms again a 4th time so we endured this pain for the last few days of our stay. The rooms are really old and worn down. We also requested a connecting room with other guests in our party but was told at check-in that it would cost us an extra $1000, or "whatever we are offering to pay". The application to book restaurants is also terrible. I wasted 3 hours every morning checking the app to try and be the first one online to book. They would literally be filled up within the first 2 minutes. The main buffet was severely understaffed. If you were not the first one in line as soon as they opened for any shift, youre faced with dirty tables and food that does not get replenished enough. The food as well had huge misses. Most food was bland, but we were able to find some hidden gems to try to enjoy. Finally the beach is leaving you with more to be desired. The water is full of algae and you smell it as you drive up to the resort. We paid an extra $500 to go to Saona island to at least spend 1 day (out of our 10 day stay) on the beach. The only saving grace was the entertainment team and the staff. Everyone was welcoming and tried their best to ensure that you are enjoying yourself in this resort. If they were employed at a REAL 4 star resort, they would really be great. I would personally not consider this to be a 4 star hotel, this would be a 2.5 if I'm trying to be generous.

Sea view room beautiful views fantastic cleaning service. Lovely friendly people. Beach fantastic. Seaweed not great but can’t be helped. Pool upkeept to high standards. Lots of people offering trips cheaper online. The staff try get u interested in the group activities.

Struggle Hotel
treated with no respect due to no speaking Spanish, Room are horrible bed uncomfortable food disgusting l am not able to make RSVP to any restaurant even on my birthday elavator don't work every day had to walk up a flight of four stairs the beach is absolute not to go in seed-weed can not swim in the beach your picture shoe clean clear blue water and that was a lie I wish I never booked this hotel or came out here I am extremely disappointed that the should've read the reviews and I will be leaving a review this place has a smell ljust overwhelmed that on my birthday celebration was ruined I had no restaurant and the employees are rude As well my toilet was clogged

I'm from Montreal was here July 1st. To check in almost 2 hours, air conditioning in 2 rooms not working the room temperature was 27.5 Very disappointed with not being able to reserve a restaurant on the application at 9 am it says already fully booked. Beach is cleaned every morning from sea weeds. Air conditioning technician aren't capable of repairing any unit of the 2 rooms we transferred. So we got stuck finishing our vacation with a room temperature of 27.5 see pictures Activities are great, pools and bars also great, buffet very good. Good luck reserving a restaurant as a few are closed.
