Breathless Cancún will take your breath away!

Breathless Cancun, is absolutely amazing. The staff make sure you are pleased in every way. One person that really stood out was Eric Martin who was our server in the fishnet restaurant. He was so attentive to our needs and very formative about all of our dishes. We really appreciate his excellent hospitality!

    Beautiful hotel but that’s it

Beautiful hotel and nice spa experience but unfortunately the positives end there. It was extremely difficult to navigate my food allergies (I had an allergic reaction due to lack of labeling) and the vast majority of the staff was unhelpful or rude. The best customer service is when they are trying to up sell you or sell you their time share program. We will not be back.

Very nice and clean resort. We would stay again. Food is very good. Buffet for breakfast had a lot of options.

Service and food is really good. Erik in the Club Bar was excellent. Evening entertainment was lacking but the occupancy rate was low during our stay so we are putting it down to that. Room was very nice. Ocean Front Allure tower. Beach are is just okay. We did not spend any amount of time on beach

We had a great time at Breathless!

My wife and I originally had a trip planned to Florida in early October but when Hurricane Helene hit, we decided to pivot and go somewhere else. We had been to Hyatt Zilara in February of 2023 for our honeymoon so we are basing part of our experience on that. We reserved an Xcelerate oceanfront room. Room 1137. The levels are 11, 12, 14, and 15 on the Xcelerate tower for reference. As others have mentioned, you will get the sales presentation right after checking in. She could tell I was not interested and we did not see her the rest of the time. About 15 minutes after we got to our room we had a knock on our door from housekeeping asking if they could hang a Happy Anniversary banner on our door. I did not mention that until check in so that was a nice touch. The outside of our room had a moldy smell the first day which was kind of a downer. Not sure if we got used to it or if it eventually disappeared. We had a nice king bed that may have been just a tad on the firm side for us. We sleep on a pillowtop at home. Part of the fun is figuring out how the lights work and which light settings turn on what lights. I did like the night light in the bathroom that was part of the “Night” setting. The room also had a high top table and chairs. This was a nice feature for when we played cards or cribbage. The biggest thing though was the tablet. You could request drinks for your mini bar (various pops, beer, and bottled water) which were delivered in a timely manner to a private pantry area. You could also change the lights, temperature, fan control, and order room service, which we did for dinner two nights of the week. You can stream music to the TV or there’s a separate speaker by the mirror so one person can get ready with their music while the other watches TV. One thing I really liked about the pool area was every set of chairs had an umbrella. Every single one. At Zilara, they did not and it kinda felt like you had to pay for the cabana just to get some shade. They do have cabanas around the Energy and Accelerate pools. I didn’t ask about Xcelerate but the Energy pool cabanas were $500 for bottle service. We opted for chairs by the Abyss swim up bar for most of our stay. If you are looking for giant ocean waves, this is not your place. But it was perfect for us because we’re pool people. We could walk out into the ocean quite a ways. For breakfast, we did the buffet at Spoon every morning. As others have mentioned, I don’t understand how they can have chafing dishes under the food and have it be lukewarm by the time you get to your table. Getting fresh eggs cooked or building your own omelet at the cooking station was an absolute must. They also offered a build your own drink area with some alcohol options. Lunch was also so-so until the last day. You could go in and eat at Spoon if you wanted to or they had pizzas and burritos at the Barefoot Grill. The pizza was OK the first day but not great the other times. Our best lunch was at the grill on the Xcelerate rooftop where they had chicken tacos on corn tortillas. Overall, I would say Zilara had better lunch options. Dinner the first night was at Silk City. I had the Duo Tartarand Pad Thai. Both were very good. My wife had Yakimeshi that was also good. Second night was room service. 2 orders of chicken fingers and an order of nachos. Definitely not bad for room service. Third night, they started shutting things down because Hurricane Milton had formed in the Caribbean and was hammering the northern Yucatan peninsula. I think we did Silk City again this night. Fourth night was Spumante. The lasagna was good but was cooked in a cast iron so the bottom got a bit dry. Dessert was limoncello and tiramisu. Fifth night was another room service night. Sixth night was Coquette. I had shrimp Rockefeller which was OK, and the onion soup, which was good. Main course was Ribeye and Bordelaise. My wife had Chateaubriand which was good. The crème brulee was OK. They also brought a small dessert with Happy Anniversary on it, which was a nice touch. For our last night we did Fish Nets. I had Fish and Chips as a starter, which were good. And prime rib for my main course, which was also good. As others have mentioned, the sports bar is not open during the day and is really only for the nightclub that starts at 10pm. I had to stream football on my phone to watch it but it may be possible on the TV in your room. We were in bed every night by then, heh. The Entertainment team really made this vacation a lot of fun. Marty, Tony, David, Andrea, Alex, and Uncle Charlie loved to chat and had different games each day. Our favorites were pool volleyball twice a day, darts, and the football toss. Our waiter by the pool was Guillermo most of the days and he was fantastic. On the Xcelerate rooftop, Mercedes was on point with bringing me beers as I was finishing them. Sebastian our concierge was helpful in showing us around. He only pressured the sales pitch to me once, which I politely declined. If you happen to run into any of these fabulous people, tell them Josué says “¡Hola!”
