3 Stars
We stayed at OEB from 7/1/25-7/6/25 for a bday girls trip. Some of the positives are: 1. The Blue Entertainment Team - honestly the entertainment squad made up for a lot of shortcomings of the trip. A special shoutout to Billy & Regla. Everyday that we stayed on property they remembered our faces and said hello and checked in on us. Billy coordinated some amazing shows and both his and Regla’s work ethic were clear to see sometimes seeing them at the resort from early morning to upwards of 11pm. 2. Lifeguard March - he was extremely friendly and personable. 3. Ricardo from the front security crew. Helped us to our room and checked in with us when we saw him around the resort. 4. Roger from guest services - he was so nice and accommodating. Helped us get what we needed and quickly. What could have went better: 1. On first glance the resort looks beautiful but as you start looking into the details you can see the resort needs some maintenance. For example the swim up pool bar had a broken counter with rough/jagged edges that could be dangerous. The pool was dirty when you get in you can feel sand and debris on your feet. The shower door in our bathroom was not screwed into the wall properly causing the door not to be able to be close properly and water to escape everywhere. We called twice and went to the lobby twice and it was never fixed. The tv worked for only 1 day. We called and went to the lobby about this as well and every time we were told it will be fixed shortly but it never was. Housekeeping seems overwhelmed. Sheets were not changed. Towels and hand soap were not always replaced so again we had to call and wait. Also garbage and used cups were not removed daily. 2. Food was mediocre, nothing to write home about. 3. A lot of restaurants and the club were on the kids side. The whole point of booking adults only is because we want to be in spaces without kids. 4. Location: Trelawny is a very residential location & about 45 mins from Montego Bay’s downtown. If you are looking to enjoy time off the resort & experience the island, be prepared to have a little ride to do so. 5. Spa - was okay. Deondra, my therapist was great and extremely knowledgeable. The hydratherapy is one Luke warm jacuzzi pool, a sauna room, and a steam room. 6. gym, the buttons on all of the ellipticals were not working so you were unable to change the intensity. The AC was not working so it was pretty hot. It was nice that the gym was 24 hours so early birds or night owls had a chance to go on their “normal” schedule. 7. Beach: small and no drink service if you are not a privilege member. Limited seating. Rocky when you get in the water. Directly next to the family resort so will see and hear kids running around. Overall the hotel has potential but I definitely would not consider it a 5 star resort as it stands today. On the fence on whether I would return on my next trip back to JA or not.
