Thank you Isabel!
The room was excellent, however housekeeping was unfortunately hit and miss. We enjoyed the pools and they had plenty of available loungers and umbrellas. Service from the pool bar was good. Having a 24 hour restaurant next to the pool was very convenient. Travelling between the 4 hotels in the complex was easily managed by the shuttle service which was quite frequent with minimal waiting times. We found the evening entertainment to be quite varied and quite good. Food in the buffet was quite varied and we were always able to find something to eat. We travelled to the hotel by mini bus and the inbound journey was approximately 90 minutes. Leaving the resort to return to the airport required a 5:30 a.m. pickup and took 2 hours as we had to visit several other resorts to pickup passengers. This should be seen as a short coming of the Tour Company not the hotel. We visited the resort during the low season and found that the hotel management had chosen to manage the reduced guest volume by running the A La Carte restaurants on a part time basis. This made acquisition of reservations for the restaurants extremely difficult to obtain and very frustrating for guests. We were saved, and our overall vacation rescued by the hard work of Isabel, one of the staff who went above and beyond to obtain reservations for us. Without her help our overall memory of the trip would have been very different and it would have been unlikely that we would return to this resort.

Fantastic 14 day holiday at Sian Ka’an
We have returned from a 14 night holiday to Sian Ka’an and couldn’t fault a single thing. Rooms - they are fairly basic in decor, but that suits the jungle location. Fresh towels daily, bed changed every second day. Mini bar well stocked and replenished daily. Beds large and comfortable with plenty pillows. Turn down service provided on some of the nights too. Food- excellent food in both the buffets and a la carte restaurants. I can’t understand anyone who couldn’t find something to eat here. The buffet never felt overcrowded or too noisy. Food always replenished and chefs visibly checked the food on display regularly. Fresh food always being cooked in front of you at breakfast too. All staff here were super attentive and friendly. We visited during the Mexican, Asian, Italian and Gala buffet nights. The other nights we used the a la carte restaurants which were all fantastic- our favourites were Alux, Maiko and Ku’uk. The welcome drinks in each were also lovely. Also used the Cenote 24hr bar for lunch and a breakfast, which were also delicious. Entertainment- the daily entertainment team - Delmar, Katia, Pamela, Emelia and Alex were wonderful. Such friendly, smiling hard working people. They certainly made our holiday a little bit more special and I hope they are recognised for their dedication and input. No pressure to take part in the games and can be completely avoided by sitting at the ‘quiet pool’. There are 3 pools and provide different environments for whatever your taste is. Other hotels - the shuttle carts to the other hotels were regular and efficient, often with just ourselves on them. We never had to wait long and the drivers were friendly. The other resorts are livelier and therefore noisier and busier, but gives you an option to pick your vibe. The beach does suffer from seaweed but that’s Mother Nature. Plenty of sun loungers and parasols as well as beach bars to use. We also took part in the bird watching walk with Mario from ‘eco Bahía’ who was brilliant- showing us lots of wildlife, a cenote and shared his knowledge. The staff here are super friendly, hard working, immaculate and always happy. Due to this, I am sure we will return again.

Great stay at the Luxury Sian Ka'an
We had a blast. I had read mixed reviews, but after going, I decided that there were people who had just found things to complain about. First the best - the staff are friendly, caring and take pride in their work and the resort. Always a smile and a hello. A shout out to my main lady, Ms. Eglaydy at the buffet, who was so awesome! She made every morning a pleasure with her smile. She always remembered our names, taught me a little Spanish, and always had our drinks ready. She decorated our table the morning that we left. I will truly miss her. Isabel in guest services that worked magic with dinner reservations. She was so appreciated. Delmar and Pamela with the entertainment were amazing. The games were fun and very entertaining. The pools were clean and were never over crowded, the rooms were clean and spacious. Yes, the resort has bugs. It is in a jungle type area, but there were never any in the room. The resort was very well kept. The trolley ran often to the other resorts, but I would suggest leaving 30 minutes before your reservation, as they do stop along the way picking people up. Now the good - the buffet was good. Keeping in mind it is to feed the masses. There was a lot to choose from so I couldn't possibly see why someone couldn't find something you liked. If you can't, and are that picky, you should probably stay home. I didn't like everything, but I liked having the option to try it. We were always full, never hungry. The a la cart restaurants, if you can get reservations, were OK. Nothing was really so good that I wanted to go back. A shout out to Hermelindo at Ku'uk, who provided great service and drinks. Portifino had an amazing beet carpaccio. The coffee machine at the snack bar had good cappuccino and other coffees. Now, the needs improvement - the Cenote snack bar was a disaster all the way around. It took forever to get food, and then it was terrible or severely overcooked. We tried it twice, and the only positive is the coffee and wine machine. The mixed drinks need a bit of improvement. They are so sugary sweet and have little or watered down alcohol that you could drink 50 and never get a buzz. That's it. A side note, we did not use the beach due to the excess seaweed, no fault of the resort. They cleaned, but it was just so much. Overall, it was excellent. It's a very good value for the money. If you are expecting rooms and food from the Ritz Carlton, you will be disappointed, but if you go with an open mind and positive attitude, you will have a great time.

A great hotel but some tweaks needed
A lovely hotel with clean and tidy rooms but starting to look a little tired and in need of a refurb. The staff are brilliant and are always more than happy to assist. The buffet food is hit and miss but the food in the Cenote snack bar is excellent. For anyone who’s gluten intolerant, you can pre-order pizza, pasta and waffles but there isn’t anything readily available. There is a section for gluten free cakes and bread but the bread was always stale. I managed to get by but it would be great if the hotel could address this. The pool area is ok. We only used it a couple of times and spent the majority of our pool time over at Tulum and Akumul which are only a 10 minute buggy ride away. The hotel has a lovely calm atmosphere and it was lovely returning back there after spending time at one of the livelier hotels.
