    Average food with sub-par service

Buffets We ate at both for breakfast, lunch and dinner and the food wasn’t great compared to other resorts. They had different cuisine options (e.g. Dominican, American, Asian, pasta, etc.) but it didn’t taste that great. We also waited several minutes into our meal before we were greeted and drink orders to be taken. At other resorts, we have our drink orders before approaching the buffet and received water immediately. We often had to flag someone down for drinks. As a result, we didn’t leave a tip and my husband gives generous tips. A la carte restaurants Most of the a la carte restaurants are the same across all Palladium resorts. This stay we ate at Portofino and La Adelita. I only ate the salad bar at Portofino because I wasn’t hungry, but my husband enjoyed his seafood Paella. It was our first time eating at La Adelita and it was surprisingly good. The fajitas, shrimp and buffet were flavorful and cooked well. Disclaimer: I have a gluten sensitivity so I didn’t have a lot of options to choose from. Most options were things I don’t eat or didn’t want to eat. If you have a gluten sensitivity and want to visit the DR, I recommend staying at Iberostar. The food was better and offered more GF options. Service The service was inconsistent. Most of the staff we encountered were polite, but the establishment can improve on the cart service. We waited 45 mins for someone to retrieve our bags for our departure where we used What’s App and spoke to someone via phone to make the request. I saw carts drive past several ppl who tried to flag down or request a cart without any acknowledgement. I always received acknowledgement even if the driver was unable to accommodate me because they can see I’m a travel club member by my bracelet. If you’re not travel club, expect to be passed by a few times. Rooms We were on the Grand Palladium Punta Cana side and the room wasn’t anything to brag about with a very small balcony and small drying rack. We were supposedly in a poolside room. While we’re close to a pool, we had a garden view. No big deal, just wasn’t expected. If I were to ever come back, I’d stay on the TRS side. It’s looked nicer. Entertainment The casino is a nice touch as a different activity for adults only. I won $30 on the blackjack table so I don’t have any complaints there. ;-) There was live singing in the lobby one night we were able to enjoy. Cleanliness The bathrooms, restaurants and rooms were all clean. The adult only pool had a lot of organic debris which is expected when near a lot of trees but it’s not for me. I spent the rest of my pool time at the spa pool which was much cleaner in terms of debris and the pool floor. The water was also cooler in temperature which is very appreciated in the hot weather. Location The hotel is only 15-20 mins from the airport which is really nice because who wants to spend an hour in a car after a flight. It also wasn’t far from our excursion to the beach. Overall I’d rate this place a 3/5 stars in comparison to the Grand Palladium properties located in Riviera Maya, Puerto Vallarta and Jamaica.

Amazing Vacation Spot and Excellent Customer Service!

While our hotel accommodations were amazing, the customer service we experienced made all the difference. Our concierge Celia was absolutely amazing. She made sure that we had everything we needed to enjoy our trip. Rafael and Roselyn from the Spa ensured my spa experience was stress free and relaxing. Zentropia was top tier, I absolutely loved my hot sone massage and hydro therapy. Ricky and Oscar stood out amongst the transportation team. Ricky went above and beyond to make sure we got to our destinations safely. Oscar always greeted us with kindness. His assistant to our room and when we were departing back home was invaluable. I appreciate the entire staff!

Disappointed with My Stay – Would Not Recommend for a Relaxing Vacation

I stayed at the Grand Palladium Punta Cana Resort & Spa from June 21–25, 2025, and unfortunately, my experience was disappointing from the moment I arrived. While waiting in line to check in, I noticed that other guests were being offered a welcome drink — a nice green cocktail — but my sister and I were not. I tried not to think much of it, but I couldn’t help but notice that the guests receiving the drinks were of lighter complexion, which left us feeling excluded and unwelcome. Although check-in time was scheduled for 3:00 PM, my room wasn’t ready until 4:00 PM. During the wait, we had lunch at the à la carte restaurant “El Behique.” Sadly, the food was underwhelming — limited chicken options, cold dishes, and poorly cooked meat. This set the tone for the rest of our meals. Every time we dined at one of the à la carte restaurants, whether for breakfast, lunch, or dinner, the food was consistently cold and lacked variety. Even arriving right when the restaurant opened didn’t make a difference. The lunch and dinner menus were practically identical, which became repetitive quickly. Another inconvenience was that bottled water was not available at any of the restaurants or bars — only filtered water was provided. Bottled water was limited to the rooms, which was frustrating in the Caribbean heat. The resort grounds themselves are beautiful and expansive, housing four hotels in one large property. However, the size also means it’s busy and crowded, especially with children, and getting reservations at the better restaurants proved difficult. The room had some minor maintenance issues — slow drainage in the sinks and bathtub, and visible damage from a past earthquake (a section of the wall had collapsed). Even room service meals arrived cold. The beach was another letdown. It was covered in seaweed and not well-maintained, making it uninviting to swim or relax. Additionally, the beach and even pool areas were filled with vendors constantly approaching guests to sell excursions or jewelry, which made it difficult to unwind. If you’re looking for a quiet, peaceful beach or pool experience, this resort may not be the right choice. Overall, while the resort has potential with its beautiful location and property, the quality of service, food, and lack of relaxation make it a place I would not return to or recommend to others looking for a stress-free getaway.

    Just NO

100 characters is not enough space to express my dissatisfaction! I would not recommend this place ever, and as it was my first resort experience there, it was also my last. Rooms - 0/10 Food - 2/10 Service - 3/10 (and the 3 is ONLY because of the three workers who tried to help me) Entertainment 4/10.

Hope this helps with your Grand Palladium Punta Cana stay

Took the Nexus travel bus from Punta Cana Airport to the resort. The first thing I noticed was a well maintained property that gave the tropical vibes. The language barrier was definitely a challenge throughout the stay. I was upset by our wristbands malfunctioning after the first day. The loft TV wasn't working either, but the maintenance staff changed it out that night. The room phone was useless because there wasn't a visible dial guide. If you are going to the beach, expect lots of seaweed this time of the year. The buffet was subpar, but you can make it work. Tipping is definitely appreciated, and the staff will remember you for it. Getting around the property(ies) is a breeze since there are plenty of shuttles. Bring your sunscreen or prepare to spend $30 and up for a tube. The pool is the spot to be, but the family pool stop giving out towels at 6p and they close an hour after that.
