Not impressed
Me and my family (kids 5, 8, and 10) stayed in Costa Rica for a little over a week. Our first resort more island was incredible. We then visited this resort for 4 nights, and we were pretty disappointed with our stay. The resort seemed dated, although the room was spacious, freshly painted and appeared newly decorated. The first afternoon we got there, the toilet kept clogging. A repair man came once and "fixed" it, but then it just clogged again. After the second time they came to look at it, it seemed to be repaired. We also found that the AC was erratic; one bedroom was crazy hot and the living room area was freezing. This all inclusive resort clearly needs to take better care of their staff, because they all seemed miserable. Not friendly, not helpful and overworked. The morning of our first breakfast, we were told they didn't have room for us and to try upstairs. When we went upstairs, we were admonished for being up there because it wasn't open. When we came back down, we felt like we were bothering them! One night, we ate at the Italian restaurant, and there was ONE server tending to all of the guests. He was working his butt off, but no one can keep up with that many tables alone! It felt like the staff was just trying to survive. Please take better care of them! We did book this trip through a travel agent, and we complained to our travel agency after a couple of nights there. We mentioned how awful the food was (you could get the same quality at a school cafeteria), as well. And I will say - once we complained, they definitely tried to kick it up a notch. The rep at guest service sent us wine and treats, and setup a private dinner for us. The chef greeted us personally and designed a menu based on our preferences. The food was better that evening; not amazing, but better. The staff overall seemed more friendly and attentive at that point, as well. Seems like you just have to complain to get decent service? Overall, being a guest at this resort felt like being on a conveyor belt; they're just churning out the bare minimum to get as many people in and out as they can. The location was nice; just walk across the street to get to the beach, and some spots to walk to nearby. We have stayed at several all inclusives in the past, and for the cost, this one just seems like it should be much better.

Amazing family vacation!!
Our family recently had a wonderful 5 night stay in Margaritaville Beach Resort! The location was perfect with direct access to the beautiful beach only steps away from the pool. The entire staff throughout the resort was incredibly friendly and helpful. The sunset cruise booked through the resort with Captain John and Gerard was amazing, I highly recommend! We did the all-inclusive plan, and the food and drinks did not disappoint. Everything was great! Live music every night and plenty of activities at the pool with the amazing Margaritaville staff! We can't wait to visit again after the renovations are complete! Until then, Pura Vida Margaritaville!

Paradise, Relaxation, and Fun!
Margaritaville was awesome! We had an amazing time lounging by the pool, dipping in the ocean, and drinking at the bar. All of the staff were so accommodating and friendly. The rooms were spacious and comfortable. We loved the adventures (zip lining, horseback riding, ATVs, snorkel cruise) and it was easy to get there from the hotel! We cannot wait to go back! Special shout out to David at the bar for always making us feel at home!

Major Tours Costa Rica at front of Margaritaville your Best tour guide
Hotel was excellent and very friendly staff. Food was good and they had a good selection. The best ice cream was across the street at pan de azúcar. I recommend Major tour guide for tours he was very pleasant to deal with and had the best prices. The river ride was the best experience. Overall I loved the area and the hotel was peaceful and comfortable.

NOT wasting away in Margaritaville
This was one of the most beautiful countries we’ve ever visited, so perhaps I’m viewing it through rose-colored glasses :). The highlight of this hotel was the staff—everyone was incredibly friendly, helpful, and pleasant. We especially loved Priscilla, who led arts and crafts sessions with the kids. I wish I had gotten the names of everyone who made our stay so wonderful. Other pros include the great location right on a beautiful beach, and the food was quite good. Apart from breakfast and the occasional lunch buffet, all other meals were made-to-order. The resort is small, which made the experience more personable. Cons: It’s over an hour’s drive from the airport and most attractions. Also, the bathroom looked worn and could use some updating.
