Jul 02, 2025Sadly I wouldn’t return. More cons than pros
Rated a 4*+ but I’d say a 4* at best. Overall we enjoyed our stay but wouldn’t return for several reasons. Rooms were nice, spacious and clean, however despite all the rooms in the hotel having a sea view, walking out the door we were met with a horrible muddy swamp as our view. Beach is tiny and absolutely disgusting! Full of seaweed and it stinks! Trying to get to the sea hammocks felt like walking on slim! Bar staff and pool waiters were great! All cocktails were fantastic and we felt looked after! Alexi was great and she made our days very relaxing with drinks flowing and a constant smile given. Food at the hotel was good, with a good variety! However the service especially in the Italian restaurant was atrocious! Waiting an hour plus before our food was served, sometimes the food would arrive before the drinks. No offer of drink refills including water. Terrible and slow service and waiters rude. Jenny however is very sweet and always greeted with a smile when taking you to your seat. In my opinion the sun beds were really uncomfortable. Prior to booking, pictures showed sunbeds with cushions on them which they seem to have got rid of… you now have to pay for the privilege to have sunbeds with cushions which I felt was cheeky. Considering you’re staying in a hot country, the restaurant requires you to wear trousers if you wish to sit inside. Personally a silly rule I feel. Fizzy drinks including beer are all served flat which is disappointing. Food served when ordering room service was terrible. Cold, stale and not the same food served in the restaurants. We stayed in room 6020B and every night until 1am we were kept awake with music and vibrations from the ground floor. We were 6 floors up and could hear the music word for word. - not ideal! Location of the hotel again isn’t great. You have to get a cab everywhere. I’d recommend organising your own uber and not a taxi through the hotel as the price is agreed through the uber app instead of other taxi firms trying to take advantage and change the price. Spa is extremely over priced! Don’t pay what the app says! There is a spa concierge who will knock off like 50-60% to make it look and sound better but he’s very pushy. Nice but pushy! He booked us in for massage without even agreeing a price. Don’t pay anymore than $129 pp for a massage with hydro treatment after. - personally I didn’t rate it and wouldn’t recommend a massage or the spa, not for the money. However I must say Oscar was a lovely lad and tried his best to make our experience as good as possible. The hotel is listed as a resort but it’s tiny. There’s no grounds for you to walk around. It has a real corporate feel about it. Many business seems to host meetings at the hotel which shows it’s not all about tourism. The coco cafe is great. Good coffee, milkshakes and snacks! Again staff really good. I’d argue that this isn’t really a couples holiday hotel. In my opinion it’s very focused on families. Not an issue for us but just a point for others… be prepared for a lot of kids to be running around! Entertainment was mainly aimed at the kids too. Magic shows, circus shows, bingo etc…. You didn’t really see many adults showing an interest. … again I believe the hotels target customers are families. The positioning of the hotel is an odd one too, if you love sunbathing and long for a tan, then due to the hotel being built away from the beach instead of along the beach, the swimming pool looses the sun around 1/2pm every day. We experienced a few times other holiday makers moving other people towels off sunbeds which isn’t fair. Maybe something for the hotel to monitor. Finally be ready to tip for everything! It’s top central! We found especially in the Italian restaurant that if you didn’t tip you didn’t get looked after. If you want good service then take plenty of $$$ I’d urge holiday makers to look at other hotels if coming to Cancun. I wouldn’t recommend dream vista sadly.

Great vacation! Wonderfully customer service
Enrique the waiter at the World Cafe gave excellent service! We will miss him. The food was good. Tacos were exceptional at Vista Tacos with Moises! He is a great taquero! Oscar the waiter at Vista Tacos was very attentive and friendly. Muchísima gracias!

Enrique was an excellent waiter at Dreams Vista, he made sure to ask me if I had enough lemonade or always made sure I was all set and good to go on food and drinks! He was very polite and on top of his hospitality game! 10/10 would recommend

Family Vacation
This hotel is definitely average among it's sister Dream properties. Let's start with the aesthetics. It's not going to wow you. We have been to multiple Dreams location around the Caribbean and Mexico and Dreams Vista is the most underwhelming one we have been to. It's clean so that's a plus. The rooms are clean and decently decorated however the walls are super thin. You will hear EVERYTHING next door. You will hear every chair move and every drawer move. The bed is comfy and the house keeping staff very nice. The service to restock and clean the rooms is quick and efficient. Here are the pros: The food is good. The plaza has good tacos. The sweet treats area at the plaza is very cool. Coco cafe has some of the best coffees and ice cream. The pool is not crowded. The cold plunge in the spa is excellent. Close to the ferry for Isla Mujeres. Cons: It's pretty boring here. Unless you have excursions set up often or play golf there's not a lot to do other than eat and pool. The activities were lacking. You won't get a lot of sun after 4pm because of the way the building if faced. You'll get a great view so swamp land on the opposite side of the pool. Over all it wasn't bad but definitely would not return. I'm a UVC member and the update was a waste of time. They'll offer a massage or $50 leisure cash. The massage is not an accurate description as they have $100 towards a $200 plus massage which means you will still pay out of pocket. Don't wait your time .
