I recently stayed at Iberostar JOIA and honestly, it was one of the most unique and relaxing resort experiences I’ve ever had. The property has this green, nature-filled vibe that you don’t see often. As soon as you walk in, you can smell the clean, fresh air, and you're greeted with cool towels and a homemade tea that includes honey from bees right there on the property. It was such a thoughtful and refreshing welcome. The resort itself is on the quieter side, which was exactly what I was looking for, though it might not be everyone’s cup of tea. That being said, if you're visiting for the premium food and drinks, this is definitely the place to be. The restaurants served prime steaks and lobsters that would easily go for over $100 in the States, and the bars were fully stocked with everything from Jameson and Jack Daniels to top-shelf Mexican tequila.

Amazing!!
Everyone here was so nice! The room was amazing, they gave us an upgrade for a good deal. Housten and Jesus were my butlers and they helped out so much with every little thing. The views were gorgeous and the staff was amazing! Alex, Will Smith, Chocolate, and the rest of the activity crew were all amazing! The bartenders were all amazing. There was an amazing guy who got my wife and I drinks the whole time but I forgot his name :( He hung around and took orders by the edge of the infinity pool, hot tub, and the cabanas a lot. He was great!

Great resort….Only issue is the staff doesn’t speak good English. Everything else was great. House keeping was on point, cleaned my room at least 2 times a day. The food was great at the buffet. The other restaurants were ok, food was not that great. No reservations except for the hibachi. Top shelf liquior at the bar, the staff was great. The beach had to much seaweed, so could not enjoy the sea water. Pool area was clean, you have to get up early to get a cabana or beach chairs with umbrellas. I would highly recommend this resort for the price you can’t beat 8 out of 10

Jose and Ray are THE BEST butlers! They made our trip extra special by taking care of all of our requests, no matter how big or small. They even surprised us by decorating the room for our birthdays. Truly a special team! Pedro , our Concierge, provided great information about the resort and made us feel welcome upon our arrival.

Beyond Expectations!
My husband I spent one week from June 7 to 14th at the Joia Bavara by Iberostar and it was beyond our expectations. Everything from the hotel staff, the resort itself, the food, the alcohol selection, the restaurants, pool, the beach. I could go on and on. Everything was perfect. I celebrated my 60th birthday there and had champagne and a lovely cake waiting for us in our room. After finding this all inclusive resort; we truly wouldn't look anywhere else. The staff work very hard to make your experience exceptional. Our room faced the lobby / lake area and we were on the 4th floor. We could see the ocean as well. It was perfect. We spent most of the day on the beach; very easy to get a palapa on the beach at anytime. Was very surprised we had beach service as we did not upgrade to have that. It was a lovely touch. At the end of the day we would make our way to the pool. We could find a cabana around 3:30 and we were fine with that. We aren't pool people. If you are; you need to be down at the pool by 6:00 / 6:30 or you won't get covering. The food as I mentioned above was out of this world. Not one bad meal. It is a smaller resort so you aren't dealing with a thousand guests; half of that amount and it was a perfect size for us; easy to get around; so convenient. There is a great coffee shop there; definitely don't miss that. At this time of year there was sargassum; the workers cleaned it each day to the best of their ability. Mother Nature is a force. We still went in the ocean most days; there was one day where it was not desirable to do so, but this is absolutely not a poor reflection on the resort whatsoever. If you don't want to experience this - don't go in the summer. We cannot say enough about our experience here and we will without a doubt be back next year. Thank you to all who go above and beyond to make the experience so beautiful for your guests.
