Awesome thanksgiving vacation
The grounds were beautiful, the beaches amazing, never had a bad meal!! Porfi the burger guy made the best burgers and with his personality kept us coming back!! Victor…. Our favorite waiter! Never missed a beat! All the restaurant were delicious…… had a great time and would highly recommend!!

Would not stay here again
I was excited to try this resort out, let’s be honest Cancun is full of great 5 star resorts, and it’s easy for the staff to be friendly and helpful when everything’s going smoothly, what sets one apart from the other is how they deal with you when there’s been a problem, and for that reason they get a 2 star rating from me. My wallet was stolen from the pool area on my first day, not a great start, it contained all the pesos I had (around £100 worth), plus my credit cards and drivers license. It was left inside a bumbag which was inside a beach bag tucked away under my towel, so this was deliberate. I reported it the next day. I was there for 5 more days and not once was I contacted by the staff or hotel manager to ask what happened or offer an apology, I had to go to concierge every day to ask for an update, as the days went on and I realised my wallet wasn’t going to turn up I asked for an incident report for my insurance claim, Paco at the concierge desk had the most dismissive hostile and condescending attitude I’ve ever experienced from a hotel personelle, I work in customer services and wouldn’t dream of treating a customer the way I was treated. And he wasn’t the only one. Another lady whose name I didn’t get wasted an hour of my time on my last evening, i went to collect my incident report, and for some reason she told me someone from security was coming down to speak about the incident, i waited 45 minutes only to be told by the next person on shift that no one was ever coming. I eventually got Marco the nighttime manager to come and speak to me as I wanted to complain about the lady on the desk, he came in all guns blazing, proceeded to tell me that he knew about my case and was I aware of the signs around the pool stating that personal belongings are the responsibility of the owner! A slap in the face if ever I’ve had one. I’m fully aware I left my bag by the pool at my own risk, but at a 5 star resort (and I’ve stayed at many) you don’t expect pickpockets. I was expecting a goodwill gesture, some help to get some cash so I could buy gifts and tip the staff, anything would’ve been appreciated, but instead i got read the riot act. I was also promised an email from Marco so I’d have his details incase I needed anything more for my insurance claim. I didn’t get that either (unsurprisingly). In summary, I will not be spending my hard earned money at Live Aqua again, (no I don’t want credit for my next say) nor will I be recommending it to my friends who are planning on visiting next year. I would like to give an honourable mention to Daniel, the yoga instructor, a class act and one of the most authentic people I have met on the trip, thank you for helping me keep zen during my stay Daniel.

Another incredible stay
We had an amazing time at Live Aqua. The most beautiful sunrises, stunning beach, turquoise waters and gorgeous spa like facilities. But it’s the service, food and employees that keep us coming back every year. Ruddy and Maggie as our dynamic butler duo helped make this trip extra special. If you are a foodie, this is the place for you. There are five on site restaurants with unique menus full of tasty items. If you want to eat with your feet in the sand devouring ceviche, you can! If you’re craving Asian fusion, or Italian or fresh seafood or a giant steak, sushi, crepes, pizza, bbq…..the list goes on and on. Don’t forget to get a smoothie from Marco…..I stop daily after my workout. And speaking of exercise, the gym here is fantastic. There are also daily activities planned and organized by Franky and Taylor who will keep you entertained and active if you wish. From water aerobics to beach volleyball, tequila tasting and archery there is something for everyone. Or you can relax by one of the many pools or lounge on the expensive white sand beach and do absolutely nothing. The spa is lovely and offers a full menu of services. My favorite is a morning massage on the beach. We had an incredible week full of fun, sun and friendship. Home now feeling re-energized and grateful for such an incredible trip.

hidden gem!
me and husband (26 y/o couple) booked through costco, went here for our honeymoon and it did not disappoint! food: food was amazing! there wasnt a place where we didnt enjoy the food. hidden garden is good but overated in my opinion. MB restaurant was also very overated. the seafood corner was really good, we only tried it once because its tucked away in a corner and completely forgot about it. room service is included and was really nice to be able to order at 2am- the food was also just as incredible as the restaurants. the breakfast buffet and alacarte dinner at siete was exceptional as well! sushi stall was ok, not the best there are also a few burger/grill stalls around the resort which was convinient for quick bites or if you are waiting in line for seat. we didnt wait much for seating anyway, maybe just for dinner at MB (1.5 hrs) and Azur (30mins) - we have only waited for seats on 2 occasions, breakfast at azur was qute fast. the restaurants were also really nice and gave us a few "congrats on the honeymoon" and "have a safe trip home" dessert! we are so thankful as they were very sweet in giving us such kind words. lastly, there are drink stations everywhere! so ur never dehydrated when it gets really hot! staff: we were greeted by the marketing team, joel, who tried to give us discounts for excursions and such in return of signing up for the membership. he wasnt very pushy and didnt make us uncomfortable and always had a positive response when we decline. this is very different compared to other resorts selling their "memberships". very respectable guy. we also got a welcome champagne from the resort which was a really nice touch! the servers were all really hospitable, we met one server at siete named Carlos who served us a few times in different locations and he is one of the most memorable staff we have met in the resort. always smiling, always making conversation, very down to earth guy. we had another server named jeremias who was also very nice and always made sure that we have everything we need. everyone in siete was generally really friendly and i enjoyed the small talk i had with the staff the burger stall cook, porfirio, is also another memorable staff member we met! we ate at his stall when we first got to the resort and he gave us information on the different places we could eat at and welcomed us warmly. he was one of the people we visited often as he is a very down to earth guy and loved the little time we spent with him. the staff at the seafood corner by far has the best chemistry when it comes to working together. they were like family to each other and overall gave us a positive experience when we visited their area. from the front desk, to the cocktail server and the food servers, they are very hospitable. the environment that the resort has given to the staff is very humane. we spoke to some of them and it looks like this resort takes good care of their staff and because they love their job, it really shows when they interact with us tourists! environment: the resort is very clean. the pool is well maintained. the beds in the rooms are always prepared and cleaned for you, they prepare the robes on the beds, and tidy up the place. everything is accessible, there are multiple malls and things nearby. entertainment: they have alot of activities in the resort. a few that we tried were: -circus show, buffet dinner was included so it was great! -silent disco, was hillarious but really fun! -caricatures, had to pay out of pocket for this but LOVED it! -magic show, the magician was very funny and entertaining. -kahoot, unfortunate but when i got there, no one else was there, its understandable as the resort is an adults only resort and has alot of people from older generations. entertainment is always packed so i say to go a little earlier than the start time to get a good spot! excursions may be pricey(without signing up for membership). check local areas (malls), through costco, expedia etc first before booking! Final Thoughts: Live Aqua is definetly a must go to resort. we are already making plans to come back! i also recommend talking to some of the tourists as they know the ins and outs of the resort as well as things to do outside as most of the older generation here are reoccuring guests.

Not The Same
Came back after a couple of years, before that I had stayed at this resort several times and it used to be my #1 choice. But unfortunately I found it is no longer the same and no longer my favorite resort. Not the Same I had a very unpleasant time during check-in and had to complain to the manager. The person helping us tried to stick us in a lower class room than what I had booked. This would never happen in the past. The room they finally gave us needed remodelling. Furniture was getting old, the door was hard to open and the balcony doors were even harder to open (I actually had to open it for by wife each time). All the extras are gone. Things that the hotel would do to go the extra mile and set them apart from the others are gone. No more complementary beautiful rice art on your bed, fruit plates or sparkling wine for special occasions. No more receiving new guess with welcoming drinks and refreshing towels. There are more things I could list. Same MB restaurant was good but not quite the same as before. But Other restaurants’ food seem the same. Overall good food. Fortunately, The main thing that made this resort my #1 choice is stills the same and it is what keeps me from rating the resort even lower this time ( I used to rate them with 5 stars). The quality and friendliness of their servers and bar staff is #1. My list of #1 most notable people: - Tino the bartender from beach bar - Azur restaurant chefs: Mario, Coyin, Moises Thank you for making our vacation memorable.
