A tropical paradise in Mexico!
I'm on my last day of a 14 night stay at this resort and feel compelled to sing is praise as one of our best holidays! Breaking it down from the room, food, drink and amenities: Room was amazing, we were fortunate to be in one of the more modernised rooms as I was aware there are some older types. The air conditioning was fantastic, it's always on, even when your not in it so coming from the heat it was a welcome relief. The Room was cleaned everyday and water, beer, coffee, soft drinks were replenished. They do a fantastic job of cleaning. Food was again, excellent. Even the buffet was great with a huge choice. There are several areas to good lunch from outside by the pool to quiet areas like the food truck (touch screen ordering) which are open most of the day but the main buffet area had such a great and varied range we went most days for breakfast and lunch. If you tip often $20 Mexico pesos (=£90p) you'll have a better experience as the hard working staff will see you and get you seated quickly under air conditioning. The a la carte restaurants are really the star here. Waited on with drinks and food brought to you with several restaurants scattered throughout Tulum and Coba of which you can use both. We had 6 allocated but if you enjoyed them you can go as often as you want as long as you but a bottle of wine. These are called some somelirs tables. Drinks, these again were exceptionally better than average with plenty of branded drinks such as bacardi, martini, bourbon like buffalo trace, campari etc. Their gin and tonics are great as they measure the gin and use cans of tonic. Most hotels put half gin and flat tonic from a bottle so it's rare. They have lots of cocktails on offer and made me a great negoni which is not easy. If you sit they come to you rather than queue. Amenities, our room was a 5 minute walk to the main area but they have regular golf carts going back and forth. There are 3 pools up top and a kids one at the bottom. we never struggled to get a good spot. Each pool has its own style, the main one is where the entertainment, swim up bar and louder music is but there are two closer to reception which I prefer. Depends what your going for but rest assured you'll find one to your taste. Great evening entertainment was on each night too but worth paying for the origin and Mexican one. Some tips before you travel. Get thicker sun screen as it's very hot here and the cans just don't work as well against the heat even at factor 50. Trust me on this. Take some american dollars as the exchange rates are terrible and even the cash machines take nearly a tenner per transaction. This was overall one of my best family holidays, we are a family of 3 and will definitely be back.

great hotel,cant use beach
hotel food, pools, staff, gardens, animals, all 5 starr, origen show and mexican show at hacienda excellent , junior suite rooms need upgrading,THE BEACH IS A DISASTER AREA it is covered in sea weed up to 3 feet deep along most of the coastline, the smell is terrible, this is not the hotels fault as a change in currents is driving seaweed ashore every day despite many people/equipment trying to clear it, great place to holiday but dont expect even get a paddle in the sea.

Loved this place.
24 of us went here for a family reunion holiday. We had a fantastic time. This resort is beautiful, shame about the beach but unfortunately they can't control mother nature. We had different kinds of rooms some where lovely others were a bit dated and needed a little attention but were spotless and beds were super comfy. I was in 33511. Our maid was lovely cleaned our room everyday with fresh towels also. All the staff work very hard and are very friendly. The buffet has loads to choose from but food could be warmer. All the pool areas have loads of sunbeds and shades, but if u want to spend the day at the main pool you will need to be up early to secure a good spot. Kids loved the kids pool and you can use the kids pool at coba which is even better. Loads of activities that you can book from hotel. The la carte restaurants are good. and don't believe on here that drinks are watered down there not. Would I recommend this hotel.....Definitely we all had a great time and were sad to leave. Just a couple of recommendations for hotel. Beer mats for tables. You definitely need more seating outside your main bar at night time. But these are just suggestions. Nothing stopped our enjoyment. Thanks for a great holiday.

Avoid if your after a beach holiday
Pretty poor advertised as a beach holiday and couldn't even get on the beach as the smell of rotten seaweed would make you sick

Relaxing resort
Lovely resort. Buffet restaurant was good with plenty of choice. Loved the shows that they had, especially Origen show which was amazing and well worth it. Lots of seaweed and questionable about how good they are at clearing it(saw one lady putting it back and another fishing it out from the same pile). Also recent fire at the neighbourhood resort we were not made aware of and this made booking the specialty restaurants impossible and couldn’t get in them apart from one(Brazilian) which was very good. Rooms very clean and great location (block 2). Lots of wildlife around the resort too which we loved.
