  One night in Japanese restaurant

  Christopher At the Japanese restaurant was very good. He took care of me and my family good. I wish all waiters are like him. He s always smiling Very nice Kind Respectful He was patient with us and was making sure we are taken care of in detail. Thank you

  Cristian at Sumptuori was very attentive

  The hotel is what you would imagine as a paradise! A highlight was Sumptuori a la carte which we booked that was included in the price. Cristian served us and was very attentive, especially with our toddler! Highly recommend. Definitely will be coming back at some point

  First Visit to Grand Palladium Costa Mujeres – A Mixed Experience with Great Service

  My family recently visited Grand Palladium Costa Mujeres for the first time, and while there were definitely some highs and lows, the service was definitely a standout. We chose this resort based on a recommendation from his work travel agent, and while it had some great aspects, there were also a few things that didn’t quite meet our expectations. Initial Experience and Room Upgrade We initially wanted to book the Junior Suite Panoramic Ocean View, but it wasn’t available during our stay. So, we opted for an upgrade to a room closer to the pool and beach for an additional USD $700, which also included a 50-minute massage for two and access to the hydrotherapy area. Unfortunately, there was a delay of about 30-45 minutes after check-in, and the Family Selection reception staff wasn’t as welcoming as I had hoped. The check-in process felt a little disorganized, which was a bit frustrating after a long travel day. Room and Butler Service Once we got to our room, we were introduced to our butler, Adrian, who made a great effort to accommodate our dining preferences. He and his colleague Rocio were fantastic, ensuring we had reservations at different restaurants each night and sending us daily activity schedules. They were always available and easy to reach, which added a personal touch that made the stay more enjoyable. Spa and Hydrotherapy We took advantage of the complimentary massage and hydrotherapy access, but unfortunately, it didn’t live up to expectations. My husband seemed happy with his massage, but mine was underwhelming—I had requested more pressure, but didn’t feel much difference. The treatment room was also quite cold, and the warm towels didn’t help much with comfort. The hydrotherapy area was a letdown too; the water was either cold or lukewarm. When I asked about it, I was told the wind was to blame, but my husband experienced the same issue later in the day, so I suspect it wasn’t just the weather. We ended up not using all six visits because of the temperature issue. Pool and Housekeeping Service On a more positive note, the Family Selection pool area was great. The staff, especially Yajaira, the pool butler, and Misael, the pool server, were incredibly attentive, offering towels and checking in on us without us needing to ask. They made the pool experience much more relaxing. The housekeeping team—Ana Vega and Adelfo—was also fantastic, always keeping our room spotless and leaving sweet touches like notes and chocolates. Dining Experience Dining was a mixed bag. The breakfast at Nest was a bit limited, but we appreciated the à la carte option alongside the buffet. Lunch at Isla Blanca was a better experience with more variety, and Poseidon was solid as well. For dinner, we had some highs and lows: At Nest, the lobster and steak were good, but the lack of flavorful sauces was a bit disappointing. Portofino offered decent Italian food, and the Sumptouri teppanyaki experience was fun, though we had to wait a bit for the table to fill up. La Adelita had great ambiance, but the Mexican food didn’t live up to the setting. We were particularly let down by Chang Tai (the Thai restaurant), where the food didn’t match our expectations for Thai cuisine, although the fish ceviche was good. On a positive note, El Dorado was a highlight—delicious sirloin steak, ribeye, and excellent onion soup. On our last night, we dined at Sumptouri again, where the service from Armando was outstanding, but the food didn’t quite impress us. Activities and Entertainment The activities were fun, but nothing really stood out as memorable. We attended one show, which was fine, but it didn’t leave a lasting impression. We didn’t have the chance to check out the adults-only clubs since we were traveling with our daughter, but that’s something we might explore on a future visit. Final Thoughts Overall, while there were some disappointments, particularly with the spa and dining, the service was exceptional, and that made a big difference in our experience. The staff in the Family Selection area went above and beyond, and their attention to detail really made our stay special. Despite some areas not meeting our expectations, we’d still recommend the resort to friends and would consider coming back for another stay.
