The staff was very friendly and courteous. They are bilingual so communication was not an issue. The free breakfast was incredible with a large selection of food and beverage! The restaurant is very good. They have a small souvenir shop in the lobby. I recommend a stay here!

The floor and the room have a strong smell of cigarette, the interior of building hasn't been renovated since 30 años. The room of $127 is high price. You can't find the hotel using Waze, because the entrance from the main street is blocked. There's no signs for directions and you have to guess.

Looks can be deceiving
The hallways and rooms were moldy, and they smelled old. I didn't want to stay there any longer, so that I wouldn't get sick. The furniture was old and did not give a clean or comfortable feeling. The lobby, bar, and restaurant at the entre gave a different impression. There, it was very clean, and the food was good.

We had a great stay at the Holiday Inn during our recent trip to Panama. We chose it due to the fact that it is one of the only hotels in the country where you can watch the ships passing through the Panana Canal, right at the Miraflores Locks. We had a 6th floor canal view room and we weren’t disappointed, however it would have nice if the windows opened or they had outside balconies where you could sit out and enjoy the view. The location is great, right on the edge of “The City of Knowledge”, formerly the old US base (Fort Clayton) where there is a lot of nice places to walk around and explore. There is a restaurant onsite and also a good restaurant just 100m away called La Taberna where we had a really good burger meal. All the hotel staff we encountered were very friendly and helpful. Our room was large, bright, and airy, very clean and comfortable. The TV and Wifi worked well but the AC seemed to make a lot of noise and unfortunately kept us from getting a good sleep. One of the biggest disappointments was the state of the gym. The facility itself was small and in need of cleaning. The multigym weight equipment was in a sorry state, definitely needs total replacement. There were a few dumbbells missing from the dumbbell set, and the 3x cardio machines were of low-medium quality and not in the best working condition. Holiday Inn really needs to make some improvements in the gym as it’s a bit of an embarrassment as it is. Overall we had a great stay and would definitely recommend it to other travelers, especially those wanting a unique canal view experience.

Hotel nice location. The buffet was nice. The communication skills very poor. There was no water one night passed the front desk and no one mentioned until i turned on faucet. The did not leave any water in the room. It would not be my first choice again.
