Feb 21, 2026Good hotel for a first timer! Location is everything!
We booked this hotel based on our experience as IHG members and have always had a nice experience and the location is excellent for dining out! There were many pros and cons for us! Pros Location is in the heart of it all! Walkable to beach and many restaurants so we chose to not do all inclusive. We did eat at the hotel restaurant Seabreeze, it was good and we enjoyed happy hour each day by the pool! Fun music and lively friendly bartenders. Check in was friendly and rooms were fine and served our basic needs, we stayed in Palm tower ocean view 5768 so top floor with a nice view of beach and twin and though there was some noise at night from club nearby it didn’t bother us. If this does for you I would request the other towers. We just didn’t know this. Rooms cleaned perfectly everyday, outside area very pretty and spacious, tours close by, we booked Pelican adventures and snorkeled and sailed, food close by… tons of great restaurants, just great location especially with young kids if you have. Cons we did travel on a winter break week bc I’m off from work so we expected it to be crowded and oh boy it was. I think more than the hotel could handle, no room on beach, or in water too crowded this week, towel hut ran out of towels by mid day, we didn’t know or receive an email from the holiday inn about our upcoming stay letting us know to reserve chairs and or Palapas, so my bad for not checking more deeply with my wonderful trip advisor friends bc they would of let me in on the palapas game. I read through the website but didn’t see anything about renting. You must reserve ahead of time which is ridiculous but it is so. One morning others took our chairs and left us bare lol. We got one palapa each day but it was in the back $10 so we dragged our chairs out for sun and then moved them back. We had to laugh at this. Why not it’s a vacation. Lucky the staff found us chairs when we needed them too. Also they are too close together no privacy at all in fact the closest I’ve ever sat next to others at a hotel and we are well traveled in the US and abroad so we have had other beach experiences but like I said I didn’t do my homework bc it was just me and my hubby on this vacation. We loved renting a car and just seeing the island so beautiful Overall, I can see the draw of Aruba, perfect weather, all staff and taxi drivers very friendly, good places to eat and to stay but not on winter break… for US. we prefer a quieter experience that’s all.Im giving it four stars bc I’m sure its better on quieter times.

A Big Thank you to Kevin Anderson and all the staff at H.I. It was an outstanding stay. Property was well maintained and all the staff were helpful efficient. Special shout out to Mary at the front desk, John the bell hop, Smitty at the beach, Josealito at corals and of coarse Kevin for bringing back the spirt of H.I. Can’t wait to return. Exceptional waitress named Veronica at the breakfast buffet
We traveled as a family of 4 to the Holiday Inn- Aruba with two young kids, ages 4 and 6. We had a wonderful time! Everyone was so accommodating and warm, especially our waitress named Veronica, at the breakfast buffet. My daughter has a severe dairy allergy and she went above and beyond to ensure that the chef made her dairy free pancakes every morning. We were so impressed with Veronica’s kindness and thoughtfulness. It was effortless to bond with her in such a short amount of time.

This is our third stay in Aruba and the worst stay experience to date. Postives: Location, Ease of Finding Spot on Beach Negatives: Outdated room, worst hotel gym I've ever experienced, nonexistent beach service, towels are paper thin/short... We took every opportunity to leave the hotel to eat and experience the best Aruba has to offer.
