Feb 01, 2026Review for Viva Fortuna Beach by Wyndham – Bahamas
I recently stayed at Viva Fortuna Beach by Wyndham in the Bahamas. I knew going in that the hotel was older, which I was okay with, but unfortunately the rooms were not in great condition and were not as clean as expected. The buffet service was also disappointing — we were not served drinks, and overall the service there could really use improvement. That said, the food itself was actually good, and what truly made this trip enjoyable were the people who work there. In particular, meeting Theo was one of the highlights of our entire trip. Even though the service and rooms were lacking, Theo completely changed our experience for the better. Theo was extremely engaging, kind, and informative. He helped us with excursions, shared great information, and made both our daytime activities and nightlife fun and memorable. He truly went above and beyond, and our trip would not have been nearly as enjoyable without him. His positive energy and genuine care made a huge difference for us. If the hotel improves the room conditions and buffet service, this place could be much better. Despite the issues, meeting Theo made our stay worthwhile, and he deserves recognition for making our experience what it was.

Not to Expectations
Review of Viva Wyndham Fortuna Beach While Freeport is a beautiful island with a stunning beach and friendly staff, the resort itself is very rundown and clearly in need of major renovations. The overall condition does not match what you would expect from a resort at this price point. Food options were limited and repetitive, and the lack of variety became noticeable quickly. I was also disappointed by the inflexible checkout policy, especially when I was unwell and requested a short extension before heading to the airport. I would not recommend this resort during high season. At $2,000 per person, it is significantly overpriced and does not deliver value for money. The location has potential, but the resort needs serious upgrades to justify its rates.

Very good resort, staff was amazing. Had so much fun with staff like Theo, Daniel and hoveroni. Catamaran was very cool. Kayak and paddle boards are free, fun activity.

Amazing experience allyah was so amazing. This was a wonderful vacation and we will definitely be back. My boyfriend and I had a great time

The staff are family friendly; the food is good
Aaliyah served us very well in the diner. We were very pleased with her hospitality and friendliness toward our family. She was a great server. We look forward to returning to Viva again. It met the needs of our family.
