First Trip to Aruba

Loved Aruba, wish I had chosen to stay longer. Loved the location of the Tamarijn, however my room sucked. The ocean view was blocked by the wooden wall that was there so I had to walk a few feet down the beach to get a good view. There was always condensation on the ceiling and water constantly dripped from the ceiling. All in all, I would definitely stay at the Tamarijn again but would insist on a different room.

Pretty underwhelmed

My now wife and I stayed at the Tamarijn for our honeymoon at a very interesting time, because it was when Hurricane Matthew was passing by Aruba. This left everyone crowded in buildings with water dripping out of cracks in ceilings and light fixtures. Waves ate away at the side of the resort, destroying the cabanas and the boardwalk. Our last night on the resort we had a dinner reservation at the Palm Grille and showed up for our dinner to see the entire roof collapsed inward. Not a single employee told us that this happened and that we could go somewhere else. We found this out from another couple staying when they had the same thing happen to them. In fact, the same thing happened throughout the time we had bad weather. Due to having no local news, we never knew how much rain or how high the waves would be. Which is a problem if you're on the very first floor next to the ocean. It was again from people staying that told us that. To avoid potential flooding we ended up moving to a room upstairs. They definitely didn't do a good job adjusting with a storm. Moving on tho.. There were a couple days where the weather was pretty good. It was great that the resort and its sister resort, Divi were so close by. For the most part, this just meant we had access to the different restaurants. That was about it. Each resort only had one or two pools we could use at a time, with the best place to swim being Eagle Beach. Other than that, our time spent around the resort and off of it was that while everyone was friendly, that it was too touristy for our liking. If you don't want to lay around and drink every day and eat the same food everyday, then you'll need to spend a premium to do an excursion. Do your homework on these as well. Because some of them, like spending a day on another island is way overpriced and doesn't provide much different than what you can do at the Tamarijn. Perhaps my wife and I just aren't the types to sit around lounging and drinking for over a week. Just make sure you research this no thrills resort before booking.

10 year Anniversary bust

I have to start by saying I never write reviews as I'm always that person who loves and enjoys my vacations. However, I do feel I need to talk about this place. Additionally, is like to say I travel frequently around the world for work and this was my 3rd vacation this year so I do feel I e seen a lot to compare. First I contacted via email and phone for specifics on approx the area I'd like to stay that wasn't met at all which put a damper on my situation. I requested walk out ocean front since I was going to have my kids with me. One still naps and the other doesn't this would have given me the option to spend time outside next to the room while the other was napping. Instead, since I didn't get this we all had to come back to the room and my older daughter couldn't use the beach. Bummer. The breakfast and lunch options are just fair..very greasy etc. not a lot of healthy fresh food options. The dinners were all excellent for the most part. Beach was very nice - have to get up early for chairs but I was ok with that. Pools and rooms need a serious face life. Disappointing.. rooms are so small no place to even store your luggage for a family of four! Just really a bummer we never went on a honeymoon so I wanted something special for our 10 year! This was not special and just a plain disappointment .. really too bad.

Hotel Description

Tamarijn Aruba: It's Beauty and Luxury, All-Inclusively

If your family has been looking for an all-inclusive recipe for fun with a dash of chillin' out, check out Tamarijn Aruba where the good vibes are always ready to whisk your stress away. Sitting atop a gorgeous stretch of Druif Beach, this resort satisfies all your cravings. Since the all-inclusive package includes access to neighboring Divi Aruba, you get 2 resorts for one great deal, so indulge yourself as you bask beside the pool or on the sun-washed beach.

Between the two resorts, you'll find 9 restaurants to satisfy your hunger. If you're craving Italian, head to Paparazzi Restaurant. If you're leaning toward Asian, Ginger offers an eclectic mix of Asian fusion cuisine. Palm Grill lets you take the grill tongs and fix your own shrimp, swordfish or beef. For a culinary outdoor experience, Cunucu Terrace offers themed-dinner buffets in an open-air setting, while whispering waves and glittering stars add ambiance to the island experience.

Each night brings lively entertainment for the family, with karaoke, a live band, limbo or an exciting Mexican folklore show. Grown-up fun includes gambling at Alhambra Casino, less than one mile away by complimentary golf cart. You can also browse the casino bazaar, one of the only after-dark shopping areas in Aruba.

For daytime fun, you can sail, canoe or snorkel. Get a workout in at the modern fitness center, or grab your clubs and take a swing at the nine-hole golf course at Divi Village Golf & Beach Resort. Get hooked on rock climbing on the challenging 30-foot tower. The resort offers bicycles, so you can take a self-propelled, scenic tour of the area. Kids ages 6 to 12 can find their own fun at the resort's supervised kids' camp, while the grown-ups take advantage of rejuvenating spa services at Indulgence by the Sea at Divi Aruba. If you want even more adventure, why not consider an Aruba Safari off-road tour or the Palm Pleasure Sunset Sail.

All the comfortable rooms at Tamarijn Aruba face the beach, so no matter where you stay, your day will include sitting on a private balcony, hypnotized by the lapping waves and blue water.
