Nice vacation

This was our third visit to the Tamarijn. We had a good time, the resort and it's location is very nice. Our only complaint was that in the past, the resort offered Miller lt. beer on tap and this year they no longer did. Instead of Miller lt. they offered Chill, a light version of their own beer Balashi , which they make on the island. We weren't too happy about that at first, but got use to it and decided that it wasn't that bad. Then they kept running out of it and left us with the choice of Balashi or Heiniken. Something for those who like beer and are not liquor drinkers to consider when thinking about coming to this resort

Relaxation abounds

The hotel was clean, and pretty comfortable. I like a bit of a softer bed, but everyone has a preference. Getting chairs on he beach was easy, getting a spot that gave some shade meant waking up early. The buffet had a decent variety, though they repeated things often. Getting a reservation at the other restaurants wasn't too hard if you booked in the morning two days before the day you wanted to eat there. My room was close to the main pool, so the music was loud at night. Took advantage of the spa at Divi, which was a short walk away and absolutely worth the cost. I will definitely go back to do more things around the island, and will probably stay at the Tamarijn again.

A GREAT GEM

This was our 4th year at the Tamarijn and it has just gotten better. The staff are lovely- changes to the front lobby have made arrivals much more pleasant. Bars and restaurants are so good and being able to share the facilities of the Divi Divi are such a plus. Ginger restaurant at the Tamarijin not so great- but the Paparazzi is . The Red Parrot and the new PureLime Mexican restaurant at the Divi Divi are very good. Never had a bad breakfast or lunch at the Cunucu Restaurant which has such an incredible choice of items. We all found the food this year improved greatly over the past years- and it was never bad. The only issue we had was the considerable beach erosion in the 2000 block of rooms- and that can be blamed on mother nature only. For us the Tamarijn is a place we love to go back to. It is a simple hotel with out the noise and glitz of many others on the island - but still provides top food, comfort and service- and you cannot beat the value of their all inclusive packages. Highly recommend it.

Disappointed

The staff at the hotel was not very friendly and seemed to act like we were bothering them when making simple requests. Poor service at the brick bar when ordering food. The bar was always dirty, to the point that we would take our water bottle and napkins to wipe it off as the bartender watched. When we thought we ordered something incorrectly and politely questioned it, we were snapped at by two bartenders and then they walked away laughing. When requesting beverages at the buffet one evening, the staff was rude and stated that he had already been by once for our order. That was when we first walked in and we were not ready to order yet as we told him. There would be staff standing around and talking on the walkways and they would not move out of the way as we tried to go past so we had to walk around them. we have been to all inclusives before and this was the worst service that we have ever received. There was no wait staff at the pools and nobody cleaned up around the pools. For the amount of money that we paid to go on a family trip we are very disappointed.
