Pleasantly perched right on a beachfront, the Sanctuary at Punta Cana is just a three-minute walk to popular Juanillo Beach, where guests enjoy palm-tree lined sands with an assortment of sun loungers and the resort's water sports center. With five swimming pools, including one saltwater pool, and the Freshco swim-up bar, guests can also find plenty of water-laden luxury without setting foot on the sand. Enjoy plush towels and complimentary loungers poolside with plenty of shady umbrellas to indulge in as little or as much Caribbean sunshine as you desire.

The Blue Marlin, a seafood restaurant resting on stilts over the sea, offers fresh seafood indoors or al fresco, with one-in-a-million views. If you're interested in pushing your taste buds east, try Pan-Asian fare courtesy of Wok, or indulge in Italian classics at Capriccio. Sigh your contented sighs, but don't turn in just yet! The Sanctuary Cap Cana offers live nightly entertainment, theme and cocktail parties and consistent programming for children and families. The night is as young as you make it with five bars, including a live piano bar.

Guests at the resort can hoof about the countryside on horseback, paint the resort red with paintball, charge the cliff-tops on complimentary mountain bikes or shake their money-makers at a dance lesson or two. And if the day goes long, or the night stretches into the day, it would be a shame not to capitalize on 24-hr room service. Have a delicious snack delivered right to your Monarch Ocean Front Villa, and set up a late night feeding frenzy on your terrace. While Sanctuary Cap Cana at Salamander is situated on a beach, the resort recommends taking a three-minute walk to Juanillo Beach, a white-sand, palm-tree-lined stretch of beach with turquoise waters.
