Home away from home

The grounds of Royal West Indies Resort is lovely. The pool area is very pretty and tropical looking. The beauty of the resort is also the oceanside location and I went jogging on the beach each morning before my husband and son got up. The resort is not too big, which can be overwhelmingly busy with people traffic and not too small where you feel confined to one place, a perfect size for those who seek rest and relaxation. The suites are nice sizes, equipped with utensils and pots for a good size kitchen. It was nice having the option of preparing breakfast and eating in. We shopped at the local supermarket and also bought some food for lunch for the few times we stayed within the resort chilling by the pool and beach. The bedroom was very comfortable and homey. The decor of the suite was not gaudy and over-the-top. It has the home away from home feeling plus the added beauty of the property in a beautiful island.

Royal West Indies Resort

This resort is located on a gorgeous stretch of Grace Bay. The area is peaceful and quiet but still within distance to shops, restaurants and water activities. The rooms were very clean and spacious. GREAT resort! And the beaches were never over-crowded.

Very nice economy option in Turks & Caicos

W've stayed at Royal West Indies Resort for 8 days and loved the experience. This is a small resort that is clean and safe. The rooms are big and have small kitchenettes in eachunit The grounds are well kept, 2 pools are clean, the restaurant serves good food. Plenty of chairs, towels, etc. UnIlike many other resorts in the Caribeans this one does not serve free breakfast in the price of the room. This is a diapointment because the eateries are few in this area. You will be stuck with the restaurant on the grounds, because the nearest bar/resturant is good 15 min walk from the resort. There is a new shopping center 20 min away that just opened. Near by there is a small eatery that we discovered, where the locals eat. Highly recomended and cheap! The beach and the water is wonderfull. There are no palm trees on the beach so there is very little shade. You can get burned under the umbrella or even in the water. Be carefulll and use a lot of sun screen. The resort has bicycles and small sailboats (learn to sail for free). All in all, great experience if you look for a peacefull week on the beach.

Great Value in Turks & Caicos

We stayed at this hotel while in town for a wedding at the Grace Bay Resort next door. It was a great option as it was nearby and much less expensive. The hotel is nice and the staff is very friendly. The pools at the resort are gorgeous, especially the "quiet zone" pool. We assumed because it was the off season we could always find a chair at the pool or at the beach, but also heard that the resort was at full occupancy. The restaurant and bar at the hotel were fine. Nothing fancy, but the food was decent. We had an ocean view room which was not right on the beach. You could see the ocean, but you couldn't hear it. The accomodations were clean and the room was bright and airy.

Lovely resort and a great value directly on beautiful Grace Bay. Hotel grounds are beautiful and well-maintained and the resort offers complimentary bicycles and wireless interent in the lobby.

Make sure you stock up on groceries at the local IGA market as dining out for all meals can be expensive.

Beautiful beach, great sunsets, wonderful restaurants adds up to a great relaxing vacation.
