BEST vacation ever

I had heard many things about this hotel & carefully read all the reviews, had some concerns going in but after 7 absolutely glorious days I can honestly say it was one of the best vacations ever...accommodations were spacious & comfortable, fridge fully stocked as well as liquor dispenser, (no toiletries so bring your own) Wide variety of foods daily and one of the best policies ever, "first come first served at specialty restaurants" The "Jerk Hut" on the beach for lunch daily was the highlight of the afternoon, starting w the smells coming from it by mid morning The pool/recreation staff made it their point to individually come around daily to greet you, ask if all ok, sit & chat w you The entertainment/daily shows were superb We took the Dunn's River/Bamboo beach/rafting excursion & it was so much fun & definitely worth the money You can do as little as you want or as much as you want Will DEFINITELY return

Not the greatest but not terrible

Overall the resort was average. There was one club that was open until 2:00 AM which was fun. The entertainment on the resort was good. They had a funny crew with a lot of different shows and activities. The pool was big and there was a swim up bar. The biggest downfall to this resort was the food. The food was terrible to be honest . There was maybe 2 or 3 things from the entire buffet that I would actually consider eating. It doesn't seem like that would be a big deal but it did make a difference in our experience. Also the restaurants closed at 9/10:00 which wasn't really convienet when we were coming back from late excursions or for coming out of the club when you want a snack. We did enjoy Jamaica however. Must see Dunn's River Falls! I would go back to Jamaica just not this resort. I heard other Riu resorts were nicer

Good for Price

I read all the bad reviews and the weather reports, and still decided to book this resort. I'm glad I did. The hotel does need updating, but it was fine. My room was great, got plenty of clean towels and daily cleanings by maids. I really enjoyed the staff specifically Jason my breakfast server. They all were helpful and always asked if you were having a great time. Made suggestions regarding where to go in the city, if you wanted to get away from the resort. The food was just okay. Some things were a lot better than others, but over all very edible. My best friend and I had a blast and will be returning to this hotel a little earlier in the year in 2018. Thanks Cheap Caribbean and Riu Montego Bay

What's to Love

No reservations needed at any of the restaurants.

The epic-sized pool goes on for days and has room for everyone. No trouble finding a lounger here.

Delicious Jerk Chicken at the shack on the beach. It'll be your daily pit stop.

You'll love the "drink of the day" - fun, sometimes fruity, and definitely worth a cheers.

Every room has a balcony and nothing beats sitting outside your room with warm ocean breezes.

The luscious Renova Spa does wonders for your body and soul. You'll thank us later.

Carve out time to snorkel off the gentle shores of Jamaica. The plankton shine brightly and can't wait to see you.

Put on your dancing shoes because the band at the Coconut Bar has got some serious steely tunes.

What We'd Change

Reserving dinner seating at the a la carte restaurants is a must. Book early - even before you arrive, if you can.

Why You Should Go

Just a hop, skip and a jig away from Sanger International Airport in Montego Bay. Beachy drinks await.

Dunns Falls is a great day trip - hiking, zip lining, snorkeling, picnicking - it's a blast for everyone.

The staff is amazing. Seriously, they take care of it all. You just sit back and let the pampering begin.

Bring your own colorful beach towel if you want to easily see your lounger by the pool.

Start off your day at the sweat-busting gym. Always good to get those toxins out of your bod.

If you're there in July, check out the Reggae Sumfest. Jammin', mon.
