Not So Good Experience!

The only acceptable part was the room and house keeping people. Food was horrible and extremely salty. Fruit was not enough for people to consume. We had to go there at the beginning of lunches and dinners to get fruits. There was mold on cheese. There was not enough plates. So we had to wait in lines for plates. Don't know where to get snack until later and it took forever. There was only one restaurant we could get food since we could not book any of the other two restaurants. There was no thatched umbrella at the beach and not much shady side. Don't go there unless you are a VIP, who can use more restaurant. This was the third time to Punta Cana and seventh time to Dominican and the worst trip ever.

Worst Trip Ever!!!!!

This was my second time booking the Presidential Suites in Punta Cana, last year the resort was overbooked so they upgraded us to Breathless, a wonderful resort. So wonderful I decided to book again, this time hoping to stay at the Presidential Suites because I thought it would be just as awesome. Wrong. The resort is small, with very very few food options. The buffet is a joke, more like a high school cafeteria. Kept running out of food and the food was always luke warm. Service was the worst I've ever experienced while traveling. They have levels of members and if your not a VIP member with lifestyle vacation club your treated like dirt. Can't even get a glass of water without running down a waitress. We booked two one-bedroom suites, one of which did not have A/C for 3 days, the doors to the bedroom and second bathroom didn't close and the mirror on the wall in the second bathroom was hanging off the wall and eventually fell off the wall. We paid the daily rate for wifi and couldn't access it all week and when we asked for a refund, after complaining daily without them resolving the issue, they gave us a hard time for a refund. There was very little activities on the beach at night, boring!!! The drinks weren't even worth drinking so several of my friends didn't even drink all week. The staff was rude and indifferent to you if you weren't a VIP member and finally they try and pressure you to buy into their Lifestyle V action club. This was the worst trip I've ever taken.

A Great Resort with Room for Improvement!

We just returned from our 7 day honeymoon at Presedential Suites in Punta Cana. While we had a great week, there were definitely things that needed improvement that unfortunately resulted in the fact that we likely will not return to this resort specifically. Our trip stay started with a golf cart "tour" and delivery to our room with a quick tour of the suite. (Thank you Speedy Gonzalez for being so helpful!) Unfortunately, the resort allows vendors to set up in the middle of the resort on the road and the golf cart stopped at each one before continuing to your room. You obviously don't HAVE to purchase anything, but they will go on and on about you buying something and give the girls a free bracelet and the men a necklace. Just kind of annoying to deal with as soon as you arrive on vacation! The vendors weren't set up every day we noticed but even after you arrived if you had to walk by they would ask you to come look. We just said no thank you and kept walking. We went straight to the beach bar (the only one available to non-VIP) and ordered drinks, the first 3 rounds were nasty and tasted like sugar water. We had to switch to beer because the taste was awful. We also got to the resort when there was no buffet open and I was starving after a day of travel. The lady at check in told me I could order food at the bar. I asked a bar tender and he said "you have to find a server". I see a server come up and I ask her, she says "I'm working the pool you have to ask him". I finally get to ask the guy she pointed to and he rudely rolled his eyes, stuck up one finger and said "you need wait a minute" and then goes off to the bar tenders in spanish, clearly annoyed that I asked for food. Eventually the girl working the pool came up and took my order and about an hour and fifteen minutes later I got a cheeseburger. Again, this first impression of the service wasn't great not to mention the drinks we had in the mean time were terrible. The second morning we kept talking about how concerned we were about the drink situation. We didn't understand how people were drinking them one after another and we figured they must've just gotten used to the taste. We decided to give it another shot and we ordered the same exact drinks as we had day 1. We tipped the bar tender and the drinks were great!! Throughout the week and from talking to others we determined that until the bar tenders got to know you, or until you tipped them enough, the drinks were cheaply made and not consistent. They will however make your drink as strong as you want and I suggest asking for the top shelf alcohols when you order a drink, and tipping them. Their beer is actually very good, so that's always a good option too! I stuck with mimosas pretty much all week and if you want a good tasting bloody mary, ask for tomato juice and vodka, not a bloody mary. Decadance, the buffet available to everyone was pretty good. Breakfast from 7:30-10:30 had a build your own omelet station every morning, lunch from 12:30-3 always had something good whether it was a burger station or chicken. Always a salad bar and also a pasta salad bar. Dinner each night had a theme. Our favorites were oriental, italian (the pizza was delicious!), gala night, and especially american BBQ! Mexican night wasn't great, but the guacamole was AMAZING. I wish they had just the guac every meal! Again, always a salad bar and pasta salads at dinner. The dessert selection wasn't huge but everything I had was very good. Service at dinner was always excellent. Drinks were full before we asked for another round. Espresso as an after dinner treat was fantastic too. The second day we were there we went to breakfast and I had already read reviews about the men in brown shirts and safari hats trying to get you to go to a timeshare meeting. While we ate breakfast they stood outside the buffet with clipboards and stalked us. Talking to each other and pointing to us. I thought for sure we would get stopped on our way out. We went to lunch and the same thing happened only this time they did stop us. "You got here yesterday right? This is you?" And they show you your name on their clipboard. They'll tell you they have two tshirts and a bottle of Mama Juana for you if you come with them for 20 minutes. They also told us that it was a requirement for us to do because we booked through Cheap Caribbean. We said no thank you and we were all set about five times when he tried to block the step to prevent me from leaving, which made my husband rather annoyed so he said "She said no thank you, we are here to enjoy our honeymoon" and we left. We weren't bothered again until about our 5th day there when another guy asked "You got here yesterday right?" and we just corrected him and he left us alone (he obviously had the wrong people) If you do choose to go with these people, you become "VIP" after a 3 hour time share talk. From what I can tell, VIP is nothing special. They say you get more bar access but I'm pretty sure it's only one more bar in the VIP "lounge" (A room with AC and some tables and TVs) and there is a VIP restaurant in the lobby. Anyone can make reservations at Tomato & Basils or Kimonos (we chose not to but know others who did and sometimes had difficulty reserving, so I would say try to do so the morning after you arrive). We spent the first half of the week on the king sized cabanas on the beach (we had no problem getting one) and the drink service was decent. However the "reserved" beds (VIP) seemed to eat up much of the servers time and we would go long periods of time without drinks. We spent the second half of the week in the pool as it was close to our room and service seemed better there. We would get out to the pool around 9:30 and all the servers were great for the first hour or two until the pools got busy. Pretty sure they had one server running BOTH pools every day which is ridiculous. Service slowed as the day went on almost every day, but again an increase in number of staff serving the pools would solve this problem. If you want to order "snack" food (burger, hot dog, fried grouper, tuna wrap) you can between 11 am and 5 pm from a pool server. Expect at least an hour wait. We ordered every day at 11 and would be lucky to get it before the buffet opened at 12:30. Sorry for the long winded review, however I like to touch all the aspects of the trip that affected my rating. The rooms were great (except the cockroach on the last night and the water going out of 3 buildings for an hour one day), the food and drinks were decent, entertainment was fun, the pool and beach was fantastic and the service was fair. Overall, this resort (or Lifestyles in general) need to improve on a lot at this location rather than spend all their efforts on trying to sell timeshares. Had our service been rapid, the drinks been delicious from day one, and the heckling been less, I would have considered listening to a presentation or even returning to this resort. Unfortunately by day 7 we were more than thankful to return home. It was a great trip and we had a relaxing week but we will not be returning to this resort in the future.
