NO OLEO!!!!

First, I have to say that the staff upon arrival seemed confused and was not welcoming. My 73 year-old mother stood while they checked-us in (20 minutes) with no fan fair or even a welcome. This behavior was pretty much echoed and amplified by the entire staff the entire time. It was hard to figure out who worked there or not, the T-shirt uniform was very unprofessional. In the t-shirts, they all looked like they were going to the beach. Again, there was absolutely no customer service or a hint of a warm welcome indicative of a resort. The staff was very dismissive. The gentlemen that checked us in didn’t even smile. Even the gift shop was disappointing… Both times that I visited I had to ask the attendants that were just standing there for assistance. Again- NO CUSTOMER SERVICE. I thought the neglectful nature of the WHOLE staff was disgusting. The lobby bar area was infested with Drain Flies – that was very troublesome. The poolside service was the worst – servers would ask some patrons if they needed anything, they NEVER asked me or my family, we had to wave them down or get our own. On several occasions they conveniently forgot our order, we basically had to get our own drinks and food for the entire stay. The fact that they were so comfortable to tell me and my family to wait while we observed them taking care of others was hurtful and disturbing. The menu was always the same and not good; there was nothing special about any of the food/meals on this all-inclusive property. The alcoholic beverages were watered down and basically sugary punch. I witnessed a bartender drop a mixing spoon and not even rinse it off before stirring a drink for another patron; from that moment I only ordered cans of beer. The power went out on the property repeatedly, and the elevator (they only have one) was broken half of the time – my 73 year-old mother had to walk up and down five (5) flights of stairs a few times. The phone to the front desk always rang with no answer, I would have to physically go to the front desk on several occasions just to ask for the basics. For instance, the in the room refrigerator was supposed to be stocked every day when the room was serviced. They NEVER replenished the refrigerator. Again, I had to physically go the front desk, the man at front desk actually pointed at and told me to go to the bar and get my own water…get my own water. This was the first time my mother and younger sister (with special needs) have been to Mexico; this was supposed to be a fabulous extended weekend. Instead the only thing we got was no courtesy, neglected, and treated with complete disregard. I would NEVER, not even if it was free recommend this place to ANYONE. Cheap Caribbean should be ashamed of themselves for having a place like this on your selection list.
