I didn't want to go back home :(
My boyfriend and I had such an awesome time in Cancun especially at the Oasis. This was my second time there. We ended up getting an oceanfront which I didn't reserve but we were so greatful and in love from the minute we saw the beautiful view we had each and every morning. It turned out that it was the Canadian spring break for college students. If your looking for fun, music, entertainment and unlimited pina coladas this is the place to stay at. Now if you wanted peace and relaxation away from the music all you had to do was walk on the other side of the hotel or stay at the Grand Oasis. Either way, I definitely would come back and were allready planning our next getaway. Thank you Oasis Cancun!!!
I arrived at the hotel, to be checked into a room that was adjacent the Coyote Loco bar in the "spring break" section of the hotel. Oasis Cancun has 4 sections to it, plus Grand Oasis. You don't know where you are going unless you have done this before. I checked in and the noise level was unbelievable. My room was no better since it was next to the spring break bar on the first floor. There was no sleeping that night, and finally there was a bit of silence around 7am the next morning. Luckily, the CheapCaribbean.com rep was there to help us secure a different room, that included having to upgrade to another building entirely, which we gladly did. The other hotel (to the right of the Grand Oasis if you are facing it from the street), was much quieter and is considered the 'family' hotel.
Unless you are 18 - 24, I absolutely do not recommend using the two buildings to the left of the Grand Oasis (if you are facing it from the street). These are monopolized by the spring break crowd which is great if that's what you are there for. I went in January so I had no idea it would be that wild (this group were on a break from Canada).
The hotel is fairly well divided once you know your way around, and kids and families generally steer clear of the drunk college crowd, and vice versa. The hotel itself runs extremely well given all the restaurant options. I'm not critical of the drunk crowd, but I am disappointed that the hotel staff did not seem to distinguish the difference between the guests. The website should be more specific about what you are booking and what you should book, depending on what you are looking for.
It took 3 hours to check in. The room was dirty. I rented 2 rooms and the tubs didn't work in either room. The entire hotel seems to have major plumbing problems. There were leaks everywhere with big puddles in the floor and broken sheet rock from water runoff. The food was more like a Denny's or Ryan’s restaurant.
There was no mini-bar in the room and no easy access to drinks of any kind. All the restaurants and bars always had long lines. There were no self-serve drinks for soda or even water. We actually had to go off property and buy beverages.
This is a wrist band hotel which was not listed in the description. Much of the hotel is off-limits to Oasis only visitors. I would have NEVER chosen a wrist band resort and feel cheated that it wasn't in the description.
They were extremely understaffed and although the staff tried to be helpful, there just were not enough of them. It was almost impossible to find out the hotels activity or show schedule and everyone seemed unaware of any features or amenities.

Hmm, I have never done this, but in speaking to colleagues who have organized reunions it is definitely possible. I suggest speaking to a representative if you do not have much time for planning. Otherwise, to get a great price you will have to plan several months in advance and be patient in selecting your flights. Its easy if you choose not to fly together. Good Luck!!

My friends are I are traveling to Cancun and are interested in staying at one of the Oasis hotels. There are three of us and we'll each be 24 years old when we travel. I noticed there is a youth resort fee for anyone under the age of 25 and was wondering how much that fee would be? We are not traveling with a student group, in fact we no longer attend school at all, but graduated 2 years ago. How much would we have to pay?

Unfortunately, the resort does not advise the fee they charge for guests under the age of 25 as it is always subject to change depending on their occupancy level.

What We'd Change
The resort does not offer room service, and the rooms have no refrigerators. On the other hand, who needs a refrigerator when you have eight restaurants and nine bars on site?

Situated on a barrier island embraced by the Caribbean Sea, to the east, and Nichupte Lagoon, to the west, the 490-yard, free-form resort pool, one of the largest in Latin America, features three swim-up bars and waterfalls connecting its sections. Just navigating this pool is an adventure. From the resort marina on the lagoon side, you can take a leisurely paddleboat tour of the lagoon; or, if you feel more energetic, kayak across. Non-motorized water sports are part of the all inclusive package.
The complimentary nine-hole, par-3 golf course, is also on the lagoon side of the resort. If you're willing to travel a little, think about an excursion to the splendid Mayan pyramids at Chichen Itza, just two hours by car. If you're a thrill-seeker, nearby zip lines, reputed to be among the longest in Latin America, are a must. And the concierge knows all about the nightclubs on the famed Cancun hotel strip!
When you enter your room at the end of the day, you step into a different world. Dark woods and wrought-iron furnishings perfectly accent the terracotta walls and marble floors. Throw in a bedspread with a traditional Mexican pattern, and you've got an inviting spot to end the day.

Student/Youth Policy
Student/Youth Travelers are defined by the resort as any guest younger than 25 traveling without their legal parent/guardian and are subject to the following terms and conditions, year round:
Travelers younger than 25 without a legal parent/guardian will be required to purchase a Student/Youth resort fee upon check-in at the resort. The cost is per person, per stay, and is not refundable.
Credit cards issued to anyone other than the guest are not accepted.
Minimum age requirement for check-in is 18 years. All rooms require at least one person 18 or older when occupied by a 17-year-old.
All students younger than the legal age of 17 require written consent from parent/legal guardian providing authorization and taking responsibility for the guest.
Any student group traveling with guests younger than 18 will require chaperones. One chaperone is required per one-19 students/youths younger than 18. The minimum age requirement for a chaperone is 25.
All students will be assigned a special bracelet for ID purposes; this policy is in force year round.
Please note the legal drinking age in Mexico is 18.
If you do not adhere to the Student/Youth Policy, your reservation will be canceled and you will be notified accordingly.
Oasis Runaway Program
Guests staying at Oasis Cancun on an all inclusive basis will be able to visit and enjoy the other Oasis resorts for the day, having access to all food and beverage outlets and resort facilities. The ID system will be based on their wrist bracelet. Guests are required to visit the Oasis Plus concierge desk to make arrangements one day prior to visiting any other Oasis participating resort. Transportation cost is not included. Please note that this program will not be available at the Oasis Cancun Resort from Feb 18-Apr 3, 2012.

Up and Down Disco
Put on your dancing shoes and get your heart racing to the rhythm of the music in this exciting night club. The disco is open nightly from 10pm-1am, and stays open until 2am on Thursdays for the Foam Party (fee for foam party not included in all-inclusive plan); the disco is closed on Saturday.
The resort also offers nightly shows and entertainment, included in your stay. The party never stops at the Oasis Cancun!
Exercise Facilities
