Only one star because ZERO isn't an option
Way too noisy, nowhere you can escape. Even if you don't want to participate in their games you still have to hear them. Booking restaurants is a farce, for example we could only get either 6.15 or 9pm for dinner even though the restaurants were pretty empty. We never arrived and were seated immediately, always a wait (we were told one time it was because we were 6 minutes early)! The restaurant was empty all evening. Poor motivation and organisation of staff and managers hiding from contact with guests. Entertainment, excluding the children's shows, was taken to a new low level. No quiet or tranquil ambience bar. Full on Karaoke or other loud entertainment. Worst of all a manager (Oiole) agreed to contact us by our 3rd day to sort some problems and didn't contact us until after a further complaint a week later. Room shower drain was blocked but not fixed, we reported it but still blocked 5 days later.

My 5 out of 5 is because of facilities atmosphere the food and the staff is very professional friendly especially the chef Amina who went out of her way to make my wife’s birthday a special occasion with cake and tequila a warm smile with a infectious laugh. Amina took time to great the family and alway asked if everything was ok and it was the Family had an amazing time round the pool enjoying the facilities . There’s lots to do with wave pool children splash area the beaches is not very far You also have a daily shuttle that takes you into town 5th Avenue to shop and returns later that day or you can get your own taxi back depending on how much time you’ll wanna spend it’s our 10th time to this hotel and Riviera Maya

We love this hotel!
My family and I have been going to the Iberostar Paraiso Lindo and/or Paraiso Maya for about 20 years. Our children have enjoyed this resort since they were around 5 years old, and now as adults. This place has something for everyone. This last time we stayed at Lindo, but since they share many common areas, I will include Maya in my review. The hotels have many amenities and entertainment. Their pool is fabulous, and big enough that you can choose a quiet spot or a spot right in the middle of the entertainment. There is food at all times, either at the beach, the What we like most about the hotel is the people; they are super friendly, efficient, and very attentive. The food at the restaurants is very good, they have some buffets, and they also have some a la carte restaurants. Whatever you choose, you won't be disappointed with the quality of the food and the service. Every night they had a different show; we particularly loved the "Fuego" at the beach, and the "Circo" at their theater. If you are a Member of the Iberostar, you can enjoy the prestige lounge. Kudos to everyone who works there. Beach: Delfina, Nerma, Edgar, Carlos, Ventura, and Angel Lobby: Darlene, Monserrat, Cinthya, Naidely, Emma, Sharon, Rodrigo, Alan, and Axel. And in the bar, Emmanuel, who makes the best margaritas and his new cocktail, the "Perla Special". Restaurants: A big shout to Chef Viviana at El Rancho, but to be fair, I could name one, and each of the waiters and hostesses, and other chefs, they are truly a gem. Members' pool: Stop by and enjoy a relaxing place, and Santiago will make you something yummy Both hotels have a bar. The Stake Bar is at the Maya, a great experience there with Rodolfo and Carlos. At the Lindo, they have the Aquarium Bar, and Cristobal is a top-notch mixologist. Each hotel also has a cafeteria, where you can get any fancy coffee or tea that you wish, along with sweet or savory snacks. They have a shopping center where you will find stores that sell clothes and souvenirs. They have a pharmacy, a SPA, various places to grab a bite, and even a chapel for some time to pray. The shopping center reminds me of a "Plaza". I don't think you can go wrong choosing this hotel; you will have an amazing time. People, as I said, are nice and friendly, and they will always try to accommodate your needs.

Highly Disappointed Family Vacation
My family and I stayed there recently and our experience was not positive. It was two adults and one 2.5 year old and we were there for a total of 5 nights. After we checked in, we were greeted by a "Concierge". She immediately started pushing us to attend a sales meeting about buying a timeshare there. I said no as we have a toddler and he's not going to sit through a meeting. She said they will offer 2 free massages, we still declined. The next day, we were walking through the lobby on our way to the restaurant and she sees us and runs to us. She keeps pressuring us about the meeting and I tell her the toddler will not sit through 90 minutes. She says all we have to do is sign up, wait for the meeting to start and after a few minutes, say the toddler has a stomach ache and leave. We get our massages and she gets her commission. She literally told us this. So we were like ok we'll sign up. Then next day, they (not the same concierge) come to pick us up in a golf cart. On the way there, they tell us hey just to make sure, its a 90 minute meeting. I tell this person that we have a toddler and he's not going to sit through it. Then this person tells us "just go with the flow and wait for the meeting to start". We finally get to the meeting and check in. The meeting coordinator then tells us its 90 minutes and we have to attend the whole thing to get the massages. This is not what the concierge told us. I point to my toddler and say look, he's not going to sit through 90 minutes. Then this person gets the manager and the manager comes and tells us we have to sit through 90 minutes and I repeat and say toddler will not do that. Then the manager says ok then you guys can't attend this presentation and motions for the person who picked us up to take us back. By this point, we are annoyed and I can tell the person who picked us up is upset as the friendliness went away. Basically these people just lied to get us to attend the presentation even though I informed them at every turn that we may not be able to attend the full presentation because of toddler. What a colossal waste of time. This experience at the very start of our vacation left us with a bitter taste. The resort itself is nice and has many amenities. This is a great place for kids 6 or older it seemed like. My toddler did not have a good time which means we didn't either. The food was mostly just ok. As soon as we checked in, we asked to reserve spots at the reservation only restaurants and some of them didn't have any reservations available during our stay, which is not acceptable. We did get a reservation at Trattoria Olivetti for our anniversary dinner. We ordered two appetizers and they were both served barely warm. The entire restaurant seemed to have only two waitstaff attending to diners. Then the main course we picked was very bland. Definitely not worth having to reserve and wait days to try it out. In general, it seems this resort is trying to make very normal restaurants seem upscale by require reservations. Or they are making sure not everyone has a chance to eat there to save on cost. Either way, not a good look. Every time we went either to the pool or to the buffet, it seems they always want to sell you something, like photo sessions. They also ran out of drinking water during part of our stay.

First Iberostar Experience. Definitely not the last.
We had an excellent 2 week experience here. All the staff were amazing. Special thank you’s go to Alejandro and Pablo at the pool side bar. They were both fantastic. They were happy and outgoing and made my family feel welcome and appreciated. Also to Nancy, she was the hostess at two of the buffets as well as at the Italian. She was attentive, pleasant and went out of her way to accommodate us. At the Italian restaurant we had Humberto as our server 3 of the 4 times we visited. He knew what drinks we wanted before we did and made our dinner experiences that much better. Just an exceptional guy. Cristobal at the Aquarium Lou he and Corner Sports Bar was another absolute beauty. Always ready with a smile and the beverages of choice before we could ask for them. Our on site concierge at building 51, Paola was another amazing staff member. When our daughter wasn’t feeling well from drinking too much ocean water, she made sure we were looked after. As well as booking our catamaran snorkel trip. I’m sure I’m missing some others here, which is too bad, because there are many wonderful staff that go out of their way to make your holiday that much better. We will be back.
