Jamaica

The resort was really nice, well kept and very accommodating. Suggestions would be to upgrade to Lady Hamilton and stay away from some of the typical touristy things. Food was excellent at all of the restaurant and even the buffets had nice selection. The only issue we saw was that the swim up bar needed to control some of the over indulging that went on so the pool didn't need to be closed due to loss of control. Happened 2 to for a couple hours each.

Our Grand Palladium Experience

The trip was not bad, but definitely below our modest expectations. The room we had was clean, but clearly old and worn. Much of the property was in need of repair or improvement. The one complaint I have is the Travel Club's persistent sales reps. If we say no thanks, then leave it alone. The food was so-so, except Xaymaica, which we thought was great. Also, the jerk chicken at the buffet or anywhere was really good. Breakfast anyone can do. We did love the Sports Bar! All the folks at the Spa, most of the bar tenders, and most of the wait staff (Thank you Nardee) were really very nice. The time we spent at the Zentropia Spa was our favorite, and in fact that day was just perfect. The Spa is well worth the extra money (big thanks to Anicea, Cleopatra, Jeremy and the whole crew). The beaches are cute, and the pool areas are nice. This is a good place to go with kids, and the staff for the most part were some really sweet people. If the rooms were in better shape, and the food of better quality the rating would be an overall 4 star. As is I'd offer a 3.5 star for the GP.

Great Vacation Resort!!!

This was the first time I vacationed in Jamacia and I'm so happy I choose The Grand Palladium as my resort. My entire stay was wonderful!!! The room was spacious, nice, and clean. The food choices were good, and by the resort being all-inclusive we were able to order food to our room with no extra charge. The Infinity pool was awesome, and we loved the beach chairs that were built into the pool. The free non-motorized water sports were great, and the beach was beautiful!!! Also, the nightly shows were very entertaining. The only thing we didn't like is how slow the food service was when ordering room service and at the restaurants (excluding the self serve buffets). When ordering room service the food took almost 2 hours, and at the restaurants it took an average of 30 minutes to get an appetizer, and 45 minutes for our entree. However, it is Jamaica and we learned "fast" service isn't their priority as it is in the U.S. so we just used the extra waiting time to converse and laugh a little bit more with one another. Other than the slow food service the resort is excellent!!! We are definitely going again next year!

Torn

We had a blast. The all-inclusive part of the trip was great, the employees were second to none. The pools and beaches were great. I even got used to the walking to the villas, however there always seemed to be a shuttle cart within a few minutes. The only drawback from our entire experience ( 9 travelers, 4 rooms ) was the bathroom. There was either no water pressure in the showers or no hot water, take your pick. Either a cold shower, or a trickle with warm water. I'm not sure if I would return because of this but I am torn as we had such a fun time and the staff was so wonderful. Nobody wanted to leave.

What's to Love

It's all-inclusive, all-incredible and all-irie - you're in the earth-heaven known as Jamaica.

The dreamy 86,000 sq. ft. infinity pool with in-water loungers & Jacuzzis - the largest in Jamaica.

Vegging at the Zentropia spa - Turkish baths, Finnish sauna, the refreshing footbath & oceans more.

If you're vegetarian, they've got taste bud-slaying food choices, and no reservations required at any of the restaurants.

The ever-helpful & friendly staff - they're the crowning jewel of this awesome place.

The delish Jamaican coffee in the cafe. Perfect any time.

What We'd Change

The city of Lucea is pretty quiet, but you will not need outside nightlife when the bars, theater and nightclub at the resort are happening!

Why You Should Go

It's just a half hour from airport, but in Jamaica you'll feel the vacay vibe the second you arrive.

There are sister privileges next door at the Lady Hamilton.

The Kids Club for ages 4-12 is where kiddos can meet "Raggs," one of 5 musical friendly dogs.

There's no smoking in all public covered areas on the island as per the Jamaican Health Minister.

The catamarans, kayaks, pedal boats and snorkeling are complimentary aka FREE.

For a fee, you can enjoy sailing, scuba diving, the fitness center and more.

On land, there's tennis, archery, mini-golf & for bigger greens, tee off at the Tryall Golf Course.
