Amazing stay for 4 days
We had a wonderful stay at fiesta Americana during thanksgiving break. Excellent oceanfront view rooms , comfortable beds, unforgettable ocean views and calm beach. I loved spending time at the beach, tides were perfect no seaweeds , pools and jacuzzis were perfect and relaxing. The food was great but not as great as you would experience when you explore on your own. As a vegetarian, I didn’t get the best bang for my buck, but I was more than satisfied with many choices. Due to limited English speaking by employees , I was always nervous that meat would get mixed up in my food. The Italian and Mexican restaurants had few choices but nothing out of the ordinary. I would definitely pick this resort if I have to pick an AI resort. This was our first time at AI , we were pampered like in cruise ship, but this will not be a thing we would repeat. Overall totally recommend this for families with small kids, teenagers, older couples all ages. It was a great vacation.

Eladio, Heraclio, Oswaldo, Antonio, EdwinTiktik, Magi, Nayeli, Migdiel at the Market restaurant and Cesar in Rosato who gave us the best service when we had the dinner by the beach! Beautiful hotel, good food, pretty beach, great ambience with fun vibes and lovely staff!
Hotel: This is a really beautiful and contemporary hotel with a boutique spa-like ambience. The lush gardens and ponds in the courtyard of each tower are so stunning and a highlight within the space. I went during low season (early Nov) so it wasn't crowded or chaotic at all. I actually prefer it now that I know what it's like. There were lots of front lobby staff available to help, thank you to Andre and Oscar who helped us out so kindly and patiently. There was ample pool chairs and ample space in the pool. The upper pool was so lovely and peaceful to people watch from, and the lower pool was a fun vibe. I feel like it was a good balance between peace and fun. There was a lot of locals so it was nice it not being super touristy. Rooms: The rooms were modern, clean and spacious. Bed was lovely! Lighting was superb, big fan of warm lamps (not overhead harsh lighting). I liked the style of the bathroom, having it semi open concept but glass wall separating toilet, shower and sink. Housekeeping does a meticulous job every day keeping things fresh for all the guests. One thing I would've liked was maybe a dehumidifier or slippers. Beach: Water is a lovely clear teal blue, sand is bright. It was very clear even though there was a seaweed notice from our travel agency. The waves are always coming in and out so its not really for swimming, more for jumping over waves, wading and boogey-boarding. I did spot some schools of fish in the beach! One thing I like was shallowness goes for a while, so you can walk pretty far out and the water will still be hip to waist height. Entertainment: The energy and efforts of the animation staff to liven up things throughout the day was really appreciated. Special shoutout to entertainment staff... David, Nestor, Estevan, Michelle, Saulo, Wendy, Leo and Andrew. Andrew does magic! Ask him about it! I would've loved to see more if I stayed longer. David and Estevan made us some braided bracelets which was a nice gesture. During the day times we did line dancing, Bingo, a ceviche cooking class, yoga, step aerobics, trampoline fitness, water aerobics, and played a game of jenga with the staff. A favourite was the minute-to-win-it games. Since it was low season I think a lot of people like to just relax, so I could tell the staff were doing their best to charm and offer fun/games to the type of people willing to get involved, while also letting people chill if they wanted to. Another big shoutout to fitness instructor Rosy/Rosemary. My friends and I had a really touching and memorable moment during her morning yoga session. She ended the session asking everyone to pair up, sit across one each other, hold hands and to mindfully send kind intentions through our eyes. Several of us ended up getting emotional and crying because it was very tender moment. It was great to have that mindfulness during our quality time on vacation. During the evenings, the bar has ping pong, and a pool table. There was some cool events like live salsa music, karaoke, guitarists, and themed parties. My favourites were the 18th century themed masquerade soiree and guitarist Eddy Vox. One of the entertainment staff was DJing later in the night and he was sooo good but I didn't catch his name. If you like to dance or party well after midnight, do plan on going off the resort as (at least in Nov) as things quieted down and it was mostly people chatting at the bar around then. I would've loved a little dance floor area with DJ booth or corner so the vibe isn't competing with the huge bar tv playing sports. Aquaworld: It was super convenient that Aquaworld (they have a desk near the lower pool) is a quick 8min walk just across the hotel, we did parasailing, snorkelling and speedboat driving through mangroves with them. Shoutout to Vitor who helped us book our excursions and quickly met our needs to find a last minute quick adventure that we could do in a few hours. Food: The buffets were solid with ample good options for every palate, I actually preferred them to the sit-down restaurants. I was impressed at all the options at the Market buffet. Given it was low season, we never had to wait to get in. The staff in the buffet are helpful, warm and welcoming. They come around often to refill drinks or ask if everything is good. The moment you get to your table with soup they are there within the second to give you a soup spoon! One thing I should note is that if it rains, the outdoor food options close so make note of when the restaurants open and close for breakfast, lunch and dinner so you're not left in a weird gap without food (other than room service). Extra thoughts: The hotel itself isn't massive, it feels quaint but can still be a bit of a maze so I do wish there was a large sign/map in the lobby area (or maybe a paper map?), or a better designed one for mobile screens. There was a secret party one night with location marked on a tiny map and I guess it was so secret because it took us forever to find it and it was over by the time we got there! Also, the theatre is strangely located with confusing signage, the salsa band we saw there was GREAT but barely anyone showed up probably because they couldn't find the theatre! All in all, definitely would come back, I had fantastic time here! I think the staff really made our time unique and memorable here. Thank you all!
