Are you ready for a vacay? You want to feel the breeze in your hair as you lounge on a pristine beach? Well, bestie, Los Cabos is calling your name. But what to do once you get there, you ask? Trust us, there are MORE things to do in Los Cabos than just lounging on the beach (don't get us wrong, we want plenty of that). It's called Nature's Playground for a reason.
Keep reading to dive into how to get the most out of a four-day vacay, with an open-ended plan of what to do if you're with your boo, BFF, the entire fam or all by your fabulous self.
Day One: Keep It Low-key
It's all about chill vibes on the first day. Trust us; a lazy day is the best way to recharge after a flight. We recommend staying at an all-inclusive resort to enjoy a leisurely breakfast, a massage with your mate and the other amenities. Many all-inclusives offer kids' programs so parents can take a much-deserved break.
Once you're ready to head out, here are a few things to see and do.
Get Your Beach On
Visitors flock to Santa Maria Beach, one of Los Cabos' renowned sandy shores. With white sand and crystal-clear water, you can soak in the sun one-on-one with your bae or group of besties.
Snorkeling with the fam is an excellent bonding experience. Youngsters can marvel at a range of sea life, including surgeonfish and angelfish, in a kaleidoscope of vibrant colors. Playa El Chileno is also a must for snorkelers. Only a few feet down from the water's surface, you'll start to encounter a bustling underwater ecosystem.
Time to Dine
After your dose of sand and surf, it's chow time! Los Cabos is a haven for adventurous foodies and picky eaters alike. A crash course in Los Cabos' dining scene (from modest to Michelin-starred) could take all day, and you've got packing to do!
We highly recommend Ruba's Bakery for brunch-inspired fare like melt-in-your-mouth French toast, expertly crafted lattes and more. One of our fave spots for lunch or dinner is Flora Farms. It's a 25-acre, organic working farm where vegetables, fruits and herbs grow in the lush landscape. The restaurant's farm-to-table menu features seasonal delights. Resist the urge to fill up on the fresh-baked bread—you need to leave room for your entrée. Side note: The kids will love exploring the grounds, featuring a turtle pond and a playground.
At most restaurants in Los Cabos (especially during peak tourist seasons), a reservation is your best friend. Call ahead so you won't have to wait once your tummy starts rumbling!
Whales? Yes, Please!
After brunch or lunch, set your sights on a whale-watching tour. You'll be able to experience gorgeous views from on board the boat and hopefully spot nature's most majestic sea animals. If you want an up-close look at the aquatic giants in all their splendor, book a Los Cabos vacay during the winter or spring.
Back at the Resort
Decompress with a glass of bubbly after putting the kids to bed. Couples, friends and solo travelers are sure to find plenty of lively pool parties and other things to do at the resort when the sun goes down.
Day Two: Ready, Set and Go!
Now that you're well-rested, it's time to hit the ground (or the sand) running. Make this an ultra-active day!
Land & Sea Adventures
Do you prefer your thrills on land or water? Can't decide? No worries—Los Cabos has tons of both! Whether you choose to hop on board a luxury catamaran, traverse a hiking trail, or try another activity, book your excursions with Amstar DMC. Their local experts will make the experience even more enriching. You might even make new besties during these once-in-a-lifetime opportunities.
If you have young kids in tow, be mindful of any age restrictions for tours.
Going to Chow Town
An adrenaline rush sure does work up an appetite! It's time to check out more of Los Cabos' excellent eateries. Here with your bae? Try a romantic meal at Acre Restaurant & Cocktail Bar. It's the perfect spot for snapping some photos for the 'Gram and enjoying a culinary delight.
Jardin Secreto is another romantic choice for the mood lighting and Italian-inspired fare1.
Los Tres Gallos in Cabo San Lucas' lively Centro District is a no-brainer for a family dinner. There's truly something on the menu2—from fish tacos to prime ribeye and fajitas—to please even the most selective dining companions.
Let's Party
Looking for things to do in Los Cabos for couples? You have plenty of exciting nightlife options that cater to a grown-up crowd. Dive into a pool party at Nikki Beach, put on your cowboy boots for a hoe-down at Saloon Cabo San Lucas3 or sway with your bae at El Squid Roe, a nightclub and restaurant.
Day Three: Beach Day 2.0
You're surrounded by some of the most beautiful water in the world, so we suggest spending another day at the beach.
Los Cabos is for Lovebirds
Whether you're on a short vacay to celebrate your first trip as a couple, honeymoon or milestone anniversary, Playa de los Amantes is a serene setting for lovebirds tucked away in the spot where the Sea of Cortez meets the Pacific Ocean4. Need more incentive? It's affectionately called Lovers' Beach. C'mon, it's kismet. You'll access the serene setting via water taxi.
Catamaran with the Crew
Want to spend time on the water without getting too wet? A glass-bottom catamaran tour is just the thing. Lounge on the roomy deck, nosh on a few goodies and spend time reconnecting with your nearest and dearest.
Mouthwatering Goodness Awaits
Feeling hungry? Head to Harry's Cabo, the best-known steakhouse in the area. It's the perfect place for dinner for two with your boo. Mother Flower is a fun pick for families. There are plenty of options to please the kiddos. Chit-chat about the day while savoring the bold and delicate flavors in the fish tacos, meaty fare and MORE.
A Few Mementos for the Road
We haven't forgotten Los Cabos' shopping options. If you're on the hunt for locally made art, La Turquesa Jewelry and Art Store5 has plenty of hidden gems. Check out the Puerto Paraiso for well-known and lesser-known retailers.
Day Four: Chill
Parting is always bittersweet, so we suggest spending your last day luxuriating. Have a slow morning with mimosas and brunch, get a massage and then take in the beaches one last time.
