    Beautiful people!

Shout out to the amazing staff! The greatest thing about this resort is by far the service. Everyone is friendly, pleasant and professional. Happy to help. Quite responsive. It’s truly a pleasure to be around the Bahamians! Of course the location is beautiful too. I have heard that the staff doesn’t make a lot of money and there is no way to tip other than cash, any currency is fine. I found it hard to remember to bring small bills to the pool or restaurants at an all inclusive resort, but we managed to change that. 😊

    Great day trip.

Great excursion destination from cruise ship. Super location, great service, turquoise water, powder whie beach, nice big pool. Food is about as expected at all inclusive, OK not great. The beach bar's the best. Be sure to bring cash for tips. It's how these folks make their living.

    Fabulous

I read lots of reviews before I arrived and I was feeling a little anxious, however I had nothing to worry about. The room was beautiful, had gorgeous sea views and was extremely clean and well looked after. Yeah the showers weren’t always that hot or powerful but that never bothered us. The beach is beautiful, it has a coral reef just a short swim away where you can see an array of tropical fish, we even saw a turtle just beyond the reef. The lifeguards are fabulous and will tell you the best places to see different types of fish. Shout out to Frank, he absolutely made our holiday! The staff are friendly and helpful, despite the amount of rude Italians constantly giving them grief and acting like they are superior to everyone else. We hired a car from the hotel for 2 days and travelled around the whole island. I would totally recommend doing this, there are some beautiful towns and villages and every single Bahamian we met were friendly and happy to sit and chat. We will definitely be going back, we had the best time 😊

It's always better to travel than do nothing

This resort is super blessed by nature. The beach is beautiful, the water is definitely one of the most beautiful things you will see. My goal for this trip was basically to relax and do absolutely nothing. I managed to achieve my goals, so I am happy. But if you are looking for something different, you may not be so lucky. I was super open-minded, I think that helped me to be satisfied with my experience. - The room is large and comfortable, the bathroom is a decent size. The water pressure is not ideal, but showering there for just for one week is ok. Shampoo/soap and conditioner are not good, bring your own. The air conditioning was ok, the noise was not an issue for me, but due to the power outages, the generator does not support the use of the air conditioning, which means that during the period when the power is not being provided by the company, we did not have air conditioning. We stayed in #1255, and one night after the power went out, everything came back on except the A/C, it was too late to ask for it to be fixed, so in short, it was a TERRIBLE night's sleep. Other than that, it was okay. - Mosquitos will eat you alive. Use repellent many times per day. - The activities are cool, kayaking, SUP, trapeze, shows at night and music after the show. Due to the weather, we only got to do kayak one day at the beginning of the week, than the water was too "violent" and lots of wind. It's pretty cool for a 3.5 ⭐ to have these options of activities included. I wasn't in the mood to party during this trip, so it wasn't a problem for me that the disco was closed and they had the "party" next to the bar. The shows and parties were almost empty every night during the week I was there, but those who wanted to have fun, had fun. - The drinks were ok. Not the best, but drinkable. Ralph and Pedro are the best bartenders! They work hard, are kind and funny. - The food was a little disappointing. I expected more variety. I was expecting to have more fruits, but what we had daily was melon, watermelon, pineapple and sometimes orange and apple. NO mango, papaya, grapes, strawberries, fruit salad, etc... Breakfast was just slices of bread, no croissants or any other kind of bread, no bacon and the cheese was basically Kraft cheese. Good point, they had someone making omelets. They also had the same kind of fruit as the other meals. No fresh juice, not even at breakfast. And the juice from the machine is horrible. I heard that the coffee at the bar was much better than the one from the buffet. Snack bar is a joke. And at least for the week that we were there, there was no pizza late night. Overall, the food was just ok, every day we had a few rice and pasta options for lunch and dinner, and chicken/pork or beef. We literally had sauteed cabbage one day and cabbage lasagna the next.. Do you know what I mean?! 🙊 A la carte restaurants doesn't open every night, the app doesn't work for booking, so we needed to book it with the front desk. Staff from the specials restaurants are nice, food is a bit better than the buffet. It was my first time in the Bahamas, I was happy and grateful for the experience overall. But I felt like I was in Cuba (my reference for Cuba is 2019, and it was ok). Being 100% honest, I wouldn't go back or recommend it to a friend just because I think you can find better for a similar price. But if my only travel option was to go to Viva Fortuna, then I would rather go than do nothing.
