What We Love

Smitten over that lazy river - pure refreshing relaxation, especially with the house specialty margarita in tow. (Heaven).

Rooms decorated in happy, Mexican inspired hues with sitting areas and terraces for extra comfort.

Stress-squashing massages by the beach with soothing ocean waves - beyond bliss.

Bountiful beachside palapas give you just enough shade - and a prime location to dip into the sea.

Early check-in and late check-out - maximize all that beach lovin'.

Delicious food - all day long - beachside, poolside, resortside. (Fact: you won't go hungry).

The fitness center lets you work off all that yummy guac and chips, and the adult beverages you lost count of.

Things to Know

10-acre beachfront property that is only five minutes from the airport and in walking distance to Marina Vallarta (500 yacht-sized slips for viewing!) and an 18-hole golf course.

The Kids Club keeps your little loved ones entertained while you decompress beachside.

Activities are happening throughout the day - if you so wish to move from your lounger: Marina Vallarta walk, Bingo, Ping Pong, Black Jack - just to name a scant few.

For those tennis lovers out there, three lit tennis courts are ready for your sports prowess.

Walks along the beach, especially when the sun is about to set are beachtacular. Get your cameras ready.

Velas Vallarta: Viva la Vavoom

Set in one of the most beautiful parts of Puerto Vallarta, Banderas Bay and the Sierra Madre Mountains are epic. They alone will blow up your Facebook page, but this luxury resort includes all the perks you've come to expect, especially as a professional True Beach Lover (it's a thing, and a hashtag aka #truebeachlover). Grab a lounger, grab a drink (you don't need to be told twice) and grab yourself a truly beachy vacay.

A very relaxed atmosphere for families

A great place to go as family and for family reunions. Very relaxed, laid back atmosphere. Not too many activities offered by the resort. Food is good but the repetitiveness of the menu items day after day is a little tiresome. If they change the menu for each day, I would give a 5 star instead of a 4 star. Excellent, courteous people manage and serve at the restaurants. Cleaning services should be commended for the way they look after the property and the rooms. We upgraded to one of the suites with three bed rooms and that was the best decision we made! We were with our two children and their spouses, an infant and a toddler. They even provided a crib for the infant and extra bed for the toddler. They were very accommodating .

Best resort experience we've ever had

Everything is top-notch here. The customer service is unparalleled, all the way from the travel coordinator booking your flights to the servers on the pool deck keeping you well fed and hydrated. We recommend this resort to everyone we know - families, couples, adults - it's really the perfect fit for anyone looking to get away.

    Fabulous family get away!

Excellent service, clean rooms, great food, wonderful beach. Absolute paradise! The morning yoga class is a fantastic way to wake up each day. Luis at the swim up bar is amazing, Raul at Andrea is the best and made each meal a ton of fun!

    Fabulous Family Vacation

We took our family of 8, 6 adults and 2 young children to Velas Vallarta in mid-February. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the whole all-inclusive experience from the spacious well-stocked rooms, resort setting, pools, service staff (the best!) and the food. Seemed everyone could enjoy their own activities and while still enjoying the whole vacation as a family. The crepe and ice cream bars were a big hit with the kids!

    Lovely setting, good for families

We stayed in building 2, 7th floor, which was an excellent location! It was a suite with a lovely beach view with a balcony and small, equipped kitchen. It had a king bed and a pull out couch. The bed was comfortable and the room was fine - clean, but a bit dated. The bathroom was nice and the water pressure in the shower was awesome! The food at the resort was our least favorite part of the experience. It was okay. There was less variety of any other all inclusive resort we've stayed at in Mexico and the dishes were just "okay." The fruit was delicious and there was always salad available which was a plus. The Andrea (requires reservations for dinner) was our favorite spot for breakfast and dinner and we usually ordered by the pool/visited the buffet for lunch. The nature was the star of the show at this resort. The whole place is small, with easy access for a stroller, walker, or wheel chair. The kitchen in the suite would make it easy for people preparing bottles or special foods for those on a limited diet. Another plus of this resort was it's easy access from the airport. And a local shopping area (the Marina) within 15-min walking distance. Though we didn't visit, it also seems that the downtown area of town is quickly and inexpensively accessible. I would recommend this resort for people (families or couples who don't mind lots of kiddos) staying for a short visit. I would recommend tipping servers regularly (not necessarily the norm at other all inclusive resorts).
