What We Love
- The easy walk to St. Lawrence Gap is one of our favorite features of this resort.
- Barbados nightlife is just a short walk from the resort.
- Kid's can enjoy a variety of great entertainment at the Kids' Club while parents unwind in the whirlpool.
Things to Know
- The resort is only 15 minutes from Gold Coast Airport.
- If you can, make your trip during turtle nesting season (April to November). It's an amazing chance to see endangered sea life.
- The resort's onsite activities are great options for adults and families alike.
The wildlife, though, is only the first draw of this resort in Barbados. All-inclusive packages feature the hotel's three restaurants, two freshwater swimming pools and a boatload of water sports. Try your hand at windsurfing, or watch for tropical fish from a kayak or canoe. When you're ready to explore the surrounding town of Dover, make the three-minute walk to St. Lawrence Gap, or "The Gap" as locals like to call it, a hub of shops and vibrant nightlife.
An island vibe in a natural setting awaits you at this resort. Barbados' South Coast beach seems laid out just for your viewing pleasure from the private balcony of your artfully decorated room. When you arrive at the hotel, the open-air lobby welcomes you with fresh ocean breezes and a laid-back atmosphere. Each of the rooms is a suite, providing you with all the creature comforts of home. But you're not at home, you're on a Caribbean vacation, complete with beach concierge service bringing you fresh fruit and afternoon tea. And, when it's time for dinner, sample fine dining at Asiagos, the highest-rated Italian restaurant in all of Barbados.
Bringing a handful of kids along? The resort's Flying Fish Kids' Club is the perfect place for them to hang out and play beach cricket, table tennis and Nintendo Wii. Even "too-cool-for-school" teenagers like the foosball setup and pool table. And with the crackle of Caribbean energy in the air, those who join in the Kids' Club's educational and cultural activities will be too absorbed by their island surroundings to even realize they are learning. Meanwhile, it's playtime for the grown-ups as they relax in the whirlpool or embark on a rum distillery tour.

Great location but really needs renovations
Pros: - Turtle Beach is SO clean (arguably most important) - Wonderful service and staff - Food options were limited but overall fairly tasty - Upgraded us to a beautiful oceanfront view - Location is fantastic in St Lawrence Gap, which is a great place to go for two women looking for night life, it was on the edge of a strip with many bars Cons: - REALLY needs work and I wouldn't recommend it until Marriott goes in and renovates it - Very overpriced - Wifi was hilariously non-existent and very frustrating to constantly try and connect - Zero sound proofing in the rooms even though the resort itself was dead; on my last day, I said to my friend as we woke up, wouldn't it have been nice to wake up organically on vacation and not from the noise in the other rooms and hallways? - Very dated, water problems, needing work - Quite boring/dead - absolutely nothing happened after 10pm
Perfectly sized resort that gives an intimate vibe and allows impeccable service. The staff really goes out of their way to accommodate needs and always puts the customer first. The resort is very well kept and in tip top shape. Has an ambiance you won't find in newer properties.
great stay hotel little tired but the staff made up for that they went out of there was to help as much as possible ,service excellent ,food great had a excellant holiday would go back beach was clean and great ,lovely time spent there
Lovely facilities, fabulous staff
We went for a week to Turtle Beach hotel. The hotel has lovely facilities and the place is kept spotless. Every single member of staff was so helpful and friendly, especially the guys who look after you around the pool, bringing drinks, fruit and lollies 👍👍 Food quality was excellent, drinks lovely. It was easy to book the a la carte restaurants and no limit how many times you could go to them. The only single criticism I could give is that our room’s bathroom was a bit dated and tired looking. However our room was lovely, large and kept immaculate by the housekeepers.
a week in the carribean sun
my wife and I booked a flop and drop week in the sun. Weather superb, 30/31 daily, rain on 2 mornings only (not bad for march.) Food plentiful (all buffet ) but poor choice. The food got worse as the week went by - but I think this was in line with the coronavirus situation. On the day we left people were being advised to leave.Staff were superb - but a note of interest is we found the elderly staff a little more grumpy. !!! Hotel very dated - but pleasant enough. One to tick off.
