The Best Massage!
I have been visiting the Senator since 2018.. at least twice per year, and always get a massage from Maria Belkis. This lady has magical hands and I leave totally relaxed.

Amazing Stay at Senator Puerto Plata – Highly Recommend!
My boyfriend and I stayed here for 14 days and had an incredible experience. Here’s what stood out: The Beach: One of the best beaches I’ve ever seen. Yes, it’s a bit rocky right in front of the hotel, but walk a little to the right toward the neighboring resorts and it becomes sandy. The third resort is empty, so you’ll have the beach completely to yourself – peaceful and perfect! The Staff: Friendly, helpful, and professional – truly the best we’ve encountered so far! They never expected tips and were never pushy about it. Special shoutout to Julian at the Larimar buffet – thank you for your warm smile, excellent service, and for always remembering my drink order. You made our experience feel personal and special! The Food: So much variety and something new was added every day. We were there for two weeks and never got bored of the food ! The Room: We stayed in the older section, but our room was spacious, clean, and comfortable. It was cleaned every day. The bathtub (not a walk-in shower) worked perfectly for us. Mini fridge worked great and we received two large bottles of cold water daily – a nice touch! The Entertainment: I read complaints before coming, but honestly, there was a different show every night! Not your style? No problem – just walk to the next-door resort and enjoy their entertainment instead. If I had one small wish: more bachata music and dancing! The Only Downside – The Snack Bar: We tried it once for lunch and had a disappointing experience. My boyfriend asked for three different plates and was told each time they were no longer available (this was at 1:30 PM). The two girls working there exchanged knowing looks – it felt like they just didn’t want to serve us. We left and returned to the buffet, where the service was excellent as always. Despite the one hiccup at the Snack Bar, we felt safe, relaxed, and well taken care of at the Senator! Highly recommend it – we would love to come back!

The resort needs major updates. The rooms are outdated. Our bathroom sink was peeling every time we took a shower. I will not recommend this place to anyone. The only reason I gave it a 3 stars is because of the friendly hard working staff there.
