General Policies & Fine Print
Check-in Policy - Hotel requires a credit/debit card authorization or cash deposit upon check-in for incidentals; this will place a hold on your funds.
Convention Policy - Individuals attending a convention cannot book this property for their stay. If found attending a convention, guests may be subject to higher room rates upon arrival.
Spring Break Policies - Minimum Age Condition: At least one person 21 years or older is required in every room during February thru May. The Hotel reserves the right of admission and may request guests show passport or official ID to prove age. During the remainder of the year, at least one person 18 or older is required in every room. Guests can and will be removed from the property at their own expense in case of any disturbance or complaint from other guests or hotel staff.
Please note: Student/Spring Breaker Groups (21 years of age or older) will be accepted at this resort only for the month of March!
- All Student/Spring Breaker Group reservations are strictly on request and will be reviewed on a case by case basis by the corresponding Destination Sales Department. The resort reserves the right of admission and may reject any request at its sole discretion.
- If a Student/Spring Breaker Group is accepted: The number of rooms will be deducted from the contracted allotments; Minimum Age requirement: 21 years of age or older.; The Hotel may request proof of age in the form of passport or official ID. Each room must submit a signed liability agreement upon check-in.
- Guests disturbing or generating complaints from other guests or hotel may be removed from the property, at their own expense.
- Parties in rooms are not permitted.
The resort will allow these “Supervised Family Student Groups” as an exception to its Student/Spring Breaker Group Policy, always on an on-request basis and; if and only if they fit the following criteria:
- Students are traveling in the company of a parent/s or Legal Guardian/s.
- Each room booked has at least 1 (one) responsible parent or guardian sharing with their underage children (18 or younger) up to the maximum of occupants permitted in the specific room category.
- Parent/s or guardian/s must be willing to sign a responsibility agreement.
Transfer Policy - A price may display when children stay free, if your vacation includes transfer to your hotel.

A lot of walking choices for food
I loved it. I didn’t mind the walking depending on where you eat. I was in a building with its own buffet and close to the beach. Lunch was at resto or the pool where they had burgers / hotdogs . During my time, the pools by the beach were jammed. during the pool parties in the other area , it got loud especially the night ones. Ask for a room away from this area. All the food was great. Location great as well, Clean gym Room very spacious. Only annoying thing is the beach vendors. Would definitely go back.
Violent room robbery
This hotel is NOT SAFE. We were at the resort during spring break with about 190 employees from our company. Both the military and police were staying on the property and patrolling regularly. Despite this, our room door was violently kicked open while we were out having dinner. The safe was damaged and the hotel security had to use a pry bar to open it. The cash from our wallet was taken. We had to move rooms and the room we were given was very poor, the toilet didn't even work. We tried to file a report with management but they said they had no authority to deal with us and we needed to write to head office upon our return. After several weeks of trying to get a response, all that management offered was an apology and two nights stay should we return. This hotel was a big disappointment from the get go. The al la carte restaurants are all buffets. The food was very substandard and 27 of our employees became ill during their stay. the college students at the resort were allowed to party in the halls all night and the pools were unswimable due to excessive spilt drinks and you guessed it! it was hard to find any staff who would smile. It must be a hell hole to work at.
Simply loved the resort,,would definitely go back in better times. The airport is smaller so we were in and out within 20 minutes. Our bus trip took about 50 minutes from the airport but once we got to the resort check in was fast. Resort is huge but always something to do ,the live entertainment at night was always good. Can’t wait to go back!
Huge resort, needs update.
My wife and I came to this resort for a wedding and let me say, this was surprisingly underwhelming. This resort is absolutely massive! I could not believe how big it was. It will take roughly half an hour just to get around the whole thing. There are cool things like the big waterslides, though, we never went ourselves, our friends said they had a good time. There are also a bunch of pools. And a couple swim up bars. Almost all of the employees are awesome. They are very accommodating, and helped us any time we needed. I will say, this place needs an update. As the rooms were subpar for a 5 star resort. Some plugs were falling out/not working. We had an issue with the ac unit as soon as we walked in the room (it was fixed within the hour), the bathroom was seeing its last days, as the handle inside of the tub was rusting. There was lots of tiles missing from all the pools. Overall it could use a facelift. The food was okay. Far from the greatest i’ve had. The breakfasts were great though! We didn’t enjoy lunches that much and didn’t care much for the dinners either. Except the steakhouse. The steakhouse is by far the best in the resort. Though, we did have to send a steak back to get the proper cook, and it still wasn’t done enough. Unfortunately for us, we came when it was party time for many college students. So the bars were packed, and the nights were very loud. I don’t blame the resort for them, though I wish they surveyed around the bedrooms, as there was constant yelling, and breaking of glasses. In the mornings, it was an often occurrence to walk over broken glass. Which isn’t the cleaning persons fault, i feel like it’s a security issue. My final gripe was the beach. As there are an unbelievable amount of salespeople. They are constantly hounding you buy random things. So as you are trying to soak up some sun you will be constantly be turning down people. We counted 30 times in 1 hour. I understand this is the cheapest option for Riu in Cabo. Were we given an option, we would have paid more for one of the nicer resorts. And I would recommend other to do the same.
Just a heads up to all guests. Your personal safety within your own room is at great risk. I left my iPad in the room to recharge while we went to supper between 5-7 pm. Returned to the room and it was gone. Filed a report with the manager. Our room, like many other's can be opened under 5 seconds with a credit card. This means your room and safety are compromised 24/7. Head office in Spain says, if the iPad was not in the room safe, it's not their problem. Have been to 6 different Rius over the years, now I will continue to warn guests, that they are not safe even if you are at a resort..
