Great Chefs and service
Chefs Fabiola and Pepe made our day! Fabiola brought us a nice cheese cake dessert on our 2nd day here to celebrate an anniversary. Chef Pepe made some awesome cevichi today on the VIP rooftop area. They go out of their way to make us feel special. Thank you very much 😊

A Great Stay With Great Food and Excellent Service
This was our second trip to this resort, but the first since before the pandemic. As with most everything it was not quite the same as before. However, we can still recommend this resort to most and would return. Note: We have read some pretty negative reviews of this resort on this site recently and in our view, those reviews are not accurate. This is an affordable 4-star Mexican all-inclusive resort. Those who expect the Waldorf Astoria, a 6-star hotel, or total perfection just because it is an all-inclusive will come away with a negative impression that is, in our view, not fair. Note: This resort does not use single-use plastics. All cups are re-usable and in your room you will find 2 glass refillable bottles to use during your stay. Each building has multiple 5-stage water stations on each floor and they work. The water didn't taste funny and neither of us got sick. You will not find plastic waste on this resort. As usual, our reviews are broken up into sections dealing with service, hotel grounds, room, pool, restaurants and facilities. That way you can skip to what you are interested in or, just read on... Service 4/5 The service at this resort was quite good, in our experience. Check-in was fast and friendly. We had requested a specific room multiple times and are return customers, but they did not accommodate us. That was disappointing, but not a really big deal. Bar service at the pool was fantastic, both in terms of the bar itself and poolside service (thank you Ale!). The main lobby bar, La Adelita, also had wonderful service. Hector at the bar was terrific and table service from Mayra was outstanding. Mayra is simply one of the best servers we have ever encountered. The only thing I would note regarding service is that in the restaurants they did seem to be short-staffed, and we have seen this at all-inclusives since the pandemic and we don't believe that this is an issue specific to any one resort. The staff worked hard, but at times there didn't seem to be enough to meet demand. Hotel Grounds 5/5 This is a beautiful, clean hotel on a stunning, gorgeous beach that you can walk for miles. Marble floors everywhere and surprisingly clean bathrooms. The views from the rooftop bar at the front of the resort are stunning. The decor in the lobby is really quite wonderful as well. It's a beautiful place. The layout makes it so that you don't have to deal with stairs if you don't want, as there are flat walkways and elevators in every building. This is a medium sized resort. It isn't small, nor is it the massive complex a-la Mayan Riviera. But you will get some steps in here. You should be aware that the resort is about an hour away from the airport and isn't in town. If you like to shop or go off-resort you will need a shuttle to Sayulita, Bucerias or PV proper. Room 3.5/5 We had a Premium Sunset View room. We had asked for building 1, but ended up in building 2. Our room was was clean, the walk-in shower worked, and the bed was very comfortable. The decor, furniture, fixtures and overall condition of the room is starting to show some age, but certainly is not run-down. Maid service was very good. Mini-fridge was stocked daily with pop (coke products and sparkling water) and beer (Dos Equis). Our only complaint was that they had the thermostats set to not go below 23 Celsius. That was cooler than outside, but not quite cool enough for one of us. We asked for them to lower the temperature, but they never did. So, if you need serious air conditioning after a hot day at the pool, maybe this resort isn't for you. I think that for folks who live in Vallarta 23C is quite refreshing, but for those of us from colder climates, 23C is a hot summer day. This is our biggest complaint about this resort. The bed was comfy, but I slept without the blanket on. It wasn't stifling or hot in the room or anything and I wasn't sweating at night. But when it's 29C outside, it should be cooler than 23C inside. In other resorts where we have stayed, there have been multiple weddings where the guests celebrated rather enthusiastically, well into the night, and said celebrations could be heard, sometimes interrupting our sleep. That did not happen here. Whether that was a feature of our particular room location or due to the layout of the hotel is hard to say, but compared to other resorts, we were not subject to the revelry, drunken arguments and loud celebrations of late-night partiers. Pool 4/5 This resort has 2 pools and a splash park for the little ones. The main pool is split into an upper and lower section. There is a second "activity" pool, but there were activities run by the entertainment staff in both pools. The staff were quite good and it was nice to see Marco Polo again, who is always checking on guests to see how they are doing. The main pool has a swim up bar as well. As with pools at all-inclusive resorts they start the day cleaner than they end it. We felt the pool was still in pretty good shape and the staff did a decent job keeping it clean. Being Gen-Xers neither of us was that crazy about the music at the pool, but sometimes it was good. Being at the beginning of the winter holiday season for those of us from the cold, I think they may have been programming more for the locals, who were about half the guests. They count too, so not a big complaint. The activities could sometimes get loud, so if you like absolute peace and quiet, maybe this isn't for you. What really irritates us is other guests who bring their own speakers to the pool and you end up hearing two sets of music. Or more. If this is you, know that you are a thoughtless, rude, selfish person and you should stop this awful, sadly-too-frequent practise and become a better neighbour. Restaurants 4/5 There is a main buffet, a lunch buffet, 4 a-la cartes, a pizza place, and a taco bar down by the beach. The main buffet serves breakfast (7am) and dinner (6:30pm). It has a different theme every night like Italian, Asian, Spanish, International, Mexican, etc. So, there was always a variety of food and we never got bored with it. We really enjoyed the food at this buffet. The taco bar down by the beach (12pm-5pm) was also very good. The fish tacos were outstanding! We didn't go to the pizza place. The only a-la carte we visited on this trip was the Japanese and we loved it. The show cooking was a lot of fun and the food was delicious. On previous trips we had done the others (Mexican, French and Steakhouse) and enjoyed them. The French one is made up to look like European rail cars. We did hear some complaints from other guests about the service times in those a-la cartes. However, apparently the salmon in the steakhouse was a highlight for a few. Facilities 4/5 There are conference facilities here that we obviously didn't use. There is also a spa and a fitness centre. We didn't use the spa, as it was a bit pricey for us, but the fitness centre was quite adequate for an all-inclusive. 2 recumbent bikes, 1 elliptical, 3 treadmills, one stairmaster. Free weights, weight machines and a squat rack. Not bad. We're not including a section on entertainment this time because we didn't go to any shows. There was live entertainment some nights in the lobby bar, but it was more background than anything. Conclusion We had a wonderful 10-night stay at this resort this year. We loved the food, the drinks, the service and had a lot of fun. We can recommend it for people of all ages, couples and families. However, if you want easier access to off-resort shopping or restaurants, this one is a bit isolated. Overall score 4/5 Absolutely willing to answer questions from fellow travelers.

A perfect wedding
My wife and I held our wedding here in Nov 2024. We had 65 guests and it was amazing. All our guests were commenting on how perfect of a wedding it was and how nice the beach, pools and overall hotel was. Abel was our wedding planner and he did a great job. The hotel provided DJ was good and the food served was very good.
