The staff is the highlight of our trip. You can tell the true happiness versus the normal professional courtesy. I can't say enough about how well we were treated. Any concerns we had were immediately addressed. I saw a lot of maintenance going on and the infrastructure was excellent and well maintained. I thought the food was above average with great service. Another highlight I'd like to mention are the trees on the beach. They made wonderful natural shade and you felt truly lost in an awesome way. The beach was very clean as was the rest of the resort. I'd like to wish the staff and their families all the best since I now understand the resorts are closed due to the pandemic.
Last August my wife, son and I enjoyed a trip to Montego Bay, where we stayed at the Iberostar. The beautiful scenic view from the pool (as it is set above the beach), makes you feel that the water could carry you straight into the warm ocean. The food was delicious, and Chef Doran helped make the experience most enjoyable! He was very friendly and courteous, and we appreciate how he always went out of his way to make sure our son’s special dietary concerns were met. - He made us feel like family. Thank you Iberostar, and ‘Big Up’ Chef Doran!!!
This is the 2nd time at this hotel (first time was 6 years ago) My husband and I went to bahia runaway bay last year but we came back to Iberostar this year because we like it better. First off I had read in previous reviews that people were saying that the staff were unfriendly etc. so I was a bit worried of what to expect on my return but from the get-go they were all extremely friendly and accomodating. Natasha and a group of the girls sang Happy Birthday to me as soon as they found that it was my Birthday, and she had a small cake sent to my room. The only thing that bothered us was that we allowed ourselves to get sucked into a high pressure couple hour vacation club sales pitch, thankfully we got a free couples massage for our troubles and it was raining that day so we did not miss beach time! My favourite a la carte was the Japanese it was delicious! I must also say that the bartender Patrice and the night time bar girls make a great Cosmo! I will return again, the only thing that I don't enjoy is the beach vendors, but they are only allowed on the beach for a limited time during the day, typically before 9am and after 3pm. Usually you can just politely decline and they will move on.
Everyone is super friendly and always will to help. The food is amazing. They have a variety of different foods. They keep the place extremely clean. They do a great job cleaning the rooms and always leave a little surprise.
From the first day we arrived there were nothing but issues, starting with our toilet that just didn’t flush and had to be looked at twice. The resort is in dire need of a renovation and the grounds were not kept up with at all. Chipped paint, stains on the walls and just dirty every where! One day there was a used tissue in the elevator all day long! None of the staff took the time to pick it up all day! And the BIGGEST problem is they run out of everything! No bananas for the Dirty Banana drinks, no lemons for the frozen lemonades, no Jamaican patties and the cappuccino machine was broken one morning in the buffet. You were also served a mimosa in a cup instead of a champagne glass. All around this resort was very disappointing and did not meet my expectations at all. Will never return or recommend!
