    Excellent Resort and Wonderful Staff!

We stayed at Iberostar Quetzal for 7 nights and absolutely LOVED our stay! The staff is so friendly, helpful, and welcoming. Ajelandro was wonderful! He is a gem to keep on the Iberostar team. He has a great personality, is very funny, very fun and engaging, and was very helpful answering any questions we had. He remembered us after our first encounter and that was meaningful. We also really liked Dominique, who was so sweet and fun! She was very genuine and kind. Omar with the pool concierge was very helpful, empathetic, and kind as well. The food was excellent. The drinks were great. There was so much to do each day, including fun games that enhanced our stay! The resort itself is beautiful. The cleaning staff maintains it wonderfully. We cant say enough good things and cannot wait to return! :)

    Rainforest Delight

We love this place! We love that it is in the jungle and there are animals everywhere. This hotel is two in one and I was worried it would feel crowded, but it does not. The staff is amazing and friendly and very helpful. The food was delicious. Rooms were clean and comfortable. I hope to return one day!

Being Club Members is a DISADVANTAGE in this resort as staff go out of their way to be rude, abrupt, and espc male staff

Beautiful beach, clean and few corals so really enjoyed swim in the ocean with my family. Also decent tides so overall ocean wise it was A-mazing. The hotel itself another story. We are Silver Club members, 1st day checking at starprestige lounge, very cold reception and the cheapest welcome package (a platic water bottle, bottle opener, hand fan). No mai tai or any special drinks offered as a welcome!!!! We were there for 2 weeks, the 1st week noticed the staff go out of their way to treat members worse, rude, abrupt, short. One night I was taking some snacks out of buffet for my son who was playing pool. I was stopped by 3 ladies (concierge) and asked to return it. Right after 2 caucasian couples have plates full of food and are greated with a thank-you. Sam experience with my partner, bar refused to serve her drinks as they were opening in 10 mins, right after a few mins a large crowd of non-members (caucasian) come and they are served drinks whilst the bar is still closed. The worse was week 2, my son had left 500pes and the cleaning lady came in right after he left the rm. The money was missing so we suggested to starprestige to ask the cleaning person if bymistake the money was in the sheets that she just changed. What a large production by the startprestige staff, they accompanied the security person to our room and wanted to go through all our personal items including underwear. That when I told them to leave right away. Two days before we leave, the Starprestige manager and memberservices customercare person (after 6 emails and getting a cold reception from these same people when we went to the member lounge), they decidied to meet for breakfast and to apologize. Too late (a dollar short and a day late!!!).

    Almost amazing :(

Pros: This place was absolutely beautiful! Jungle vibes with monkeys and peacocks to match. The beach was perfect for swimming with the kids. Staff was friendly and attentive to almost all Cons: Giving 3 stars because 4 out of 5 day we stayed, the power went out completely several times, and was flickering off/on the rest. We didn’t spend much time in our room, but I’m sure it happened throughout the day (not to mention how long before we got there?). So hot and humid in Mexico in June without ac. Nothing would stay cold in fridge with power on and off. The one day we had no power issues, we had no hot water. We called front desk 3 times and got different bs answers. I also went to front desk at 8am with no hot water, we were asked to verify no hot water. It was fixed but nothing was ever done to make up for the frustration and inconvenience. The cleaning people would only seem to do a complete job if you left money each day. Got major attitude from the lady cleaning because we happened to be there for 10 minutes to change clothes in the day when she came by. The main dinner attraction there is a Japanese place, big expectations. The chef there kept dropping his utensils, and missed everyone by at least 1m when attempting to toss food. Kept saying “no mas tequila” and it was funny, but I do think he was under some sort of influence. Food was good though, sushi/soup, fried rice with meats. First big trip with the kids so I spent a lot of $$. The night time activities were lacking as well. 1 show worth seeing in 5 nights but that one was really good. Definitely don’t plan on going back.

Like walking into a Jungle, nice small resort.

When we arrived we heard howler monkeys, very loud! It was fun watching them on the roofs and in the trees. Rooms were clean, beach was nice, food was good, staff was helpful and plenty of beach chairs. Unique place. I liked it was different from any other resort we have been to. Not much for entertainment though.
