It was everything I was promised!!!
I split my time between 2 resorts, and this was my second resort from my 2-week trip. Oh wow, had I know the difference between the 2 resorts, I would have just stayed here for the whole 2 weeks. This place blew the other resort I stayed in out of the water, unfortunately I stayed at that resort first. It was a 5-star service all the way--from the beautiful resort to the staff, who were nothing but friendly and helpful. I would definitely come here again!!!! Rooms: clean, spacious, modern, comes with a great balcony and tub in the main room. Gym: great gym for some morning workout before all the food and champagne! Staff: wonderful, great service Food: The food was better than the last resort I was at, prior to coming here for my vacation. The presentation was also better, space looked cleaned, which made the food more appetizing. The restaurants were also, I had one of my best meals at the French place on my last night there and I absolutely was pleased!!! If you're looking between this place and other resorts, hands down you should go here.
I usually don’t write reviews, but reading some of these negative posts.....well, I couldn’t help myself. I was at Excellence last March for the first time, and the truth is the resort was modern, grounds was clean, staff was accommodating and the food was exceptional! I will be making arrangements to revisit this Excellence resort again this coming year. Management and staff......WELL DONE!
2nd Vist & Didn't Disappoint
We visited in March, so sorry for the delay in giving a review, I have only just remembered I hadn't done it. It was another fantastic trip, the staff were great and I couldn't believe how many of them remembered our names from our first visit in October 2019, they were all really pleased to see us. A special mention to Reynaldo on reception who looked after us, his customer service is a credit to the hotel. The animation team, Luz, Junior, Nicki M, Coca cola and Jose, you are all brilliant. To Hector for keeping us hydrated and Joel who was fab in the restaurants we visited. The hotel is wonderful, with fantastic grounds which are clean and maintained to a very high standard. All the restaurants are fantastic, we had one disappointing meal in the stake house one night as the food was cold, but we told the food & beverage manager who was furious, we never had another bad meal. We just have a basic garden view room as we spend such little time in the room we feel this is enough, the room is bright and clean with a lovely huge shower, it serves us well during our stay. Due to the Covid19 situation the hotel was really quiet which was a shame, but the staff were great. As we left the hotel was about to close due to the border being shut and I hope all the friends we have made at the EPC are ok and keeping safe & well. We will return once the world returns to same normality, we miss you all and wish you and your fail's the very best. Thanks EPC, your the best.
After our 18 member family trip was understandable cancelled due to the Covid-19 virus, I have been waiting 5 weeks so far for my refund. I have called once a week to follow up and get the same story. I have been very patient and totally understand that we are in incredibly difficult times. BUT, I have a very large credit card bill due in a week and I am obviously not going to pay it. I have been assuming that the refund would be made by now. I have to say that when it comes time to hopefully rebook this trip I am going to think twice about going to an Excellence Resort. The lack of help and communication is extremely frustrating!
Third times a charm
This past March, before the "great shut down", we enjoyed our third visit to Excellence. Fantastic place to say the least, the reason we keep retuning is that everything is so well done... the rooms are clean and well stocked. the restaurants have some of the best food we have found in the DR. the staff is over the top! Friendly, kind and at your service. beach is a bit windy at times but the various pools make up for that. The Club Level is the best way to go! Can't wait for a little normalcy so we can return. When you go be sure to check out The Grill. great little steakhouse and be sure to ask for Niguel Reys or Ranphi... they will take exceptional care of you.
