What We Love

Bright, happy hues - pinks, greens & yellows that scream Caribbean, which produce the perfect mingling of elation and calm.

Therapeutic massage at the Waldorf Astoria spa.

Infinity pool along with water slides for your kids that allows you to relax un-splashed - no one wants pool water in their cocktail.

The Pool Ambassadors at the infinity pool for your every bidding.

Palomino Island. You can sunbathe au naturel, but be sure to bring your suit - the one you got on your birthday.

An 18-hole golf course where you can ride around getting sauced & trash talk about other players.

When you're in The Grand Hotel, you can take glass elevators down to a shopping promenade.

You can use self-serve funiculars to reach Las Olas Village and La Marina Village.

Things to Know

It's 37 miles from the airport, about an hour of driving time, during which you can curate your drink menu for the first day.

Lots of kewl excursions to check out: the El Yunque Rainforest, the coral in Bioluminscent Biobay, or a deep sea adventure on the dreamy Atlantic.

Take a high-speed catamaran to (and from) Palomino Island for horseback riding and snorkeling, but you can't do them together. That would be hard.

Head to the marina and take a spin on a high-powered jet ski. If that's too much, descend into the clear blue on a scuba diving adventure.

One of the two funiculars can take you to the ferry that will shuttle you to Palomino Island (au naturel beach, half-nekked people.)

Las Olas Village is accessible by one of the funiculars and is terraced into the cliff side, 100 feet above La Marina Village.

Las Casitas Village is on the hillside below The Grand Hotel and inland from the ocean.

El Conquistador, A Waldorf Astoria Resort: Escape To A Private Island Retreat

Through the weave of palm trees overhead you take in a few slivers of blue sky. But you are perfectly content with these small morsels. You know that not far from you is a thriving, bustling tropical wonderland spanning five villages with everything (and more) you need: an exotic, critter-filled rainforest for hiking and a Bioluminscent Biobay for coral gazing, for starters. And then there are the creature comforts out the wazoo: a serene infinity pool, gourmet nosh spots, a stress-crushing spa and killer golf course. And this just the tippy top of the long list of Awesome that's here. But no matter, all you want to do right now is descend back into your chill zone until you're ready to open your eyes again, where a few of the many niceties you'll enjoy include:

A resort fee (included in the listed price) guarantees you access to the following services and amenities:

  • Unlimited local and toll-free phone calls
  • Fitness center access (Promenade Level)
  • Weekly resort activities including Scout About
  • Wi-Fi access in public areas and guest rooms
  • In-room electronic safes

Note: This resort is NOT all-inclusive. Food and beverages must be purchased separately, but know that they're totally delish. So here's a good way to think about this: unless otherwise specified, all services are available for an additional charge.
