Iberostar Coral Level is the adults only hotel in a larger families resort. Coral level is a beautiful and small with it's own pool and beach area away from the famiy side Positives *All the rooms face the ocean *Easy access to the pool and beach *Plenty of chairs on the beach and at the pool *If you like the distraction of the beach entrepreneurs, like me, they are there throughout the day (you just have to shake your head or say no if you don't want them to bother you) * Pool has a swim up bar *Snacks were cooked through out the day by the towel booth *Service on the beach was excellent *All the employees were amazing Tip them for their service!!! *Breakfast buffet at the only Coral Level Restaurant is well done Room *Beautiful and clean We had a higher floor so the view was spectacular *Cleaning and turn down service daily. We even were surprised by flowers and towel animals most days. *Fridge was well stocked. If we wanted something specific just leave a note and a couple dollars and it is stocked for you. Remember you can press a button next to your door when you leave to request maid service and please leave them tips!! *Beer is served in bottles and/or cans and always ice cold. Drinks are well mixed and you can choose the alcohol they use. The best mixed drinks are at the coffee bar in the lobby. Negatives *There is only one restaurant in Coral level it is buffet for breakfast and lunch with a menu that doesn't change much day to day. *Drink service is slow and refills are slower at the restaurant *At night, this restaurant is not a buffet and the menu is the same daily. Food is mediocre and bland. They should change the menu every day because this is the ONLY adults only Coral Level Restaurant. You can go to the family side for meals but all restaurants require a reservation usually a day ahead. Food is just okay in these restaurants and service is slow And there are kids and families in all of them. ***or have each restaurant close to families on a specific day each week to just service Coral guests i.e. Naga Hibachi open on Tuesday to just Coral level, La Parilla open on Thursday to just Coral level, etc. *The activities "director" was trying to hone his magic card tricks so would spend upwards of 45 minutes bothering one group of people after another doing terrible "magic" tricks and awful jokes saying Kay-so over and over as his filler. Would we go back? Even though the food was mediocre, yes we would definitely go back. It is a beautiful resort in a great location with unbelievable service.
Wonderful time at Coral Level
Five of us senior ladies visited early March. We had a terrific time. We made restaurant reservations two weeks before arrival. The resort is beautiful - not overly large, but you can go over to the other side which is considerably larger. Reading the reviews, I noticed that some folks were unhappy with the food at the ala carte restaurants. We were all very happy with the food served. Our favorite restaurant was the La Horma which served excellent food. We also enjoyed the steak house. For us, the American restaurant was the weakest. La Barca was just terrific. We all loved the many choices at breakfast, and lunch also served so many different options of food, We don’t know how you would not find something you like. Dinner at LaBarca was good too. Rooms are lovely, and kept immaculately clean everyday. The staff was wonderful. They could not do enough for you. They actually anticipate your needs. We did not like being in the sun, so they would keep moving our umbrellas so we would shaded. We enjoyed the pool exercises. David came around everyday to make sure we knew what activities were on for the evening. At La Horma, they did not have any decaf coffee. Our waiter (wish I could remember his name) actually went down to the coffee shop and got us some. The staff is truly a treasure. Even at the Pink Party, they would dance with the guests. You are to be commended for hiring such wonderful people. We can’t wait to return.
Legit 5 star resort. Great service and staff. Shoutout to Albin who made our experience even better. Food at Coral Level was great. Also very new tech in rooms, speakers throughout and chromecast. Room service could be ordered through the app. Overall good time. Will come back with other couples.
Highly recommend this resort!
We recently returned from 5 days at the Coral Level. Despite all of the issues going on in the world, this was a great escape and the Coral Section was the perfect choice for my wife and I. The 4 and 5 stars reviews posted on trip Advisor have most of the facts correct. It is adults only and we really appreciate that fact during spring break time. Although it is an older crowd there was still a mix of adult age groups during our stay. It is very laid back and relaxing. They do offer activities if you wish to participate, or just chill out as much as you want. Most of our time was relaxing but we did join some of the pool exercise groups that were fun. The staff here is very friendly and helpful. We did experience some lapses in service on the beach but never intentional. The building and grounds are perfect. All of the views are stunning and you feel like you are on top of the ocean. The rooms look exactly like the pictures posted. The pool area is always clean. And the beach is one of the best we have experienced at an a.i. resort. Plenty of seating options and great views. The ocean is rough this time of year so don't plan on swimming. Obviously we were there at an odd time for travel and it maybe was not as busy as usual, there was never an issue of enough chairs on the beach or pool. Having access to the areas of the Iberostar next door is a nice feature. The coffee shop near the front desk area of the main hotel became a favorite spot. There are a lot of comments in other reviews about the food. Overall our experience was good. Because of the more laid back pace at the Coral we prefered to dine at LaBarca for all of the meals. The snack bar also had good food as well. We did eat at the American Bistro in the main Iberostar and our experence was good. We also tried the main buffet in the Iberostar and it was very standard a.i. fare. We do agree with other reviews that the reservation system for the restaurants needs to be addressed. During our stay we were only able to get 9:00 pm reservations at American Bistro and the mexican restaurant. Between reviews online and speaking with others at the resort we decided to skip the mexican. We did go a bit early to the American and there were many empty tables. We appreciate them getting us in early. Other than that minor issue we would stay here again. From our walks along the beach and seeing other resorts there is no question Coral Level has the finest facilities, pool and beach. As noted earlier the service from the employees is top notch. I don't remember all the names, David was one we spoke with the most. But they are all great. If you are looking for a relaxing, adult, top notch resort I highly recommend Coral Level!
Small Hotel...Big service
First, we are seasoned 5 star hotel visitors. For this review I am comparing this hotel against the Secrets The Vine hotel just up the street from the Coral Level. We were at the vine in October 2019, and it was first rate. Great food, atmosphere, amenities, rooms and service. How does the Coral Level compare? Food: the food is good, but not as good as the vine. American Bistro, La Barqa, were the two best restaurants, but the buffet at coral level was good and the pool bar food was also good. don't bother going to the iberstar hotel buffet or mexican restaurant. reservations were needed for anything not at the coral, and for this level of hotel, you shouldn't need reservations. reservations are not needed at the vine, and the food was better. Atmosphere/Entertainment: very cool building and rooms. great ocean views from every room. the pool is great and the beach is awesome. the vine has more pools and a little more of a bigger resort feel. however, the smaller feel at coral is nice because you get to know the resort pretty quick. it has a very modern feel cool vibes everywhere. the lobby is very cool and intimate for entertainment and meeting guests. The entertainment at coral is actually very unique. they try hard to give you something different. one night had a trio singing songs from Jersey Boys and they were fantastic. another night, they had a synchronized swimming team in the pool. Yet another night, they had a dance/ring performers on the pool deck and they were quite good. They Always had a DJ spinning cool tunes in the lobby. Much better entertainment then the vine. Amenities: The vine had excellent amenities, but so did Coral Level. The beach is just as good, the loungers are actually better than the vine, the pool is good, but the vine has more pool choices. Coral level needs a big hot tub, and it really needs to heat the pool more. when we were there, there was a very strong wind which really cooled the pool down. when that happens they should have turned up the pool heat to make it more comfortable. Coral also has all the amenities of the sister Iberstar hotel next door, but that comes with kids being around. Rooms: both hotels have great rooms. however, at the Vine, you needed to have preferred level to get better drinks (better name brand liquor)and more access to the special roof top pool. Preferred level gets you a higher room and closer to the ocean. at coral, you really don't need to get the superior room to get a better view. all room levels come with access to everything and the view is amazing no mater what room you are in. in fact for some of the entertainment a lower floor level is even better to see some of the events. rooms feature blue tooth ceiling speakers and even chrome casting for your TV so you can watch netflix or amazon prime from your phone/tablet. really cool technology which the vine does not have. You really have to pay at the vine to get ocean front. Coral has a 2 person hot tub on the balcony which is the icing on the cake. great feature and it fills fast with tonnes of hot water. Service: Ok, service at this hotel is impeccable. you go to the swim up pool, and your drink of choice is ready and being handed to you. you walk into the lobby, sit down to see some entertainment or listen to the DJ, and the waitress walks over with your dirty gin martini, in the glass you like on the rocks....I only ordered it that way once.....AND THEY REMEMBERED.... that is service. The vine is good, but no where near this good. But that is what comes with being at a smaller hotel, they get to know your face and your likes. VERY IMPRESSIVE. Overall Pros: smaller hotel with great service, good/unique entertainment, some good food options, everything is included and so no need to upgrade to get the good booze or access to restaurants. Great beach, great location, pool Cons: food could be improved a bit with no reservation options for all restaurants, need a big pool level hot tub, must wear a wrist band, pool needs to be heated better. So, which hotel is better? both are great. go to Secrets the vine for more pool options and bigger hotel feel and better food. Go to Coral Level for better more personal level service that you don't need to pay extra for, unique entertainment and a more laid back feel.
