Our first time at the colony club has been outstanding. The service has been second to none. The location is great, a short walk into holetown along the beautiful beach. The gardens are a real surprise and unexpected bonus, impeccably maintained and strolling around there are green monkeys to be spotted feeding in the treetops. All in all highly recommended, and a big thank you to all the staff !
fantastic, service, meals, super clean. oceanside and many pools
From the moment we checked in with seating and complimentary drinks to the moment we checked out, everything was done to accommodate your wishes. A lovely Koi Pond in the reception area. First night tapas dinner at the rum vault, with seating for 8 plus excellent prepared food and drinks, plus an excellent presentation of rum distillery and many different drinks, We had a garden view room, with plenty of tropical foliage and mango tree to tease us with not yet ripe fruit. Very laid back, If your are looking for a hot nightspot this is not for you, but if you want ocean, swimming, snorkeling with turtles, relaxation plus super service. This is the way to go. Side trips like deep sea fishing, trips to the caves, and many more can all be arranged from hotel.
Please stay the same!
This was our 4th visit to the Colony Club. We stayed in a ground floor room which fronted a small pool, exactly the same room from our previous visit. Our 2 sons and their wives/partner also stayed in similar rooms nearby. Although it could do with a lick of paint here and there and some refreshing in areas, it would be a disaster if it changed radically. We heard rumours that the new owners, Marriott group, were planning to make it an all inclusive resort next year. Everyone I spoke to, including many regular returnees, said they would no longer stay if that was the case. I cant see the point, since Barbados has many great restaurants, cafes and bars. We have stayed at a large all inclusive Marriott in St. Kitts but there were few local places to eat and it made sense there. Other islands, like St Lucia, Grenada and Antigua which we have visited, also have more all inclusives as there are few good local restaurants to choose from. I fear that the introduction of all inclusive would change the demographic of clients, and would necessitate the building of at least another restaurant. Why change a winning formula?
We have recently returned from our stay at this wonderful hotel From the moment we were met by Gayle and Rico on reception we knew our holiday was off to a good start. The staff were SO friendly and kind to my elderly Mother in law. A special thanks to Sandra; Gillian ;Andre Shemar and Wayne for their kindness. This was our 4th stay at The Colony Club and now I know why we keep on coming back!! The position of the hotel is just perfect ,set on a most beautiful part of the beach and close to Holetown and many lovely restaurants . The gardens and grounds of the hotel are exquisite and are kept so beautifully and are a real credit to the gardeners who tend them! There are two main restaurants one that serves a fantastic buffet breakfast. and a menu that changed on most nights that was good and I have to say there was a superb Jazz trio on two occasions called “ Artiso” I think ! May I suggest one thing that the coffee machine which is present at breakfast time should be kept in position until late afternoon ! The rooms were lovely and we had a great view of the ocean! They were well equipped with an iron and board.... not that you want to spend your holiday ironing. But great for those crumpled skirts and shirts. I must also add that the hotel security staff were so lovely and very kind, especially Esteleen and Michael who were lovely with my elderly Mother in law . We hope we will return soon to this special Island and hope that Marriott’s do not spoil the gardens and lagoons which make this hotel “Unique”
Great Sunday Brunch
Colonly Club is an elegant hotel that offers a sunday brunch with a wide selection of delicious food. The seafood was wonderful. The cauliflower au gratin was the best I've ever had. Everyone needs to experience this at least once in a lifetime.
