Another great holiday
I just wanted to say that we had a great time again at Can to del Sol. The staff and management did a fantastic job under very difficult circumstances and tried to make people as safe as possible. I hope the hotel survives this crisis so we can return next year. Maybe not the most modern hotel in the area but possibly the most friendly with great staff. Good luck to you all.
Fantastic Francisco at the Luxury Pool
A fantastic hotel with very attentive staff and super facilities. Lots of specialist restaurants with excellent food. The buffet style canteen for all other inclusive meals had lots of choice and Angie made the best omelettes. Sadly many of the other hot dishes were pre-made and very often only lukewarm. There were various pools some busier than others but we enjoyed the luxury pool because of the fantastic Francisco who was the head waiter and bar manager, he was the most helpful and dealt with all our enquiries and requests with speed, efficiency and great humour.
Great family resort with fantastic service and entertainment.
If you want a great time here, just stay away from the time share presentation, very very pushy and rude. However the resort is close to town. Fantastic service, super friendly staff. Right on the beach. Lots to do for adults and kids. Only 80 peso taxi to town, super affordable overall. We had a great two week vacation here.
A very relaxing stay.
We had one of our best trips in a long time, and we have had some great trips in the past. The check in was seemless and easy and thanks to Serifin for all his efforts to make us comfortable . All inclusive is a great way to enjoy .The food was good and Angelica in the morning for omelets and bacon and a great language lesson each day, as well Miguel and Chuy for the great service and humor , and the drinks were fantastic, we were served by Francisco at the Luxury pool, he is so friendly and fast at getting drinks, Ileft him my Bubba cup as a parting present for his excellent service and friendliness, he was one of our favorites. Loved the luxury pool as it was rarely crowded , and in fact we were the only ones in the pool most times the last week. The shows were great the room were clean and the entertainment guys were great. See you next year after this virus thing gets handled.
I’ve been to many resorts in PV but was forced to choose this one because it was the only one available thru my RCI time share program for the week I wanted. Hotel appearance on the outside is excellent but from the rooms it looks pretty bad. Hundreds of swallow birds nest in all of the eaves over the room balconies which has resulted in a lot of wood rot and mold and there are massive broken terra-cotta roof tiles. The rot and mold is not close enough to the balconies to be of concern. The rooms are well equipped and ample sized. The bathrooms are adequate but very dated with a lot of enamel damage on the bathtubs/shower area. Water pressure for the showers was satisfactory once I discovered how to rotate the head to the correct position. Kitchens have 2-burner electric hot plate, microwave, refrigerator/freezer, coffee maker and all required utensils, etc. My worse comments are the horrible bed and pillows. I’ve been to countless hotels in my life and this was one of the only ones where the bed actually resulted in back pain; this is the only reason why I’ll never return. The only other bad comment was the balcony sliding glass door. It always came off the track and was very difficult to slide. The rollers were shot and I wish I would have brought a Phillips screwdriver to adjust them. Bedroom and living room each had a large wide screen LCD TV with numerous satellite channels. They have 3 swimming pools on the premises, all were excellent; 1 very large pool and 2 average size. The 2 smaller pools are on the backside of the hotel and are great for escaping all of the noise from the main pool. All of the restaurants and bars were good but everything is set up buffet style since this resort is really designed to be all-inclusive, an option I never do in Puerto Vallarta. The resort is located a couple miles from all of the great restaurants and bars either from the Marina area or Old Town PV which is generally only an 80-peso ($4 USD) taxi ride. The beach area has about 20 permanent palm covered palapa umbrellas but many of the lounge chairs are broken. The sandy beach has countless small rocks/stones and would recommend water shoes. The waves are a beach break which can be extremely dangerous if you’re not careful; they fly a red, yellow, or green condition flag to advise the water conditions. All of the staff are extremely courteous and cheerful. I would not recommend this place solely for the condition of the very hard bed mattresses. Based on my experience in PV, this is just a 3-star place, so as long as you’re getting a real good deal and don’t mind satisfactory, then good luck!
