A MINDBLOWING Experience That I Am Still Thinking About 18 Months Later!

My wife and I had the pleasure of staying at the Andaz Mayakoba Resort in Mexico for our babymoon back in December of 2022 (July 2023 is the earliest time I could select my review but we were there in winter time), and I can confidently say it was one of the most memorable trips of our lives. So much so that not a single week has gone by where I haven't thought back to the trip with pure bliss. Here’s a glimpse into our extraordinary experience: Cucina Milagro: A Daily Delight We looked forward to dining at Cucina Milagro every day. The selection of breads, meats, drinks, Mexican food, breakfast options, juices, and international cuisine was fantastic. Our servers, Ahuatzin and Benito, were super friendly and hilarious, making each meal a delight. We eagerly anticipated our conversations with them, which added a personal touch to our dining experience. Perfect Weather and Pristine Grounds The weather was absolutely perfect during our stay—a steady 70 degrees with a light breeze all day long. The resort's grounds are meticulously maintained, featuring a stunning array of exotic and colorful flowers that create a picturesque backdrop for relaxation. Friendly and Helpful Staff The golf cart drivers were always available and extremely friendly. Practicing and speaking Spanish with them was a fun and enriching experience. Additionally, the poolside and beachside attendants were exceptional, bringing us buckets of water and beer whenever we wanted. William, in particular, went above and beyond to ensure we had the best experience and memories of Mexico. His reassuring "Todos Bien" became a comforting and cherished phrase. Unforgettable Memories One of the highlights of our trip was the peaceful and serene moments of the wind running through the palm leaves. These memories are my happy place that I return to at least once a week. I often daydream about our trip and mentally escape back to Andaz Mayakoba even 1.5 years later. This trip was especially meaningful as it was our last adventure before becoming parents, making it an unforgettable babymoon. Plenty to Do and Explore The resort offers more than enough activities to keep you entertained beyond the beach and pool. We enjoyed a river sightseeing boat tour, a day trip to a nearby village with a tortilla-making class, and exploring the many fantastic restaurants and shops. I enjoyed working out in the gym daily and the spa experience was top-notch! There is truly something for everyone. Fantastic Views and Great Coffee The views inside the lobby are spectacular, and the coffee shop serves some of the best cold brew I’ve ever had. Francisco, who was passionate about coffee, made each visit to the coffee shop a delightful experience. In conclusion, the Andaz Mayakoba Resort exceeded our expectations in every way. Despite taking some time to leave this review (life has been busy since we became parents!), the memories of our stay are as vivid and joyous as ever. We highly recommend this resort to anyone looking for an unforgettable escape. Thank you, Andaz Mayakoba, for the perfect babymoon!

I’m over the moon in LOVE. My kids are world travelers and although 8&9 they understand the quality and process. They too had a fantastic experience. From the pick up at airport to the unbelievable experience of relaxation when we came into the resort. We were welcomed by a lovely staff who showed a lot of love with helping us with bags, giving us towels and a nice popsicle. We were met by Dennise and Valeria. I must say that their level of professionalism, kindness, positivity, and tenacity is astounding. I feel that Dennise has a genuine affect and openness that feels nice to me as a guests. It felt like home and I appreciate it. Then Valeria too has a strong sense of people and offer a direct explanation that is educational when asked questions about how to get around and what to do. She gave solid advice and I feel she is honest! I could not believe how she helped saved and navigate our week. I was going to do “nothing” but with her encouragement and guidance I was able to reunite my love for golf!!!! She helped me with that MUST DO Muyan Jungle Experience and the dinners were A PERFECT fit! I loved the HAAB- all their hard work and effort to teach the truth about the culture and strong impact with influence on the Mexican traditions and heritage! AMEN as more should spend time to educate themselves and while having fun. Meeting Phillippe at the Golf School is also w/o words. I did a review on travel advisor. He is an excellent instructor and has patience to teach and also passion to share his knowledge! He worked with me and my kids; stellar! The staff there as well in golf store were so kind to help me and the nice lady who handed me my coffee; thx! Then the staff who drove the golf carts, the staff at the pool especially Omar and all of them really were SO KIND and excellent customer service delivery. They went above and beyond to make sure we had what we needed. The staff in dining at the Andaz LOVES their job. Also, housekeeping keep us stocked and kept making sure we were doing ok all the time. Great job and paid attention to detail. Meeting and taking to Rafael the professional driver for your organization is the BEST person for this role. He is so insightful and so knowledgeable. I enjoyed each moment we shared stories of Mexico City. I’m also going to recognize the nanny services and the 3 lovely ladies Angie, Magda and ?? Name I forgot BUT the kids LOVE you. The last day of our trip they came to the front to send us off on our way! They did not have to do that but it touched our hearts so much. They kids had so much fun because they were so motivating and fun to be around. They are dynamic trio!! Keep up the great work ladies. We trusted you with the kids and you did a super job! I feel that if you keep taking care of the staff (finically and respectfully) they will take care of each other as a community and THEY will take care of your customers!!! I can’t imagine who I might have missed by we look forward to coming back to continue traditions incl the cross cultural experiences which become part of a better world and future generations. Thank you to all! Shonta, Odhran, Saorlaith and Larry Philadelphia, USA

    Worst in Mayakoba

Very disappointing. I’ve stayed at all 4 properties in Mayakoba and Andaz is definitely the worse. When it comes to the upkeep of facilities such as the pool area and beach area it’s just horrible, lacking service is another huge issue. As I’m writing this review it being 2:15 in the afternoon they still haven’t cleaned up and opened the beach area. Shadesails still flopping around and the whole beach area not pleasant enough to enjoy. I get it’s windy but I’ve walked the entire beach today and looked at every other property and they all seem to have no problem cleaning and making it nice to enjoy. Service, what service?!!! Employees just stand around don’t even come to provide towels or take your order. Andaz could learn a thing or 2 from fairmont. Just horrible and so disappointing.

Terrible service, little to none gluten free and vegetarian options

Terrible service! The hotel was emailed months in advance regarding a dietary issue and they didnt have anything for breakfast except fruit. They finally didn't accomodate until several days into our trip after several apologies. I will say that Magdelena (chef) and Omar were excellent in helping us get through our stay. A wait staff member was seen eating out of our food bowl before being served to us. Upon notifing managment, they took the necessary steps and we never saw that wait staff again on the property. There were not much kids activities that were appealing. The hotel only had 1 restaurant open which didn't have much options, as they had almost the entire resort closed due to construction (which they notified us 1 week before arrival). The food they did end up providing was good but I would recommend the Banyan Tree or Fairmont over this resort because the other resorts had better food options, more pools open, more things for kids to do, better rooms and just an overall better experience compared to Andaz Mayakoba. This property really disappointed us and did not live up to Andaz expectations, considering it a luxurious end of Hyatt Hotels.
