A perfect place to stay in St. Thomas!

This was my first all-inclusive stay ever (not only that, but my first plane ride, my first out-of-states vacation, basically the first time I have ever traveled) and I couldn't be happier with my experience. Bolongo Bay provided us with a beautiful view, friendly service, a clean room, and incredible memories. We ate at the same resort restaurant -- 3 meals a day for 5 days -- and never got tired of their delicious food. Bolongo's staff was incredibly welcoming and brought us so much joy and comfort; so much so that we even befriended a few members and spent time together even when they were off the clock. Our overall experience at Bolongo Bay was perfect to say the least, and well worth the money and time that we spent there. I am already looking forward to staying at Bolongo again in the future. Highly recommended!

Not going back

For the cost of Bolongo Bay it was nowhere near worth it. However that staff was fantastic. My wife and I checked in and was greeted with a nice cold drink for each of us and our room was upgraded from road frontage to beach front. Then we were taken to our room via golf cart. Loved it, we didn’t have to walk. This is where the cost of the trip was not worth it. I’ve seen Motel 6 rooms better than this. Walking in you notice the tile floors with DIRTY grout, a room fridge with rust at the bottom and a dirty ice bucket. I step into the bathroom, the wall were dirty, the grout around the toilet was dirty and the shower handles were filthy and green. Not to mention, the shower head was partially out of the wall in this tiny shower. I’m 6ft 276 lbs and my back side touched the back shower walls as I showered. It really had to be a 4x4 foot box. We ventured out to the bar and pool area (swim up bar). Next thing you know, 2 cats come insight and the staff fed them, pet them etc. I’m not a cat person so I DID NOT like that. Every meal we ate there, we had to see the cats. My wife and I want to eat at the top deck but the cats seemed to have made that their favorite spot. When we asked the staff all they would say is that they’re the house cats. I mean you could be eating a wonderful mean and low and behold a dang on cat run up under or beside your table. (That is just plan nasty) Back to the room after a long day, we showered and went to sleep only to be awakened by a loud beeping sound. I traces the sound to the ice machine right outside of our door. I called and someone came to fix it. The same thing happened the next night and someone stopped the beeping. Low and behold, it happen a 3rd night, we called and not a sole came to fix it. Needless to say the beeping went on throughout the night and into the morning so we did not sleep too well. That morning my wife called again and it was fixed (a goodnights sleep too late). When the manager found out, she relieved us of the Catamaran cruise charges and offered to move our rooms but we only had 1 night left so it wasn’t worth moving all our bags. In a nutshell, the food was good but the dinning experience was crap because of the cats and the rooms are pure GARBAGE.

Great trip

The trip was very great. The staff were friendly; the food was excellent. The servers were great and friendly even tho the service was slow. The rooms need updating but they are very old The shower reminded me of the 70's in the military, very small and water pressure real slow. Tho the rooms were very outdated they were very clean. The view was fantastic. I would stay again in a heart beat. Those few little issues is something we as a family can overlook tho I hope they update it someday. I believe it would help their business. Yes I would stay there in a heartbeat !!!!!! Excellent Trip.

What's to Love

I love being just steps away from the beach, plus the resort is very family friendly and it's not too big. It was perfect getting to know the staff well and other guests!

What We'd Change

You'll need to take a cab to check out other restaurants, but when the food is so great at the resort, why bother?

Why You Should Go

Hotel Description

When Bolongo Bay begins accepting guests this June, it will be a soft re-opening. During this time, The Oasis Restaurant and Bar will be open, poolside, along with the swim up bar as well. Iggies Beach Bar & Grill is currently being renovated and will be open later this year. During this time, there is a small area around the structure on the beach that is cordoned off as work is being done. As a major hurricane affected the island a few months ago, there is still some work being done, but the hotel is making strides to come back better than ever.

Bolongo Bay Beach Resort: Discover A Hidden Caribbean Treasure

Going on vacation is all about having fun. So lose yourself in the Caribbean vibe at Bolongo Bay Beach Resort. Family owned and operated since 1974 by the Doumengs, the resort's small, friendly atmosphere offers a vacation that seems like home. We're not the only ones who think the Doumengs are doing it right. Richard Doumeng, Managing Director, was recently awarded the "Golden Conch" Caribbean Hotelier of the Year Award by the Caribbean Hotel & Tourism Association. Get lost in the all-inclusive paradise at Bolongo Bay.

Located on a 1,000-ft stretch of white sand, Bolongo Bay Beach Resort redefines the word "beachfront." Kick back on a lounge chair and watch the kids swim, or check out the freshwater pool for rum punch at the swim-up bar. After you've worked up an appetite, two open-air restaurants draw you in: lobster specialties are a hit at The Oasis, and we hear conch fritters at Iggies Beach Bar and Grill are delish. Wednesday nights, Iggies hosts the wild Carnival Extravaganza, with steel-pan tunes and a limbo show, or you catch a cab to Charlotte Amalie for more action.

Whether you're hanging out at the beach or seeing the sights, there are tons of things to do during the day. Start a game of beach volleyball, or challenge the kids to paddleboat races. Try parasailing, or book a snorkel or scuba excursion to see the underwater world. Day trips to nearby St. John, St. Croix and the British Virgin Islands are popular, but St. Thomas also has great appeal. Paradise Point has unforgettable views. The shoreline is beautiful from Magens Bay. And kids love feeding stingrays at Coral World.

Book an appointment with the massage therapist after a long day to unwind. Since Bolongo Bay is smaller and intimate, all 64 rooms are beachfront, so you can kick back and enjoy the Caribbean from the privacy of your balcony. Families don't have to navigate any pesky stairs with young children in the Beachfront Room, and if you're traveling on a budget, the Value Room is just right.
