Comfortable and fun

A friend and I went for a girl's trip to La Concha to escape some Midwest winter weather. All in all, it was a great stay. This was my second time in PR. First time staying in San Juan. The room was comfortable and clean, with nice amenities. No balcony, but the windows on the beach side opened to the breeze, which was really nice. Beds were comfy (even the sofa bed!) and towels were plentiful. The beach is clean and pretty free from seaweed. The surf was agitated while we were there so we didn't spend much time in the water, but it's beautiful to look at. The pools were very clean and well kept, and I did like that they were open 24 hours for an evening dip. The adults-only pool was in the shade most of the day, but is heated and looks out over the ocean which is lovely. I was afraid that the pool would be a "scene" with a lot of loud music and drunk people, but it was pretty low-key. We were there during the week, though, which might make a difference. Even at the central pool, I had no trouble tuning out other people or music and enjoying my book with a pina colada. We didn't really do any clubbing or other nightlife, but it certainly looked as if there was plenty around if we had wanted to go out. I wish service had been a little more luxurious. When we arrived, the bell hop was supposed to bring up our luggage. After half an hour it still wasn't there and we wanted to get to the pool. We called to the front desk, but there was no answer after multiple rings. Ultimately we called the concierge and they found out what was keeping our bags and they were sent up. It seemed very strange that the front desk wasn't answering at 4:30pm. Also, I wish there had been more waiters with more frequency at the pools. The waiters that were there worked very hard, but it was difficult for them to adequately serve everyone who wanted something. Most of the pools are within 100 feet of a bar, though, so it's not terribly troubling to go get your own drink. What I wouldn't give for a swim-up bar, though! We tried the Italian restaurant for dinner and were not impressed. Prices seemed quite high for a simple bowl of pasta and sauce (no protein). The dinner wasn't coursed properly and took 2.5 hours to serve an appetizer, salad and pasta (no dessert). The nice part is that there are multiple restaurants less than 2 blocks away that will serve you sushi, Italian, Puerto Rican, pretty much whatever you want, at a cheaper price point. We did use the coffee bar a lot, which is expensive, but not really more so than any major city. All in all, I would recommend La Concha.

Great experience!

This was our very first trip to Puerto Rico. Though the room itself was a bit on the small side, the view was amazing! There were plenty of towels & washclothes in the bathroom. There was more than enough pillows & blankets on the bed, as well as additional blankets in the closet. The beach and pool areas were never crowded, no matter the time of day or day of the week (we stayed Saturday through Tuesday). The pools are heated, making for the perfect temperature regardless of the time of day. There are 2 hot tubs however, one of them was closed off. This made the hot tub area crowded, but only one of the 3 nights we were there. The pool/beach side food & drink service was great. They offered the same options as the lobby bar. We always went around lunch time & ordered from that menu, the steak quesadillas were by far our favorite. Every staff member we encountered was very kind & helpful. We unfortunately didn’t get a chance to try La Perla during this stay but we will definitely be returning.

Awesome stay!

I loved the resort last weekend for 4 night and 5 days. ! It’s convenient to everything, the resort has everything around it. The staff was nice, felt safe, clean and the views are amazing! Ocean front view was awesome! They allowed us to check in early and accommodate all my needs such as breakfast in bed, and dinner on the beach. I want to go back already and I want to stay at the same place! This was a great birthday gift. Oh yeah, it’s a casino inside of the resort. I like the fact that the pools were open late, one is even heated! Lol even though I wish the adult pool was heated or a jacuzzi, I still give the resort 10 stars!

Hotel Description

La Concha, A Renaissance Resort: Get Ready for Excitement

Pack your bags and head for one of the hottest spots in the Caribbean at La Concha, A Renaissance Resort in San Juan. This resort has ultra-modern appeal from the chic, streamlined decor to the neon lights that make the three pools sparkle when the sun sets. Couples and singles love the luxe life at La Concha Renaissance, a San Juan resort on Condado Beach with the exciting nightlife of Old San Juan just minutes away.

The pure-white sands of Condado Beach are perfect for working on that tan, and the infinity pools and pool lounges have guests enjoying the Puerto Rican sun in style. Sunbathing has a way of working up an appetite, and the resort offers several options. Enjoy Spanish croquettes served tapas-style with San Juan flair at poolside Solero, or feast on diver scallops and Ahi tuna ceviche at Perla, where guests dine in the iconic, seashell-shaped San Juan landmark surrounded by a reflecting pool. When you've had your fill, bars and clubs line the nearby sidewalks, including the Lobby Bar at La Concha Renaissance. A San Juan resort hotspot, the Lobby Bar offers dancing, drinks, and non-stop partying.

You'll want to take advantage of the gorgeous beach with nearby jet-skiing, snorkeling, surfing, and sailing all within five miles. Had plenty of the beach? Old San Juan is full of shops and restaurants, and the historic Fuerte San Felipe del Morro and San Juan Cathedral are unforgettable. El Yunque Rain Forest is only eight miles, where you might get a glimpse of the endangered Puerto Rican Parrot. The Camuy Caves are a breathtaking treat for subterranean explorers.

Sightseeing is awesome, but it takes a lot out of you, so we love that Zen Spa is nearby for a Perfect Duo massage, a Swedish and Shiatsu combo that relaxes every muscle. When it's time to call it a day, enjoy the comforts of your luxury room.

This hotel is NOT all-inclusive. Food and drink must be purchased separately.
