Worst ever!
Definitely by no means a 4 star resort, even a 2.5 would be a stretch. Only 2 restaurants open; buffet and The Grill which had same menu daily. Adult Pool was inhabited by kids and swim up bar had toddlers at bar stools! Room was horrible: blood stained mattress without a mattress pad, no wash cloths, metal chairs on our balcony which were useless as had no cushions, door into room wouldn’t close properly and rendered ‘safety latch’ useless, management staff was horrible and wouldn’t give you time of day unless you were a Mexicann National, gym had no towels, nor a/c. I could go on but I’m limited to so many characters. In closing, the grounds are beautiful but mgt needs a lot of work to bring it up to even a 3 star. Also, I’d avoid Cheap Caribbean for your vacation needs as the first word in their name says it all. They’re of no help to us once we arrived at this dung hole of a place. Doug O who booked us was friendly but once he got our booking he nor anyone else would return calls or emails.
Upon arrival and check in to our room, we were immediately disappointed in our room. We did NOT get the advertised picture. Our Deluxe Tropical View from the first floor of building 3 was a view of shrubbery and just beyond that the very busy and loud family pool. The room was VERY musty and while some elements seemed new, overall the room had an older feel to it. Now to that pool... yes, this is a 'family' resort, and we were on an adult trip, but knowing there was an adult-only pool and typically there are not an overabundance of families anyway.. boy were we wrong. It was like it was 'open to the public' weekend. Not a few families with kids, hundreds of families with kids. The pool was PACKED with multi-families, kids, strollers all over the place. So we immediately looked for the adult pool, which we assumed, of course, was the Infinity wall pool at the front of the property near the water with the swim-up bar and separated from the main pool.! Nope! Tons of kids there too! We asked where the adult-only pool was and were told that it was back at the main pool, and there is a separate section, off of the main pool, that is adults only. What?? The Infinity wall pool and Swim-Up BAR is not the Adult Pool? So the adult-only pool was separated from the regular pool by about a 7-foot wide bridge across the center, the same water flowing between the adult and kid/family pool. Within our first hour, we were on the phone with the Cheap Caribbean to desperately make some sort of change, and it was already too late on our first day to do anything about it. So we made the best of it for now. Our first dinner on-site that night was not great. Our hostess did not speak English and our service was very very delayed.
Our first full day we did enjoy the 'adult' section of the main pool, but very upset not to be overlooking the Bay and enjoying the swim-up bar... and still lots of kids just 7 feet away from us. We eventually did get our rooms 'upgraded' to the main (and newer) building, which is what you see advertised on the website and what we expected to begin with. All in all the kids and families started to dissipate which made being at the pool more tolerable and we did enjoy our occasion for being there, but this resort I feel is misleading in a few areas and you may not be getting what you think you signed up for. They need to get the 'side' buildings in better condition and they need to change over the Infinity wall pool to the adult-only pool, as that is what the majority of people would surely be expecting. We would not go back to this resort to fit our preferences

Find another resort
We purchased the deal of fortune package and we ended up at Reflect. It is a beautiful resort outside. We were first shown a room that was very dark and overlooked the parking lot. The room also had an odd smell. We upgraded to a ocean view room and that was a wise choice. The restaurants had terrible service. We waited for over half an hour for a table at the Grill and once seated we had to wait 30 minutes for a waiter to take our drink orders. Other patrons arrived after us and were served well before us. It took 45 minutes to get our salad and another 30 to get our entree. We left before dessert. The hotel caters to people who live in Mexico so if you don't speak Spanish you will get bad service. There are also lots of kids running around and in the pools. The Infinity pool is awesome. The beach was clean but they do not have enough seating.
The resort is going thru new management. There are a lot of stuff they need to improve. They need more restaurant options and food. Pillows were discussing and need to be washed. Need to have an open lane for money exchange only. Needs more umbrellas at beach site. Entertainments close to early. This is definitely not a party place, everything closes early. Paid for a private dinner table for our group and they sat other people on our table. Totally unacceptable!! This will definitely be a place we will not go back to.
