nice resort with a bad manager

I start by saying that the resort is beautiful situated yes is very hilly but thanks to the hard workers of this resort we never had a problem going up or down"tip call the front desk when you are ready to go down if you are in buildings 5 or 6 and by the time you get on the elevator they will be there" My room in building 5 was wonderful very clean and spacious the shower stool alone is the size of a small room the bed was firm but not unconfortable the air conditioner was very silent and worked perfect no issues with water pressure or lock of hot water everything worked perfect in my room they decorate it very nice for my husband birthday I had chocolates every night "tip this people a little and you will have friends for life " I tried all of the restaurants they were all ok my favorite was the steak house we found all the food presented in all the restaurants the buffet and the bars to be good well presented not so much quantity but more just enough and sort of goumet style if you are used to regular all included this resort is nothing like it.our week was a quite week so problaly you can find litle isues on weekends when the locals come in. going to the beach and coming back was ok we never waited long the beach is beautiful but the water as a drop to it were the waves crach making it dificult to go in and out and it is very rockie we didn't had any problem finding empty chairs and no problems with towels. the resort was a wonderful spa that we really enjoyed and also has a termal waters area with just natural smodies that we really enjoyed service in the bars are great this people kill themselves to please you the workers I mean because here comes the bad part the manager of this hotel could care less about some of his guests. I got injured in this resort by a fall the manager of this resort could care less if i was dead or alive if i needed a doctor or medical care is only concern was to make me pay for what i broke when I fail and nothing else .if you need a acident report you CAN'T have one if you need a simple receipt you can fight with them for 5 days morning afternoon and evening and you might be lucky to bring a regular receipt with you when you return home.the manager catters to the locals and to the people from the club only the rest of the guest go on the forgotten list !!!!! The 4 stars rate that i'm giving to this hotel is exclusive for the hard working people that spend the all day trying to please you and try that everything goes smooth the manager himself needs to start caring more about the people that goes to this resort not just conference guests local guests or club guests the first thing he should of done was making sure that I was ok. be careful when you get a taxi to go anywhere sometimes they tell you one price and when you return they charge you double.

Beautiful Jungle Location - Poor service

Pros The jungle location is amazing and all that we expected. The newer tower rooms are very nice with views of the ocean. The bungalow rooms give you more of the jungle experience. The resort has adult only areas, which is very nice. Housekeeping is good. Fernando, the bartender at the adult pool gives outstanding service. Cons The service is sub-par. We asked to be switched to a bungalow room for the jungle experience. The bathtub leaked and had to be repaired. The hot and cold water valves don't work correctly. Either scalding hot water or freezing. A few days later the water wasn't working at all and had to be repaired. We ordered room service and 45 minutes later we received a call that the phones weren't working and so they never put in our order to the kitchen. When asked why they didn't just go in person to place the order Marco Herrnandez stated that he would first have to ask a manager. After a a strong conversation about how much we had paid to enjoy the resort he finally gave in and we received our meal about 30 minutes later. The resort occupancy was so low that the on site restaurant options were greatly limited, without notice. We were at the resort for 8 days and were only able to eat 2 nights at the resort restaurants. We had the all-inclusive package, but didn't really get to use it at the restaurants. You have to make reservations to eat at the restaurants and when they were open, they were "booked." However, a staff member told us that if we slipped the restaurant captain $20 american cash, they would most likely find a table for us. The Japanese restaurant was good. The Italian food was terrible. Ultimately, we survived mostly on the pool bar food. Fried fish, hot dogs, natchos, and french fries. The concierge Steve, although nice, is mostly concerned with getting all of the guests to sign up for the "vacation club." Much like a time-share spiel, which became exhausting to continually say "NO" everyday.

Awesome Trip

Overall the resort is super nice and relaxing. The people there are awesome and super friendly. The room is clean everyday with full stock of beverage and I forgot to mention that our view from our room is spectacular. The only downside about this resort is the reservation for all the restaurants and the premium alcohol that you can't get unless you're their member. For the beach area, it was nice and the food is excellent. Just be careful when you get into the water because there are a lot of rocks even if you have the water shoes it will not help. If you have the time visit Bucceria which is 10 mins away from the resort and about $7 for the taxi. It is a small town with beautiful beach and flea market. Make sure you bargain on everything you buy. There is also a town call Sayulita which is a must to visit but we didn't get a chance. These are the informations we got from our concierge
