Good, not great.

Good resort and it was a fun trip. A few problems... One, the beach is very rocky, so not great for swimming or surfing. Two, they have a lot of activities to do but are not clear on what days or where they are happening. Three, some of the food was good and some was not but in general I was not impressed. Outside of that, we did enjoy our trip and the resort was on our budget. So good trip overall.

Crowded

Upon our arrival the resort was much more crowded than other trips to grand palladium hotels at the same time of year. The main pool was small and the water was very foggy, when we let our trunks dry they smelled like urine along with the towels. Alot of the people in the bar area of the main pool seemed severely over served. Because of this we spent as much time at the adult pool as possible which was clear and didn't make our swimming suits smell bad. The restaurants were crowded and very hot, the air conditioning was not able to keep up with the heat. The food was mediocre. We made it clear to the guests that we spoke to that if they liked this grand palladium that they would love all other grand palladium hotels as this was the worst that we had stayed at and other than Brazil we have stayed at all the grand palladium hotels in the Caribbean. The personal sevice was fantastic and we do not blame our poor experience on the staff, they were great.

Fun in the Sun

Nice Resort, further away from airport than others but very clean, had fun activities daily, good food, great coffee bar, good bartenders willing to accommodate any request, beautiful views, & great shows. Brought in fresh fish right off the boat, and cooked fresh right away, delicious!! all inclusive even included room service. Special shout out to our favorite servers, Betty, Jose, and Franco!! You guys were the BEST!!

Fell well short of expectations

We are sad to say our trip was not what we expected. The first indicator was the undersized main pool which was packed and felt lik a warm bath. The beach was extremely rocky and contained only a very small swim area. The watersports equipment guy would not take us out in the hobie catamaran, despite the perfect weather. The water pressure in the showers was substandard. Then there is the food.....average at best. There were extremely long lines to wait in almost every night unless we wanted to eat (once again) at the buffet. Once seated in said “specialty restaurants” the food was almost always underwhelming. We are sad to say the best food on this vacation was in downtown PV and we didn’t have a single memorable meal at the hotel. To end on a good note- the majority of the staff were polite and attentive.

What's to Love

Golden beaches, lush vegetation & gardens surrounding the resort that are impressive.

No reservations needed at any of the restaurants.

Working on your tan lines at one of the resorts three pools - the infinity pools views are aah-mazing.

A kid-friendly resort with clubs for all ages, waterparks and a "Raggs" show, starring five musical pups.

Grabbing a frosty margarita at Viva Mexico and watching the sun set into the Pacific.

Beachy and land activities - like volleyball, tennis, catamarans, snorkeling and more.

What We'd Change

At 45 minutes to the Puerto Vallarta airport, the resort is definitely a bit of a drive, but quiet seclusion is one of the highlights.

Why You Should Go

You must take in the scenery as you venture to the resort - it's about 45 minutes to paradise.

Beachtown Sayulita is only 30 minutes and highly recommended - fun little shops and surfing.

Spending "you time" at Zentropia Spa, but if you want to dip into the spa pools, it will be an extra cost.

Be sure to check out the on-site mini zoo. Fab picture opp spot - say "beach!"

The seawater pool is adjacent to the ocean and includes a beach area, loungers and umbrellas.
