Living in Paradise

My stay at Ventus was amazing. I was at a loss for words as soon as we walked into the lobby. It was a decent drive from the airport and in a quiet area. Check in: There is a fragrance that hits you as the doors open that puts you under a relaxing spell. I stayed there for seven days and six nights. We upgraded to a different room with the coupon book they gave us as we checked in (we were told that the proximity would be better, it was but the resort is small enough for that not to matter, and it would come with extra amenities, still don’t know what those were so I wouldn’t suggest the upgrade). The room: The room was huge and clean. The bed was large enough to fit four people. The water pressure and temperature in the shower was amazing every time. They give you more than enough pillows with different densities. And the air conditioner shuts off when the balcony door is open. The resort: This resort wasn’t crowded at all which I enjoyed. There was a time midday when the hot tub was completely empty. We were seated and served immediately at any restaurant. The beach is pretty small compared to other beaches I’ve been to but there was seaweed floating in so I preferred spending my time at the pool. Every night, the schedule for the next day was placed next to the elevator so we can plan our day. I did their bike tour which was fun (bring money, they take you somewhere to shop and to sightsee) and I saw their fire show (incredible), Elvis impersonation (spot on) and rock show (right outside of our room which kind of annoyed me but my boyfriend stood on balcony to watch it and LOVED every single moment and it was over at a decent time). The food: I tried the Mexican restaurant only. The food was good and hot but nothing compares to the Mercado de Dolores. NOTHING. My boyfriend complained about the food being room temperature, I didn’t mind, but other than that, that place was heaven. Ceviche, freshly made infront of you tacos, steak, and burgers, crepes with any toppings you want, sushi (that i never tried so I can’t speak on but the option is there), seafood, pizza (it’s not the new york pizza im used to), and the list goes on. It was such a delight going there for lunch AND dinner every night. The options change often (sometimes even during the same meal!) and everything is so yummy. There’s also ice cream, dessert and fruit in the cafe. I didn’t feel the need to make a reservation for the six nights I was there. I tried the Mexican restaurant just to try it but wished I was at mercado de dolores every second of the meal. The drinks are watered down everywhere though. The only “strong” stuff I had the entire time was the mimosas and the chocolate martini, and I had multiple “alcoholic” beverages for every meal and at the pool. And there isn’t a late night food option so you HAVE TO catch dinner before 10:30p which felt like a time restriction that I didn’t want to experience on my vacation. Breakfast at the buffets were always fresh and filled with new options everyday. The staff: The staff was super kind everywhere we went. We even had a brief meeting with the doctor that gave us multiple options and called the pharmacy to stay open so we could run over there. The waitstaff all introduced themselves to us upon seating. They were very formal and professional (I’m super laidback and kinda wish they weren’t but I can see why they were for obvious reasons). And they were very attentive and quick. Overall, I give this resort a 10 out of 10. There’s nothing more I could’ve asked for and if I did, I’m sure the staff would’ve figured it out. Honestly the ONLY thing I would’ve wanted was a late night feature, something to do and eat past 11p. I have been recommending this resort to EVERYONE since I’ve been back and I would hop on a plane to enjoy just one more day right now if I could.

AWESOME!

I'm a last-minute vacationer, so I booked Ventus on a Friday and I was eating lunch there on Monday. It was EXCELLENT! Friendly staff, delicious food, clean pools, luxurious rooms, and easy to navigate. The only bummer was the beach. I didn't see one person in the water, including me. They do, however, make up for it with their pools!

Excellent value

The resort itself is absolutely beautiful with very friendly and helpful staff. The food options were plenty, even though the Mexican restaurant was closed during our stay. They convinced me to upgrade my room for ocean view room for additional $140 (5 days/4 nights). The room was excellent with great view. But just about every room in the resort has a very nice view, so I don't know if spending additional $140 was a smart decision. Pools and the beach were amazing, but the ocean was extremely dirty with sea weeds, so we were not able to enjoy or swim in it at all.

the resort was nice the food was great, the shows were very entertaining and the staff super friendly. the cheap Caribbean price was very good for the 6 days we were there (the second time we used them). the negatives we had on the trip were that the Mexican restaurant was closed for dinner the week we were their, no one really knew why? the resort is layed out like a college campus...very big/spread out, so you end up walking a lot more than you'd like. we stayed on the Ventus side thinking it would be a little more quieter than the marina side (where the kids pool is) but we were wrong, lots of screaming kids running around the pool and jumping in it etc. the ventus pools do not have swim up bars, you have to go to the family pool for that if you can stand the noise & screaming kids, but the staff does wait on you while your in the pool. the only other thing I didn't like was how white the place is, I mean the place is paved with white stone so it's like being on snow, constantly too brite I could not read the book I brought because of the glare from the ground around the pool. there is a shortage of umbrella's around the pool lounges and the ones they have are spoken for at first light by people running out their to put their towels on them to reserve them, everyday there were towels covering the lounges with umbrella's and no one sitting in them, sometimes till noon or mid afternoon, so if you want a good spot with an umbrella for shade you have to get up before the sun comes up to claim your spot. un-like other resorts that just have towels out by the pool this place makes you walk to a towel counter to show a card to get your towel then you have to bring it back to get the card back or you cant get a towel the next day. I wanted to go in the ocean, they have a nice beach but walking into the ocean is like walking through a mine field of corral rocks, they are the same color as the sand so you can't see them and they are big and small & sharp as knives.
