The good and the not so good

Sandos is beautiful. We were there for our anniversary and it was our 2nd trip to Sandos. Since our 1st trip, the adult section has been moved up towards the beach area. The family is in back and requires shuttle if you have little kids, because it is a long walk from the back. The new family pool is amazing tho. The beach is gorgeous and the best one in Mexico, in my opinion. The pools are nice and the food options were decent. The service was wonderful. Warren took care of any request we had and we really appreciated such wonderful service. We were there for our anniversary and the room was decorated for us and we had a room viewing beach and pool. We stayed in adult select and overall it is very nice. We enjoyed the entertainment provided by Octavio at the pool. The grounds are well cared for and everything was clean, even the bathrooms were the cleanest I have seen! Some construction is going on to improve the shuttle areas, but it didn't bother us where we were, but we met a couple that it did bother due to late hours. It is a beautiful resort and the price was amazing So with that said, some suggestions from me. The adult select area needs to be better enforced. I believe a better more isolated entrance to this section would help. We had kids and wallking thru daily and also people who didn't pay the extra price for adult select in the adult select pool. They were told to leave but that took a long time before being done. The 1st few days there was someone watching for these things ,but the last 4 days no one. The adult pool is outdated and needs remodeled. It would be nice to have swim up bar at that pool. The rooms need remodeled. Ours was clean and kept up but the furniture, floor tiles and bathroom needs updated. The food was decent but we were disappointed that the taco truck was not being used anymore. We loved it a few years ago when we were there. The only other thing that got to me was the vendors at the beach literally asking you to buy something every 5 minutes. This wouldn't bother me if it was a once in the while thing but it was the same every day. I'm not exaggerating when I say every 5 minutes. So that is the good and bad to me. We will definitely be back, and with a few of the things mentioned above being fixed this would be a totally awesome resort, at least from the adult select perspective.

Stay anywhere else - worst resort in Playacar

So many reasons to avoid this resort. If you do not get an upgraded room or “black band” expect to be treated like garbage. We were unable to upgrade upon checkin due to lack of availability. 1. No servers at beach or pool area. When have you ever stayed at a resort without someone to bring you a beverage? 2. The family style rooms are literally on the FAR end of the property, as far away from the beach as they can possibly be. The guest services staff will tell you it’s an 11 min walk...... try 20 minutes+ and we are young/fit 30 year olds. 3. Everything closes early. Restaurants included. Absolutely nothing to do on site at nighttime except for the show in the plaza. (Great one night, terrible the rest.) 4. Don’t even think about calling for room service or beverages late at night. (When the restaurants are closed) they will not answer or leave you on hold for over an hour. 5. Very very crappy liquor options, all bottom shelf. 6. At the beach, expect to be lead to the crappiest area of chairs thrown together if you don’t have an upgraded black band. No servers on beach either. 7. NO VALET PARKING. We prefer to travel via rental car so that we can explore on our own. Would have happily paid for valet.... there is consistently 4-5 employees standing at the front and none of them will fetch your car for you, parked 10 min away. (Hotel rules) 8. The guest services employee actually mocked us for complaining about the resort. The older women thought we couldn’t understand Spanish and said she would “spank us for complaining.” The man said he can offer upgraded pool access to “pretty girls” but only if we agree to their daily sales presentation for the time share. 9. The shuttles are such an issue. They could use 3-4 times the amount of shuttles they actually run. People were physically getting into it about who was waiting longer for the shuttles. We gave up after the first day. 10. Seriously, steer clear. We passed 10-20 other fabulous looking resorts nearby, and longed to be staying there. We are not wild 21 year olds, we are thirty year old parents who were looking for a great getaway and high quality service. I would never stay here again and do not appreciate the lack of customer service or amenities. Also. Expect to see construction tents set up all around the property and a donkey/cow smell from wildlife they keep in the middle of the resort.

Family vacation

Really big property and spread out. Lots of walking They do have shuttles that are hit and miss. The staff at the pools are not what we are used in Mexico. No giddy up in there step. It wasn’t terrible just not what we are used too

nice vacay

Extremely good value, and excellent all around service. Great long sandy white beach, no rocks and very minimal seaweed. Beautiful calm water. Food was fine, nothing spectacular ... but no one will ever go hungry there. Plenty of options. Though the dress code was enforced at some places and not at others. Poor water pressure in our rooms and showers were kinda luke warm at best. The pool and ocean were warmer than our shower. Nightly shows were 50/50, some very good and others horribly bad. Overall a very good trip
