The sparkling pools are calling your name, we know. And this little all-inclusive gem caters to all your vacation whims. Cocktails by the pool. Massages in the afternoon. Candlelight dinner at night. It's really all about you for this getaway. As always, Riu offers it all - including a beach shuttle that will take you to those soft, sugary sands.

Average, not on the beach!!
This was the first resort I and my wife have ever visited. To say the least, we assume it was pretty average. The pictures made it seem as if the hotel was on the beach, but it wasn’t. A shuttle can take you and is about a 5-7 min ride. The drinks are okay, but if you tip they get better. The rooms have the worst mattresses I’ve experienced at any hotel I’ve ever stayed at, and the AC in the room we had never cooled the room adequately (and if you have your room cleaned, they turn power to the entire room off when they finish). The food was just okay, nothing mind blowing. There are 2 pools at the resort, and one at the beach. All are fairly small. The most impressive part of our experience is how hard working the staff is (mainly the ones working in the restaurants/janitorial staff/maintenance). They were so nice, despite the average state of the resort. We would not return to the Riu Lupita, but would be open to trying one of their other establishments.
This resort by far is the worst resort I’ve stayed at. I was shocked to be treated so horribly. The employees don’t care about their guests and don’t care about making them happy. We asked Dimar to contact the Riu Cancun to get is a day pass he said he would email them and never did. It took all day to get someone to actually help us and the guy who finally sent the email acted annoyed and didn’t want to do it but finally did. We wasted an entire day on this. They accused me of throwing up on a towel that someone left in front of my room on the grass and charged me for the towel that someone else threw up on and left there. I had no choice I had to pay for it. Whatever they say goes. They do not care about customer service. There is no reasoning with them. This is not what I expected out of the Riu since I’ve stayed at a couple other Riu’s before. The food was horrible. The bed was so hard and uncomfortable that my entire body ached. The pool was ok and probably the only decent part about the resort. There is no beach access. You have to take a shuttle to the Riu Palace to enjoy the beach. Overall not worth the money it was like hanging out in a pool in the back yard. This was an old crappy resort that the Riu probably bought and slapped their name on. I’m highly disappointed in the Riu As I thought better of them. I will probably never stay at another Riu. If I could give zero Palms I would!
I have to say this hotel is the worst hotel I have ever stayed at. It’s not like all the other riu’s it’s like a cheap run down motel. Food is terrible but more terrible than that is the staff!!!! What horrible customer service. DAMIR and XAVIER were the worst to deal with. I have never felt so low in my entire life. I vacation 3/4 times a year love going away, this experience has taught me a raw reality. DAMIR I must say is the worst person there. Arrogant, nasty not at all helpful. I felt so frustrated every time I had to speak to him in order to get my toilet fixed or my shower to drain or something as simple as getting the number to Riu cancun. I felt annoyed and helpless. Overall not a good at all stay. Hotel is so old they still use regular keys to get in.

hotel riu lupita
:(
-No WiFi in your room
-Bugs in bedroom
-The beach was dirty, it smelled and a distance away (you have to take a shuttle) we went to the beach once when we went shopping and the locals said that it wasn't a good time because of the tides and all the seaweed.
-The food was okay. I was expecting better
:)
-Steak house option has a beautiful view of the beach - you do need to have dinner reservations in order to attend/eat at the steak house and i believe they only serve dinner
-Good drink service
-2 swimming pools (they try to divide the kids from the adult areas but it doesn't work. *Good thought.
- we had an amazing vacation and i would say because of our excursions and the free drinks being served all day from the hotel and from our excursions as well.

When staying at the Riu Lupita, unfortunately you do not share sister privileges with any other Riu resort. If you would like to look into visiting another one of their properties, a day pass would need to be purchased. Please call the resort directly for pricing and availability on this.

Daytime entertainment program for children ages 4-7 and 8-12 is offered at RiuLand daily. As for whether you can leave your children with them, you would need to discuss this with the resort directly as this often depends on various factors during your dates of travel.
